when i used to play crossfire long ago and i was bored these days so i came back to it downloaded it and started it after patch Xtrap was patching then the HGw screen in the middle loads then when it is reach 100% nothing happens

Problem Fixed

Had the same problem with the xtrapva.dll virus message.

I contact Kaspersky labs and send them the .dll
The examine it and add it in their data base.
I'd Kaspersky Antivirus update

Crossfire works fine now.

None (even disabled default Windows Vista Firewall due to suggestion from CF forum couple months ago due to game crash issue)

Made no such change but I have been using .bat shortcut to set CrossFire and other games to run as priority while it ran since half an year ago.

I have not been able to log into game due to XTRAP since Dec 2nd or before. I cannot remember clearly. I had thought that it was XTRAP's update that caused this problem for some players including myself, for I have not downloaded or much less browsed through internet at all for week or two. The only exclusive bandwidth usage for me recently are quick daily missions within CF game. I await for the hotfix; until then... zzZ

This is a new labtop. Window 7, intel core i3. blue-ray disc. samsung

It worked for 2 days and now when i try, at the initializing the error box pops up. I tried to do it many times and the same result.

I enjoyed playing CF again today... It has been roughly two weeks since last time I played CF.
As it turns out, I've collected quiet a few adware/spywares from anti-spyware and anti-malwares which were tested safe from download.cnet.com. I won't trust files from that site ever again.
I have also collected a trojan-virus while trying out the "Survey for free ZP" for the very first time while waiting for XTRAP to be fixed. My lack of patience did not earn me any ZP nor Survey Badge for I gave up half way through. I did manage to get the virus since I was running the survey on Internet Explorer 8, instead of Firefox (how foolish of me).

After all the redirecting on the browser and consistent slow down of the OS for over a week, I have finally decided to format hard drive and re-install Windows. Indeed it was annoying process, but it was worth the effort for it did fix the error with XTRAP. Re-installing CF prior to OS reset did not help with this issue, thus I believe that solution for me was re-installing OS.

If you have bought your PC instead of building one yourself, it should have come along with a Recovery CD. If you have built your own PC, I trust you were wise enough to create a Back-up CD on the first day. Make sure to copy all the important files such as naked pictures of past girlfriends into external hard drive or disk!

Once again, Re-installing the OS anew has solved XTRAP error for me. Hopefully this discovery helps all in need.

How?
I wanted to install second systems - XP. Unfortunately I could not install XP if my hard drive had AHCI controller enabled - 1TB hard drive with AHCI drivers ? on XP? God... It's why i disable AHCI in BIOS. After installation (with all updates) Windows XP my game working fine. Only this resolution ^^ 4:3 on 16:9

It's why I start think. What next? Windows 7 re-installation on this same configuration. What's happened?

Where is problem? WINDOWS 7 - SATA3 WD1002FAEX AHCI Hard Drive on Marvell 91xx SATA 6GB Controller Driver. If I remove this driver Xtrap work fine. Unfortunately I need it if I want fully use my SATA3.
I had this same problem on my Laptop with AHCI hard disk JMicron JMB36X Controller. Of course one more time... game its working fine if I remove this driver.

I think that players who had this X-trap error should reinstall their systems with disabled AHCI.

I have error 504 it says :
Some function of the operating system has been corupted. Please close any program witch is efecting game client and restart the system!
I delete many programs witch i downloaded the past few days but i got nothing

When starting up the game, I get the X-trap error "The operating system is not supported." The error code is ''01-0300-00000000-031''. I am currently running Windows Server 2008. I have been able to run the game in the past on both vista and XP with no problems.

heres my xtrap error

k iv played this game for a vary long time and took a break but when i updated my game recently and tried to run the game i get a xtrap error that i get for most games that use xtrap hacksheild the xtrap error code is as follows

i've been getting this xtrap error every time i to try join a game (02-0400-00FF00FF-224) telling me some external program is interfering with the game client thus making unable to work properly . Crossfire loads perfectly up to there. Does anyone know anything about what this error is about plz reply...

I'd been playing CF for almost 2 years without any major issues. I took a month long hiatus starting in early December. I was hoping to start playing CF again but keep getting an x-trap error.

I get this error since 3 days now. I have tried all possibilities to make the game running again (shutting down firewalls, add all datas to exception list of antivir, reinstall game under same conditions, etc.)
Can someone pls help out

the biggest problem for me with xtrap is that it keeps banning my acc, because of hack using i dont even use hacks, i see a lot of players in the game using and their acc dont get banned, and i dont use and get banned its pathetic
