I may be wrong but there was a scene called CF Shield System. Could this be a standard Anti-Cheat system?

    Video Time - 1:10 - 1:15

Wow a PC graphics reveal trailer that doesn't show and game scenes of graphics, awesome

It's not a graphics reveal trailer.. and not everyone cares about omgsopretty graphics.

will this game be coming to our version soon after China gets it?
    will our accounts be transferred?
will our ranks remain the same or will we just have to completely start fresh?
is the physics and the "feel of the game" going to be much more different?
will all the guns each individual own be transferred with our accounts?

No, not "soon", not confirmed that its ever getting here.

These are my main questions about CF 2.0 and I'm sure some might be answered already in this thread but I'm on my phone

    1) Nobody knows. Not even the GM's.
    2) Our accounts don't need to be transferred since this is just a big patch.
    3) It will remain the same.
    4) No idea. You can watch a couple of teaser videos but no actual footage has been released of the final product.
    5) Like I said before, this is not a new game. This is rather a big patch therefore, you will be able to keep all your weapons and stats.

I think so, the engine won't be changed and from what I know the physics are based on the engine.

Alright, that's three bids on the engine?

    - Jupiter EX
    - Unreal 3
    - New LithTech

    This is awfully non-constructive.

I am too lazy to look for it again, but in one article they clearly stated that the engine won't change at all
  • I don't think they will switch the game engine - They might upgrade from Lithtech Jupiter to Jupiter EXtended (the one used in the Fear games), technically that wouldn't be an engine switch...

I believe CrossFire is already using Lithtech Jupiter EX.

It is, scroll down on the games using LithTech Jupiter Extended, CrossFire on duh list.
  • Hmm. Well I'd be amazed if they managed to switch the engine to something else entirely through an update versus a completely different game. Maybe they'll keep CF on Lithtech and put CF 2.0 on Unreal, then allow people to switch between the two?

Idk lol. Guess we'll hear more on December 13th right?
  • i doubt the current cf use the lithtech jupiter ex graphics engine
the graphic quality of the lithtech jupiter ex games is totally different
monolith recently updated the engine lithtech jupiter ex for the game "middle earth: shadow of mordor"
"middle-earth: shadow of mordor" uses a modified lithtech jupiter ex with nemesis system
perhaps cf 2.0 also use the modified lithtech jupiter ex
in 13 december we will see

They uploaded this (http://i.imgur.com/MJvMVMZ.jpg) and many other screenshots recently, of course there could still be a suprise, but as it seems now everything will stay the same with some redesigns and added effects, I am looking forward to december the 13th, will the conference be streamed somewhere or is it a conference for the press?

Eh.. Probably just releasing it like they've released thousands of updates.

Or some statement, CF is pretty big there. But it has nothing to do with us, so I can't imagine it being in English.

Of course it won't be in english, I would just like watch it for new videos/screenshots of the update :)

The trailer was in English so I think CF 2.0 could possibly come to the west. If they have the trailer in English, it probably means they are targeting other versions rather than just the Chinese version.

Anyway, new previews show more details about the new 'Intelligent Matching System'.

So basically, there are 4 medals which 1 being the lowest and 4 being the highest. So the more experience you have in the battlefield, the higher your medal is going to be. And so, the new matching system puts you with other players who has the same medal as you.

    I hope Sim doesn't mind... :D
  • Oh lawd.. I hope it's not just based off of exp..
I don't think they have the same farmer mentality this version has, and rank actually means something there.
  • Was watching the promo Video again and picked up this.

    "The BULLETS NEVER LIE!"

    YEEEEA! no more reg.

    I just wish.

    I'll stream CF2.0 on the 13th.

  • Same crap.... Different pile. If you think this will keep the cheaters out, you are way over your head.
  • the maps look nice, nothing like the first screens but still a good step, the models honestly look awesome, for some reason way better and totally different in what they first showed us..
If they would remake all maps and modes this way it would be amazing, but as its only 4 remade maps, 2 new that dont look better then old maps, and some new models it's not a big step at all and it won't change anything I guess
  • CF 2.0 just came out on CF QQ experimental servers!

You can go check it out at Simrock's YT Channel

You have to remember that this is in the testing stage. Don't expect all of the content to come at once.

Maybe they will release some at a time.

I don't think CF 2.0 will be released anytime soon in the official CF CN servers. Looks like they're still very far from even completion at all. I noticed most maps (like Rooftops HMX) are not updated, so I guess only the mainstream maps/weapons/stuff are going to be the first one to recieve a 2.0 makeover.

CF 2.0 is basicly just an update for 4 maps (we'll gonly get 3) and 3 chars and new animations, wow.. This is how it's supposed to be and it'll be released on december the 17th.
    False advertising ftw..
  • Will our accounts transfer if we update to 2.0
  • Well yeah, that kinda sucks. I don't know why they put so much emphasis on "2.0" if it was just for a update like any others, just because the menu interface changed? All the rest are separate content, the maps, new character models, etc. As a publisher though, they did what they had to do and announce an upcoming major content update by showing previews and all, but that whole 2.0 threw us off, lol.

So yeah, this is just a content update, where classic characters were added again but with new model, however they do remain GP characters; plus any new player will be forced to buy one of them instead of the classic ones, but they are all available in the shop. The menu interface got a major overhaul in look and functionality (i.e. friend list, inbox, etc).

Transport Ship, Egypt, Black Widow and Dust2 got released again with new texture, slight layout changes and added tons of effects, similar to Wave maps, Devastated City and Lost Castle. Two new maps and mode were added as well and the new Transport Ship is also available in one of the new mode with slight layout change (tunnels blocked).

In the end, I want to apologize for this hype thread, this whole 2.0 really got us thinking it was gonna be more than just another content update. It does seems like a nice Christmas gift for their community though and I'll still look forward to getting this update as well someday, although as it's just an update, well, we will have to wait like any other content as developers do decide whatever we get next, same to all versions.

As said, CF 2.0 is nowhere close to releasing to official servers properly. It may take possibly a year, considering how it took probably 2 months to do 4 maps.

    Nub simrock failed, indeed hue.

Extremely dissapointed when I saw your videos and the gameplay sneak peak. I thought it was going to have beast graphics and a better engine (somewhat on par with CS:GO but weaker graphics).

I hope we can stay at CF 1.0, 2.0 makes Dust 2 look.. dustier. It looks ugly in my opinion.
