most likely not. hob & brando would have never met umad & ubad. they met in LL.ext, mick quit, 4 decent players left and created a team. trust me on it
Still shows new teams can compete. There's competition just have to look around, sure its not as much as let's say css and them but its here. -

I never said these teams wouldn't of formed without wcg. I said you don't know what teams would be made if the lan was international. And as monstar said they knew eachother alrdy so.. :P lol. -

also LL as well as many other teams wouldn't have split up and things would be a lot different then they are now. that's just a "what if" response to the guys argument. not that it matters anymore because what is done is done -

Though I do agree with you about the fact that games die, the game isn't dead yet, contrary to popular assumptions. As you've stated, we have a LAN coming up. People still play the game, play leagues, play matches, play scrims, play pugs. As long as that's functioning, I wouldn't consider it dead. As for many good players leaving, that opens doors for other really good players. It's a cycle that happens all of the time in real life as well [people retire, others take their spots]. -

agreed but look at combat arms. game is bad yet a lot of people know about it due to advertising and word of mouth obviously. the company needs to advertise more and fix the countless problems but they aren't taking any of that into consideration are they. -

Yes, look at Combat Arms. One of the most popular online FPS's in the world and it's only had one league and no lans since it's 3 year existence. -

Hob almost joined vanity. Hob knowing brando and their recent teams they go with eachother to the same teams, hob joins brando would of(if brando was not alrdy there) brando or hob correct me if I'm wrong. -

Think about it this way (an outside-of-the-box way of thinking):
The NFL has not always had the greatest quality of seasons, sometimes the players that are there just aren't as "exciting" or talented as usual and its just an ordinary bland season. Just because the same old great players aren't there, doesn't mean there isn't room for others to come in and fill their shoes. The NFL provides that platform for new players to come in and play and grow into a new team. (Not comparing CF to NFL, just providing a situational response).
In theory, the competitive community could be VERY much alive, provided the right platform was there with the patience to understand that you're not going to rebuild it overnight. The reason why CS has lasted so long, is because there are platforms through which players can go and play i.e ESEA & CEVO. Legitimate platforms. While it may not be as "exciting" as a few years ago because all the old players are retiring, there are new players coming in just as fast.
Communities don't build themselves. Something external must happen for those communities to build and sustain. To say that it is dead is a mute point because there are players that are still here or at least sticking around to see what is going on in CF. To say that nothing will ever happen is flawed logic. -
