I knew it could never live up to that price, but I had to make sure for myself.
Still, it's a very impressive GPU, but I'd certainly sacrifice 2GB of that VRAM if they would knock the price down notably. -
About how much FPS would I get running an AMD A10-5800K at 1920x1080?
Haven't played CF in years. Building a new desktop and I have plenty of money to spend on even a x2 Titan i7 build, but would rather stay in the cheap side since all ill play is this and Minecraft. -

What video card you pairing with that AMD chip? -
Doesn't that come with a CPU+GPU in one?None? It's integrated with one. Hint "APU".
I'd prefer 80+ FPS but if not, I'll just get a i5 and 670.
Also fully aware its an APU.
Details about that CPU: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=860&Itemid=63 -

Yeah, but the fact that he mentioned an APU means he wanted to try and see if that was enough or if he needed to buy a separate CPU and dedicated GPU. -

The integrated Radeon HD 7760D in the A10-5800k is pretty powerful for an integrated graphics core I suppose, but it pales in comparison to a real desktop graphics card. Even an inexpensive graphics card.
That graphics core is basically a little faster than the Radeon HD 5570 and a decent amount slower than a Radeon HD 6570. You can Google around for benchmarks of those cards. Basically the Radeon HD 7660D is good enough for 1366x768 @ medium graphics quality for most games that are not graphically intensive. -

that's the thing. the APU isn't a GPU by itself, the whole APU technology is to improve existing GPU performance, not act as a replacement.
"Accelerate" does NOT mean "replacing". for example, if you have a weak graphics card, then the APU MIGHT improve video performance.
in my opinion, it's just not worth it. especially considering the additional costs on buying a FM2 motherboard and so on. there are AM3+ motherboards with many more features compared to the top FM2 motherboards. -

CrackinDomes wrote: »Exactly how I felt. Thats why I told him few comments ago BUY a REAL GFX card.
Even if your on an EXTREME budget, or limited on power...a simple $30 card from NewEgg.com will help you bring your gaming to the next level. Or at least snag you a few extra FPS. Not only that, but a "REAL GFX" will also clean up some lag that you see as your CPU wont be getting taxed like an American <---see what I did there!. -
How much fps would i get with a fx 6300 and hd 6870 1 gb @ 1920x1080(120hz).
That's the same setup I use.
FX 6300, HD 6870, 1080p, but I use 60 hz.
I average at 200 FPS.
1v1 it stays at 200-230+
8v8 it bounces from 130-200+
However, on that new ZM map, Dinner Theater, it can drop to 40-60 FPS when those jumpers/big mobs come out.
I don't know if it's the hardware or the game/maps' issue.
Other than that, It stays at 100-200.
Also, an issue I notice many people get, is FPS lag in Spain.
For me, the average low it drops on Spain is 60+, but most of the time it's 100+
I also get steady/smooth 60 FPS on games such as vanilla skyrim, Batman Arkham Asylum/City, Fallout 3, and Crysis (1) on mid-high settings.
(In case you wanted to play other games.) -
