I can't have an opinion? This isn't a dictatorship. GMS aren't the end all be all with the right answer. They're as fleshy as me and you. People just don't know what a forum is for.

I would answer sarcastically but I don't feel like getting in trouble

Have a nice day :D

Choosing a weapon depending on it's originality, design, and suitability is more complicated than you may understand. Our selection process was meticulous, and like I said in the OP, there were many great designs.

Just because a skin was more intricate/colourful/etc. doesn't mean that it was "better" for the game. The skin's suitability for the game itself and the way it will appear in-game, as well as how it will be developed, have to be taken into account by many people. And unfortunately, none of you could possibly know what goes into those considerations.

By the way, in case you missed it: In the future, submissions to events like this one which are stolen from elsewhere will result in a permanent ban.

So, while there were many great submissions, please stop arguing and congratulate our winners. Better luck next time, and thank you to everyone who participated. I personally enjoyed seeing all of the submissions. :)

Sounds nice, lets see the follow through. As for not knowing what exactly goes into your considerations, that's true. Might be nice to be told such things.

Another problem there. Living in hear. This is a forum. Forums were created to provide opinions and side convo not said in game. People are forgetting this.
• Also we as players/consumers provide the GMs their paychecks. Remember Crossfire is still a product. And like all products, their success or failure relies on their consumers.

I know personally, player since March 2009, have spent hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars on ZP. So some of these GMs need to take a chill pill and not get so butt-hurt when we (the consumers) have an issue.

• Slightly off topic (not sure where else this would even go) but I just realized the time and the fact the violet and grumpy are still posting, are you guys on your own time posting these threads and replies @GM's? That's pretty amazing if so

New patch isn't installed on its own ;)

Didn't know the GM's put the content in by themselves, I thought it was a separate team
• Eh this was poorly done Grumpy. People spent countless time on their work for YOUR game so you should let them vote. Obviously the guns chosen aren't going to satisfy YOUR players. Completely support what you mentioned but you could've let the community decided on which guns to pick since it's a community playing with the guns, not what 5 staff members want :/. IE- Posting the top ten guns on the website making people log in to IP Vote for the gun of their choosing. But hey your game and do as you please <3
• I agree. I know that I will not spend any money on either on of those guns. The DE is nice but I'm not Canadian so i'm not spending money on a gun that represents ole' Canada. EH!

You do realise that more than 5 people work in this office...right? ;)

Like I said before, you don't understand, and you can't, unfortunately.

Voting will not 100% work, because the decision at the end have factors that are not always known publicly. And it wasn't 5 staff members and it wasn't what we "wanted", as Violet said there are several factors to choose a weapon and after applying all of them we ended up with a list of weapons/users. Then we sent requests to those users to submit their original work product in order for us to verify that it was created by that person, that trimmed the list even further as not all users sent us the original files.

Grant it I did design an American Flag AK. But it was on Memorial Day (US Holiday) so I figured "What the heck? Why not?" Didn't expect it to win because it was "aimed" at a limited market ('Mericans) (but I would be curious to know how many Americans customers you have compared to other countries). I designed that one for me because it was fun to do so.
• Violet you gorgeous woman i didn't literally mean 5 people </3
• So even then with the final list yall could've at least let the people have a say. Just a suggestion my lord.

Attention Mercenaries,

We asked you to design our guns with your skins, and you delivered! Thank you all so much for your amazing submissions--we enjoyed going through all of them and found a lot of great talent among our players.

After a careful selection process, we ensured the authenticity of the skins we chose. Due to the overwhelming response to this event, we chose three winners who will all receive the prizes we listed for the event--and, of course, your guns in the game!

Here's a recap of the prizes:

- 2 Free Permanent versions of the weapon
- 100,000 ZP
- $500 USD!!!

Your winners are...

-QueeN* - AWM-Invictus

NIGHTWOLF_UA - M14EBR-Prime

svanced - Desert Eagle-Canadian

Congratulations to the winners!!!

If you are a winner, we will contact you through a support ticket to get your information.

We had a huge amount of submissions to this event, and a lot of amazing and unique weapon skins. We know you are capable of creating something original, and putting something into our game is a serious matter for us. We want to ensure that there is always a fair competition, and that means upholding standards for both ourselves as well as our players. In the future, submissions to events like this one which are stolen from elsewhere will result in a permanent ban.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated in this event! We look forward to seeing and playing with your creations in the game.

Nyahahaah Wow are you guys Cross eyed or something? I have seen some of the design they look way better than what you guys pick...this is show me that you guys have no taste... I mean for real?

As usual, with every single gun we release, you are free to buy whatever you want.

And those guns will probably not be ZP guns, most likely GP.

People always find an excuse to bash GMs.

Even if they have put the voting criteria for the selection of the guns then it would still displease many players.E.g. Many players would claim that the Voting is rigged as people used their alts to vote for their weapons etc.

IMHO,It was the best option to leave the selection criteria in the hands of the CF Staff.I think you and the other players who are complaining against the selection don't know anything about the development of the shooting games. This is not possible to add any gun in the game as it could cause several technical issues.

Guns are looking awesome.Their makers deserves the prize.

1.Not bashing the GM.
2. HENCE THE IP VOTE (1 VOTE PER IP ADDRESS)
3. It's an opinion chill.

I agree with this guy. If the game designers skills were limited to certain tasks or had time restraints... that should have been announced at the beginning of the contest with set limitations.
• Well, its all about opinions, we all got different opinions. thank god.

They decided who won, end. Stop complaining. it won't change anything.

I agree that we had better guns then this. but again, it's up to them.

I'm jacked-up on coffee and adrenaline so I can't sleep...also building up my forum rank so :-P
LOL

Asking for restraints is asking for too much. It's not like every event there are 100s questions that have to be asked since they don't specify anything.
*MOTG Tourney 2015* Literally every GM had different rules for every single game that happened in the tourney.
Every event they do has no specifications and leaves everybody clueless WHICH then ends up leading to these chaotic forum posts.
Set a specific guideline for every event and keep it as a precedent..

• You guys should've add ingame models instead of weapon shape cutouts... To make things efficient for the creators, also that m14 reminds me of the portal gun, and the awm looks great

I didn't say that you were bashing the GM.

Its very easy to change the IP address. There could be a high chance that the players used their alts to vote for their own weapons.

Yeah,I saw those designs too. Some of them were great. The winner's designs are not as bad as some players are saying.

Isn't it implied that not all weapons can be added in the game?

I dont see why GMs would select the "bad" designs and left much better designs untouched or Do you think that GMs have any kind of relationship with the winners?

OFC there is a reason behind it.As GM Violet said that there were multiple factors behind the selection.Creativity and the look of the weapons is just 1 factor.

GMs know this game much better than anyone else.

You mean like this one?

I used Crossfire's own weapons as the base for all my designs...not the silhouette cut-outs that the GMs provided

Seems one of the GMs MAY HAVE implied that the game designers were either lazy or lacked certain skills. But by judging from some of their past designs, skills and know-how is not the issue
