so to solved the problem need to reinstall the Windows and instal the game when you start the game you will get error loading in x-trap and need to do like here on the first post . -
5th day and I still can't play. Any help? I re-installed, replaced the files and nothing works. Windows 7XP btw.
if you wait 10-15 min after i finish with other player i will help you with teamviewer .
or go to run>type
%temp% enter delete all what is there after that go again in run type
%appdata% and find mymacro if it is and delete then restart then try again with the files from here ....
or %appdata% and find myrtro delete and restart .

It's not like his botting or anything the error is caused by certain graphics drivers.. I cant seem to replicate the error with any of my pc's though.
Windows 7XP btw.
What OS is that? Can you give me the exact Windows version, bit and service pack. I would like to test it out for myself. My windows XP 64 home edition/vista/win 32/ win 7 64 are all working -

HOW TO WORK YOU'R CROSSFIRE :
i upload the last x-trap & hgwc file ... i tell to my friend in facebook to give me the old folder x-trap and hgwc file from him to put in my crossfire folder over exist file and i replace and it's work now , i im in game
so you only need to download one of these three links and put over the folders that already exist in crossfire folder ..
(if still not work delete HGVC FOLDER AND XTRAP FOLDER (if you get error when you try to delet REBOOT/RESTART PC and try again) .)

After some investigation on 12 players that i have gone in they computer's with Teamviewer i found some suspicious files in WindowsSystemXP/7 , some files remain on the hard drive even after reinstalling Windows , they remain there in the hard drive .... , suspicious files come from hackers programs where is in every free forums / websites ... to permanently get rid of these files need to completely format the hard disk..
How i know?
- Those who admitted that they used hack i found them in the Windows folder X .
- Those who don't admitted to using hack i found the same files/folder X in Windows .
About WindowsXP :
Mostly times errors in Windows XP have because it is the easiest to use and breaks down faster because dont have updates as has windows7/8 and for hackers make them easier work .
My advice is to install windows 7 but not before completely hard disk format,
if you do not allow your computer to install windows 7, install windows xp but format hard disk . -

I do not know, do not know how to help you with this, i had a player yesterday and i helped have the same problem like you with screen loading and i did not know what to do and i told him again to instal Windows after that he has the issue with x-trap then i helped and now he is in game ...

Reinstalling windows isn't a solution. That's extremely time consuming, and there are other ways to fix the problem. Reinstalling Windows also makes you lose all of your current data on your computer.
If you're going to suggest solutions, do it right. -

The registry becomes full and burgeoned. Sometimes only a reinstall of fresh system files and new updates can only make it better.
Even GM Saidin recommends a fresh re-installation when things go awry.

i know becouse i help in this few day's 87 players with teamviewer
and in 13 players have the problem with the windows and i tell to all 13 members to reinstall the windows and now they are in game and dont have any error , only the x-trap error download update but they make it from here , like i say ...with time from explorer/virus/many programs and games some file from windows they become corupted/broke/ and you need to resintall the windows..... -
At this point I have to agree with its_matt and one_9 - not every problem which can´t be solved with copy+paste need a reinstall of the OS...

Why reinstall windows entirely? If it's a registry issue I'm sure CCleaner can get the job done without having to do some as time consuming as reinstalling a whole OS.
If you would take notice George said that most those people needing a re-install of their operating system had other malicious files in their file systems. Not everyone wants to spend the time doing countless hours of research to learn how to sift through the registry every time a different problem arises. Also CCleaner isn't going to get rid of any rootkits and other stuff that has taken over your pc.
I.E. They had been downloading hacks and scripts. Probably got backdoor trojans and keyloggers and rootkits along with it damaging the integrity of the files.
Anyhow, if you're like me and worry about your data you should have that backed up to begin with some some sort of imaging software.
I fall back to images I make with the operating systems fully updated with everything I need installed.
After that if something goes awry I can simply format the disks and copy the old images back to the disk. It's the ultimate restore point.
Problem solved in about 30 minutes.

I forgot to add, as far as I know CCleaner just deletes orphaned strings in the registry, it doesn't really fix anything other than cleaning up lost entries and compacting it.
You should be very cautious of how you use something like a registry editor/cleaner. If you haven't made any backups it could render your entire operating system unbootable if it deletes the wrong entries. -

Most problems with Crossfire are based on an interference between the installers servers or the patching servers and your computer. Many programs intervene with these servers when they're transferring files to your computer, and will sometimes remove essential files from the patch/installer.
That is exactly the case here, an interference was caused during the patch (or the patch may have not even been detected because of the lack of access to the servers), and an essential step was missed over and over because an installed program decided that it should coincide with the patching servers.
Some of the programs that do the mentioned above:

Facebook Video Call
Xfire
Any anti-virus/firewall program
Gamebooster
CCleaner
.DLL injectors
Malicious third party programs
I only know a lot on this topic because I've scavenged around the Technical Support section for three years now. That's quite enough time to pick up some of this knowledge. -

Yes I'll call you a kid if you want me to. I'm over twice your age. I never said I disliked you. Every time you disagree with someone on this forum you throw rage fits at them. Act older than 12 would you? I think you are taking things to an extreme level. But whatever. I see how you want to act. If you would pay attention to the topic at hand the people that George had reinstall their operating systems had downloaded hacking software like you had previously admitted using. Those are the people that had severely hampered operating systems with malware and rootkits embedded into their hard drive disks that no sort of system maintenance other than a drive wipe/format will erase.
Stop acting butthurt because George got more acknowledgment for his thread than you. You're not the only one that thinks they know something about computers. I've never felt the need to download hacking software and haven't had any of these issues with the game servers that the people that have are. Apparently George is onto something here with his statistics and I think he is right. -
