As soon as i saw that pic i was like: O.O wtf de_dust2? In cf?
I have heard something about CS maps being used in cf but it wasn't for sure.
Now i know its true...
Only in the Chinese version though, as tencent got the rights from Valve to use those maps. -
Anyone know if we keep items this can be huge to if players stay or not if we start fresh half will quit but from the looks its a update so we keep the items correct me if I'm wrong
Yes, according to sources, you can keep your current items. -

i doubt that they will reset our acc.
Unless, they give all that Zp back. :I. highly doubt it tho. -

Yes, you keep your items. Additionally, you can choose to switch to 2.0 or 1.0 (aka current), so if no items were transferred well.. Ya know. Shiz happens -
Those pictures shows how Transport Ship, Black Widow, Egypt and Dust2 look like in 2.0; although very likely on lower quality settings. I saw this picture as well; as you can see, options hasn't changed, therefore it's very likely it will use a quality slider like in Wave Mode; here's a quick example of what I'm referring to (I made this real quick on Photoshop with two different pictures of Egypt; also with random preference for the quality, lol):
Not the same screenshots / camera position, but hopefully you still get the idea for the quality settings! -

I just hope the first pic's weren't faked in order to get more attention.. why would they spoiler they'r new graphics with low graphic settings? Doesn't make any sense to me or have I misunderstood something? -

Actually, it just seems to be the various quality settings, as shown in the last picture with quality slider I took from Wave Mode to show a quick example. Because obviously Ship will look much better than the previous screenshots I've shown. But not everybody would be able to play the map with these quality, so they could reduce it (which would end up with the Ship / Egypt pics in my previous post) during the match as much as they like! -

You've misunderstood.
The first pic's graphics is as you see it and is supposedly in game. However, players HAVE THE OPTION to decrease/increase graphic quality, for multiple reasons, such as PC Performance -
the new cf 2.0 engine is the old unreal engine 3 and you can use all the ut3 tweaks in ini files for old dx9 graphic cards
in ut3 engine there is a limit of 90 fps in online games so the new cf 2.0 will have a maximum of 90 fps
the new graphics engine uses all cpu cores (multi-core) and supports physx and this is good news
install a recent game that uses the unreal engine 3 and test the new graphics engine in your machines
the cf 2.0 will use the same graphics engine so if the game you install run smoothly in the new cf 2.0 will also run smoothly too -

AVA runs on unreal engine 3 and ava i way better optimized than crossfire even though it has better graphics so im good also i was right to think this game would look more like ava when i first saw the update -

Source?
All I could find was that you can increase/decrease (with the slider as known from wavemode) the effects that will be added to 3 maps (egypt, ship and d2) because those will have special effects to make the battlefield "more realistic"
Oh and please do not get this wrong, I just want to know where you got this information from because I wasn't able to find it anywhere -
Your dreams might be about to come true. The next set of previews show something to do with a anti-cheat system. Not sure if it's a new anti-cheat system to replace X-Trap or whatever system they have (QQ anti-cheat probably).
I'm waiting for Sim for official confirmation!
As for the game engine that CF 2.0 will use, it will be Unreal Engine 3. It says it on their website under recruitment for CF 2.0.
It says something like:Required skills:
1)Knowledge/Experience of Unreal Engine 3.
2)Know how to use Unreal Scripts.
3)Must know how to use Unreal Engine 3.
This clearly states that CF 2.0 will use Unreal Engine 3. -

wow I am annoyed now.

This update isnt even a big deal.
They just replace ugly models with other ugly models, replace other maps with other ugly maps with annoying effects, and most likely the same will be done with the weapon models, if they will be changed at all wich I actually doubt.
Ridiculous.. -

Sorry but from how I see it they are first posting awesome looking screens to get us hyped, and then show us what it really looks like, and tbh, this looks awful.
The screens simrock posted 2 days ago were in a news article called someting like "Graphical shock" wich leaves me thinking that it's the maximum settings, I mean why would they advertise an update that pretends to also focus on graphic improvements with low setting screenshots?..
Of course if there will be a good explaination to this I will rethink it, but until now I feel like this is just some tiny update with redesigned, but not really better looking maps, UI and models.
They announced "better lighting", the only thing I see from it is that there now is a sun in the skybox, but no ray traced shadows at all, they are just painted on the texture. -
The other benefits in terms of netcode, potential for cheat detection and new features outweigh any and all possibly embellished images of the graphical design.
We don't know the context of the images though, they might just be of similar quality to our current game to demonstrate that it's still IN the game for people with low-end rigs.
Jumping to conclusions would be ill advised. -

of course you are right, I am just saying what I think about it so far.
And honestly, would you advertise a new patch that focuses on graphics and lighting with low setting gameplay? Seems pretty strange, but what I noticed is that the other video of dust 2 had way more effects and was a bit darker in general.
Edit: For the map it's possible that the effects were set to low (as you can adjust the special effects that will be added to egypt, ship and dust), I noticed how the gate looks totally different in the older video, after comparing them I noticed that the shadows are also missing, we'll have to wait I guess, but I dont really like what I see in the new videos

I may be wrong but there was a scene called CF Shield System. Could this be a standard Anti-Cheat system?
