In my opinion you guys are looking in the wrong direction. How can an Antivirus or Firewall be an issue, when I've totally removed my antivirus, and completely disabled my firewall, just to make sure, while downloading, executing, installing, and attempting to run Crossfire? The last upgrade that worked for me properly was the Halloween upgrade last year. After the next upgrade, I've had this issue. And I've tried all upgrades since then, and from various mirrors.
1. What Anti Virus program are you using?
NONE
2. Have you added any xtrap or game files to an exception list?
No. But... i do not know how to access an Exception List in the basic Windows XP firewall. (But I did disable the entire firewall while testing Crossfire). As for antivirus, that is moot because I uninstalled my antivirus to test Crossfire.
3. Have you tried disabling the virus program during installation and running of the game?
Yes. I've even uninstalled it. -
now i figured out the soltion of my problem
it was because i tried to use a programm indirrectly for crossfire
i dont know how it would work but it was from a german forum
with this programm which you have to install you can change your keyboard setting sp that you haent always to chane the keyboard setting ingame...
its a bitt confusing, I know but whatever the/my problem has been solved^^ -
the GM closed my thread, i just wanted to say that im not concern about the detected file, instead am concern about the hacks that bypassed the x-trap. Its just unfair to others who are innocent and being a victim of those people who used hacks to kill those innocent or newb people.
you do realize that the odds of you seeing a hacker are like 1 in 100 right?
the online gaming community is so paranoid with everyone, if anyone shows any kind of "skill" they are labeled as a hacker. -

its so annoying!!! i just buyet everything cool for 7 days and now my game doesnt work!! it always come that ding voice and game stops when the patcher is dowloaded Xtrap icon comes and that says: some functions of the operating system are not working properly due to external program. please, close any program which is affecting game client
and down says tool fsgk32.exe site : and downer says mail to x-trap or close
what i need to do?? i downloaded it2 times again and wait hours and wait one day??!! is CF uptading or something? help please!! -
Hi,
I've got the same problem and I posted it into a thread and came across some other people with the same problem as well.
I've tried;
- re-installing crossfire.
-turning off my F Secure internet security.
-deleting the xtrap folder.
-restoring my system [to an earlier date when crossfire was working].
As you probally know none of these have worked, and in my thread the only solution for this problem it seems is to wait for xtrap to release an new update which fixes this problem. As for when the update is going to be released no-one knows.
So what i'm doing is just waiting and i'd advise you to do the same, unless anyone finds a solution to this problem.

Well, what im doing while im waiting is filling in a couple of the free zp surveys and earning free zp, so when it gets fixed i'll have some zp to spend, depending on how long it takes to fix, depends on how much zp I get. So i a way the long it takes the better [because I get more zp XD]. But I'd rather be playing crossfire so I hope it does not take too long.

because almost all have tool name fx....exe adn i have svchost.exe if fx.....exe can be deleted and help to play in CF then my problem much more worser because svchost.exe cant be deleted its doing a lot of work on my PC and on every1s PC`s -

The virus installs scvhost.exe W32/Agobot-S. This is a worm and IRC backdoor Trojan that copies itself using resources shared with weak passwords. E attempts to spread using vulnerabilities in RPC Locator and RPC DCOM.
The virus installs svchosts.exe Sdbot-N. It is a backdoor Trojan which allows a remote user to control our machine via IRC. It runs in the background, and tries to connect to a specific channel of an IRC server and then is to listen to certain commands to carry out corresponding actions.
The virus installs svshost.exe Worm.P2P.Spybot.gen
