Here's something interesting. I played CF, all good, closed the lid of my laptop (I set it to do nothing when I close the lid); a minute later I re-open the lid and everything is MAAAAD slow:
Now, this is hilarious since the only open programs are firefox, mspaint, and CF launcher (and task manager, ofc). My computer has an i7 processor and 8 gigs of RAM, using a 1 GB ATI GPU atm.
Well, after a couple minutes everything was back to super-smooth as usual again. But I just thought this was weird. Why did closing the lid screw so much up? lol -
Insomniac, look for the process that caused your CPU usage to go to 99%.
ikr lol but there was literally no process open. I opened up CF launcher and FF after cpu was already at 99%. Everything else (as seen in the image of task manager) should only tax the cpu a trivial amount
oh well its a mystery
I guess ill just not shut my computers lid after exiting CF next time lol -

Service issues, your crossfire didn't change the setting back to normal in time and it happen when you crash the game to.
By example I crash the game my setting keep being being low quality resolution XD -

Well here's a question i'm too lazy to look up for or apply logic to.
My current mother board has the 4 pin power connector, i have been think of upgrading my mother board to another one that has a 8 pin power connector instead of the normal 4 pin.
My power supply has two 4 pin connectors right beside each other (Only one is being used atm) do these two 4 pin connectors plug into the 8 pin together or do i have to buy a new power supply. -
Giggle , I already got the following PC ..
processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1045T 2.7 GHz upto 3.2 GHz
VGA Card: ATI Radeon HD 6670 1GB DDR5
RAM : 4 GB Extreme 1600 Bus Overclock to 1866
Case: I-Tech with god dam huge FAN !!
What u think ?
PS:I'll get another 4 GM RAM later on . -

u bought the pc i wanted to sell.
i have a better gpu the HD 6770
same cpu but mine cant be overclocked because it is a HP.
this x4 965 is actually a better CPU for CF. Less cores but more powerful individual cores which is better for CF or CS.

Wanna buy a new computer since the current one I use for CF is a 2004 family computer and after some 'issues', decided to buy my own. I'm looking at an Alienware Aurora R4.
Specs:
Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 processor (quad core, 10 mb cache, Overclocked up to 4.2Ghz)
Operating system: Windows 7 home premium
Memory: 8GB Quad Channel DDr3 at 1600MHz
Graphics Card: 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7870
Hard Drive: 1TB Serial ATA 3 Hard Drive
Don't know anything else really to list but it comes with an anti-virus, Alienware TactX Keyboard, another keyboard, a wireless mouse etc.
Cost is $1779.98
Not really tech savvy so idk if this is even good or worth the price. Can someone lemme know if this is worth it or not? Thanks! -

First and foremost, what are you planning on doing/playing on this computer?Giggletron wrote: »OGMSOHAVEI!!!! WE MUST BE RELATED OR SOMETHING!

Pretty much gaming, hmwk, youtube, etc. Wanna be able to run crossfire with around 100-120+ fps in an 8v8. Maybe going back to WoW some time down the road so being able to run that smoothly would be nice too.
Wanna also be able to watch youtube videos at 1080p or whatever it is. POS computer right now can't even play youtube vids at 720 p and for crossfire, takes me 2-4 minutes to load into a game. -

it seems like you are not very into building your own pc. for that price you can buy at least enough parts for two complete competitive gaming pc setups.
if u have the money then spend on it as im sure Alienware is good stuff.
i would just get a mechanical keyboard and an intellimouse 3.0 instead of TactX and wirless mouse.
