With that and the 6870 how much fps do you think I'd get on average?
My 965 and 5770 got me very nice FPS. That chip is slower by a little bit but card is better. So. -

[MOD]LobsterMts wrote: »that's the thing. the APU isn't a GPU by itself, the whole APU technology is to improve existing GPU performance, not act as a replacement.
"Accelerate" does NOT mean "replacing". for example, if you have a weak graphics card, then the APU MIGHT improve video performance.
in my opinion, it's just not worth it. especially considering the additional costs on buying a FM2 motherboard and so on. there are AM3+ motherboards with many more features compared to the top FM2 motherboards. -

gigabyte gtx660 ti
Whats your opinion on this card? Is it worth the money or are there better alternatives? Its not to play crossfire I can play that with 200fps on my laptop. The reason why I chose this particular card is that it is the only one that I can find in Cologne that I can buy today. I'm too impatient to wait for it to be delivered and want to play some more demanding games over the weekend.

Any informative opinion from giggle, domes or cookie etc. would be much appreciated -
Look for a laptop
What is the nicest laptop you guys could find for around $1,000?
I want something sturdy that I won't have to worry about replacing too soon because of hardware failure.
It's mostly going to be used for Web Development, so I guess it's important to have a good processor for multitasking and possibly multiple ports for monitors. A max resolution screen would be a huge bonus as well.
Thanks,

Might need a new desktop for crossfire and all the counter strike games, would appreciate it if someone could help. I'd want to get over 200 fps in an 8v8 while recording with good quality. Budget would be $1000 max. For the monitor I'd want 120 hz.
Processor-
Motherboard-
Power Supply-
Memory-
Hard Drive-
Graphic Card- radeon 6870 (bought it not too long ago. I can return or give it to my brother if you recommend something else)
Monitor-
Case-
Mouse: intellimouse explorer 3.0
Mousepad: QCK large
Headphones: Asus vulcan
Keyboard: mionix zibal 60
If it matters the external sound card I'd be using is the creative sound blaster recon3d. -

I'd go with these.
Processor- i5-3570K CM Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler 3570K is overclockable and H212 EVO will handle slight OCs
Motherboard-ASUS P8Z77-V Cheap mobo with lots of features
Power Supply-Corsair CX600 Good PSU for price
Memory-8 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz Good cheap memory
Hard Drive-Samsung 840 120GB SSD + WD Caviar Blue 1 TB 120GB SSD for OS and games, 1 TB HDD for storage
Monitor-Asus VS238 23' 1080p monitor
Case-Corsair 300R cheap case with good design and cable management features.
Cost on Amazon at this time- $955
The 6870 will be fine for most games and 120Hz monitors cost $400+ this explains why 60 Hz is fine

I'd get a better case for better airflow and cable management like the Corsair 300R. Everything else seems fine but if you plan to overclock more than 4.3 GHz with more voltage, you'll need a better cooler.
