Change their IP. For those outside of the US, they'll use free programs to change their IP and surf on secure proxies for extra protection, to make their accounts.
Don't forget that the IP filtration is also server side in the game. Even if you make an account in an authorized location, unless you plan on attempting to play in-game on a proxy (which would be difficult in itself), a restricted IP region will be restricted when you try and log-in to the game, regardless of where the account was made.
You are right though, it will not stop accounts being made before the update. But it will slow people down in thinking they are untouchable in making new accounts once its in effect. Think of it more as a deterrent, rather than a total solution. -

By that time, I'm sure links and guides to pull off such things will be widely distributed. Plus, hackers might be more cautious about where they go, deploy room crashers to prevent people from saving the replay after they've had their fun. I used the guide on this forum to report hackers after I rage quit a match, but I never tried it after a room got crashed.
IT still seems that you dont understand that it doesnt matter if they can make an account or not. -

Read my post. Agreeing with this statement. Its only the new turkish accounts, and Egyptians I really want to see gone tbh. I mean.....of course some Germans cheat, and some Polish but there are a LOT more that don't. The ones who do cheat will be IP banned all in good time, and won't be able to come back. So after some time, only the ones who don't cheat will be left. -
I plugged part of the announcement into a search engine, it's already copied onto a hac-king (Not sure if it's filtered) site.
Make that 2 sites. If you Google it, make sure you press "include omitted results."
And Polleous, thanks for reminding me, that does make it more secure and harder for them, making this soon-to-be update effective! =D
However, they can still use cloakers, and I'm sure sites will publish it, or make guides for it to be more accessible. Plus, I don't think all IP hiders will lag you. I used some when I used to do some affiliate networking or GP2 sites, some work well, and are free. I hope I'm not encouraging ideas for people, if I am, please delete my posts. -
For those of you who dont seem to understand, you can still REGISTER accounts after this update, on the Z8 WEBSITE. The IP banning part takes place once you log onto the GAME servers. Which is a lot harder to trick. People will bypass it, but not very many. Most of these foreign hackers are free hackers, using public hacks. Very few are spending money on VIP hacks. So why would they spend money for a program to change their IP, to hack a free game with free hacks... It isn't smart, and they'll most likely just find a new game to hack. Which is clearly the simplest solution available to them after this update takes effect.

People, stop doing this. I knew from the start that this update was not meant to snuff out lots of hackers. I understood while reading it that it makes the process harder for them, less accessible, and changes the mentality. I'm simply arguing not from the psychological or resourceful factors, but the populations and technical effectiveness of this notion. I'm clear on it, you don't need to assume that I don't understand it or grasp the less than obvious concept.

So basically, this is what is going down:
All accounts that are currently not banned, and active, on crossfire, will be fine and usable.
If you do not have a UK/NA ip address, then you cannot make a new soldier for crossfire and play on existing servers, but you can create a new z8 account. This ip restriction will only affect crossfire.
There is talk of a "BR" (South American) server coming up soon and posted in previous posts

If you as a South American ("BR") have not posted on that thread, please do...it will help z8.
If a Br server comes, then new South American accounts will have a chance to play there.
Other servers in eastern Europe and other places where foreign players to crossfire play are screwed if they want new accounts once the restriction starts. Unless new servers come through.
Honestly, I would have liked "BR" servers earlier (I am American) and put ip/ping restrictions on the existing servers so things would move a lot more smoothly and would be simpler to allow others to make new characters/accounts for crossfire. Not to mention it would have been quicker and easier for everyone, the way I see it. My opinion though...

You obviously don't know a lot about this. Some people have dynamic IPs, and for those that can trick it, will definitely make it easier and publicly accessible. Same thing with hacks. It used to be that there were less hackers, few knew how to code and make them. How did they get so widespread? People who knew how did it themselves, then spread the word, probably made guides, etc.
And of course you don't need to pay to hide your IP. I used many IP hiders in the past for free, especially in 2009, and they're still around now. I understand the effectiveness of the update, I think it's great, but think about how it's passable. Definitely not easily by the average person, but you know the rest. -

There is NEVER going to be a 100% solution. Someone will always find a way. It sounds borderline unethical, but I'd rather deal with a 20% cheating population instead of a 50% or more cheating population. The less, the better. Enough to be said there. There were cheaters in beta, there will be cheaters in the future. The name of the game is to eliminate the MOST amount possible and force the rest into a smaller amount.

the only problem is that its only going to affect the people whos making new accounts. But those people who is a foreigner will still remain

you should ban the IP of who is using hacker. not someone who has nothing to do. because most players in the Cross Fire of Brazil is North America.
