Brainstorm to make the Competitive scene grow

We can discuss this all we want but we will ultimately accomplish nothing. Everything has to die, so say goodbye. Your dreams are slowly ending. Your 5k clips on lifeline will soon not matter, no one cares. It's just a memory. Let the memory drift away as you now focus on studying the word of god and how to give a proper firm handshake. How to make a good milkshake and how to bring all the boys to the yard. How to build the new shakeweight and make it look more sexual than before. This message was typed whilst I was under the influence of Pcp. I bomb atomically.

The reason is that the LAN has MONEY put into it which makes it a great way to be more organized and have more people looking towards it.The game has potential we just need to work together and keep cheaters/trolling to a minimum, as this is shown in China, Vietnam, Russia, Brazil, Philippines, Japan. After speaking with them it's really big in those countries and it's up to us to change. Just speaking to Japan they had 128 teams in their National Qualifier and they participate at LANS often.
The Asian countries based from my perspective are much more dedicated and humble to the game they play and respect other players and that's why they are able to have a better community than ourselves.
see but we american all we does is ****t talk mang. -
For people to take crossfire seriously that can't be any doubt if a person is using cheats. They need to focus on there anti cheat program and less on putting camo's on the same guns. When this game becomes unhackable or very difficult to hack then Crossfire will go in the Competitive scene. Until then it will be presented as a Counter Strike Clone. Which is far from the truth. I love playing Crossfire and I wish I could see alot more legit people have the same passion for it that i have for it.
Also they need to work on establishing more servers so that more players can have the same game experience instead of having this huge ping difference which severally effects the game play. Having low ping is alot more enjoyable playing then having high ping.
Other then that I just think Z8 needs to put the word out there more for Crossfire, It's a very underrated game. Some Advertising would do some good. -
I think people just need to grow up already and drop the bashing . I know some people who would wanna play competitive but there are way to many high ego trash talkers in the competitive side of cf , Drop the ego and trash talk and it may become a better community for competitive. its really not. tell slaya.
i'm very interested in, not having read the thread mind you, what competitive players would like to see changed in the client/staff/site to better accommodate their needs?
theres a suggestion now and again but theres never been a very well-put, thought through list of ideas that are realistic and that is somewhat agreed upon by a majority that it would make more people go "hey, look at cf, we could team up and play this".
my personal objection has always been the attitude of the competitive community, but i suppose we have to start somewhere, and implementing a change or two that benefits the competitive community might make things start moving in the right direction.
ok i guess this is pretty much what op asked for, but i did it again for dramatic effect. -

Need a dedicated competitive section MOD who actually knows what they're doing. No MOD in recent history has been active enough or proficient enough (specifically in the methods required to MOD a comp section.)
Nah for serious though, if you guys want the comp community to grow, each of you send me 5 bucks over paypal. -

I can send you lots of money, but I require certain physical favors in return. pm for details. -
surely a good mod (no offense taken, clearly you overlooked me) isn't the thing keeping the competitive community down? :<

Did you mean lack of a good mod? Because I'm saying that the community needs proper regulation.
How much will you give me for 50 jumping jacks? -
The thing about "proper regulation" as a mod is that not only do they have no in-game powers, but the forum powers are limited as well...or bugged out, at least they were when I was a mod.
Not to say that this competitive playerbase is 'un-modable' but its so difficult to deescalate situations when:
A. there are no real repercussions for being an ass
B. the maturity level means that people will literally sit and make 23123 alts just to stir up shiit, which isn't effective for anyone.
I wasn't a very level headed and mature person when I was a mod, not to mention I was WAY too involved in the community to be objective and impartial, but the problems are still the same imo. -

qft, your whole post was on point, but this bit is excellent.
There is no respect. Yes, this is a game and nothing more, but that doesn't mean act like a little shiit at every opportunity.
Really in scrims and matches, the only things that should be said in public chat are positive things. "nice shot, good game, well played" etc.
I've been making a conscious effort to do it, and kindness is infectious. I'm not trying to sound like a saint, but if I'm raging hard, its all in team chat, no matter how BS I think the player/game is.
Naturally, there are a few who will talk sht regardless, but we have to ignore them and try and promote a bit of respect. Complimenting someone is nothing to be afraid of, and it really says a lot about the state of our community when being polite is anything but the norm. -

Threads that are, right from the beginning, full of personal insults getting unmoderated until the 10+ page is not proper regulation.
Mod powers are constantly underused.
Regulation based on suppression can and will be effective in the majority of cases if done properly. Which it isn't. At this point nobody really gives a ****. -
The issue is when you regulate to the point of "done properly" you become disliked.
As a mod who only pubs, this is fine. You don't care about the competitive side and they can hate you all they want.
As a mod who is involved in the competitive community (as I used to be), enforcing the rules leads to alienating the very people you're trying to be/moderate.
when I used to be a mod, I would get kicked from e8 pubs frequently and have people whispering or publicly insulting me because I closed their thread or deleted their post or banned their alt from the forum, etc...
Moderation of the competitive forum is best handled by someone who isn't a part of the competitive community...its nearly impossible to stay impartial and unbiased if that isn't the case.
denxi i love you and i love root beer. is this a match made in heaven or what? -

Have either me, denxi or escape mod the competitive section. SF has imo been more organized than this game.

imo I think we should have our own roster for teams, and along with a ''create a clan'' option, there should be a ''create a team'' and have like a whole thing set up for competitive players. I'm sure it would be more fun to scrim and more people might notice it and give it a try y'know?
EDIT: something better than xtrap wouldn't hurt either. -
moderating this section is extremely time-demanding, and those mods who have the time, generally avoid it for other reasons.
but i'm sure lack of moderation isn't the reason the competitive community is in the shape its in, and "make me mod" isn't what you need the most. -

alright well i actually wanted good realistic ideas that would improve the community, so denxi or bruce, pretty please.
or someone else who can construct a few sentences, by all means.
not necessarily in this thread, make a new one or send me a pm and i'll make a thread (or not, the back and forth discussions probably aren't necessary just yet) -

bruce and denxi can, and probably a few more who unfortunately want to portray a different persona on the internets.
