If my old computer is 115v-240v power supply do I have to be follow the same power supply but the watt is higher?right now my new power supply is 100-240v
Think my house use 115v
just use 115v, it should have an option on the back to switch between 115 or 240v, some high end psu can auto select and u dont need to switch.
if u buy from usa, the psu should by default at 115 switch.
u have a 600w psu, enough for an median end graphics card, some high end cards needs 200w.
what graphics card u want to buy? -
I need you advice. i am building a new pc for gaming and a bit of video editing, and i am stuck with two choices for the cpu
i7-3770k 3.50 GHz
or
i7-3930k 3.20 GHz
i am a little short on money, and the 3930k is $200 more, but if it's worth it then i would get it. -

the costs with a motherboard that is compatible with 3930k would be more than 200$ anyway -
What's a good external Hard Drive?
I want something to back up my files when I format my PC, or when my 160GB (yeah, I know) internal one fills up. I keep having to delete movies, videos, etc...
I'm looking for 200-300 GB.
Also, when I do get one would I need to do some sort of setup, or does it work from the get go, similar to a flash drive?
Also, something annoying, every time I start up my pc my CPU at 100% and a process called svchost is the one using it all up. Task manage>Processes, there's like 10 svchosts running, but they don't take up any CPU, except one every time I turn on my computer, I just ignore it and end the process, but it's getting annoying.
If it helps, I went without internet for about 2 weeks, and while I had no internet the process didn't seem to start up or take up any CPU. -

90$ and you can get a 1.5tb buddy of mine owns one. Has had no problems. Its 1.5tb and you will never use up all the space if your currently only using a 160. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=782831&Sku=M261-8244

That actually sounds like a good deal, but how sturdy is the build? Some of the comments seems to give the impression that aren't of good quality build. -

My buddy still owns his and has had no problems. Sturdy? What are you throwing it in your book bag and carrying it around? Should be fine most people don't carry them around. If its just sitting there the build of it shouldn't matter. Unless your taking it all over the place. Which in any case my buddy brings his over often and is still in one piece. -

I probably won't be carrying it around, but I'm a very cautious person. I was talking "sturdy" as in will it hold falling 3 feet(height of my desk). -

Okay..
<o.o>
I have this little small problem, which doesn't exactly bother my gaming as long as I remember to speed up fans...
But my pc is a real heater.
With a normal 25% of fan speed (EVGA Precision as a fan speed controlling program) and let's say... Playing CF, Skyrim or any other game, it heats up easily over 90°C...
<._. >
When I have fan speed at 80% I can keep the temperatures around 60ish degrees ( 60-70°C at Summer).
Now, how could I possibly spare my poor piece of junkyard's princess and lower heats?
HP G5139sc
EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. Cleaned up, not because of dust. -

Let the side panels open for more air flow?
And let the pc be on the ground with enough space around it so there can be a good airflow.
Or replace the fans with bigger fans, bigger fans have a better airflow and are more silent than small one's. -

Oh, I forgot to say.. I keep one side open from the case. ^^'
Doesn't help.
And I can't yet make any changes on it, since I have.. warranty(?) left..
So some other suggestions, please.

Hmmm, doesnt EVGA precision have a fan control option where at 60C - 50%, 70C - 80%, etc? That was the fan will adjust as temps rise. But like they said before, use a fan to reduce heat.
