  • I am also curious as to ideas that you guys would have to solve match coordinating and match time problems.

    Example:

You have to play a match between now and October 19th.

What do we do about the immense drama created by teams who say they showed, and teams who say they didn't show etc.

Because ultimately there would be no way we could police the entire scope of the event in one weekend. So say 100 teams sign up, and they all have to play matches against each other in that weekend. It would be so hard to police hacking, or other breaking of the rules etc.
  • I believe he wants to make the league in the clan server.. Therefore including a huge amount of brs/asians.

    eh.......

Saidin if you want i can PM you a general idea for a good league/tounry
or just post it all here

But i want you to see it, so you get a general idea of it.
  • ya thats what this is. You dont just play your division you play all divisions. Kinda like fantasy sports online

That still leaves a unbalance. As the tier 3 players aren't gonna be able to hold their own against tier 1. Thats why im partial to having both a league and elimination. The league adds more random to it and allows teams to grow and flourish. Everyone has bad games, in a purely elimination, your team could play bad and you would lose. Yet your players may be good. The league allows a mix of good and bad players for the average team yet it still rewards the very good players. Then after the season take the top win %'s and place them in elim. The issue with having purely one (elim or league) is it hinders growing teams as they have too few matches together and is too lucky heavy, for example getting all bad teams vs all good teams.

    a) bandicam or a working a/c where you can check logs.

    b) other team SSes them PMing the team leader of the other team 15 minutes after scheduled time.

    ez?

You realize Tier 3 is better than Tier 1 right?

There. wont be anywhere near 125 teams.

Honestly i would just have 2 divisions like wogl did.
Open has to pay around 5 dollars per player
    Pro somewhere around 15-30

What you at z8 could do, is have the league free in a ZP form like you did with wogl.
That could also make people know they aren't getting scammed by someone whos just making a league, to get money out of them by just not running the league after they pay.

WOGL had a huge amount of teams who signed up and who then went afk. Or no shown essentially.

We can't make the tournament private. Though there would be regulations. For example, if we did real world prizes they would have to be located in NA or UK (or something like that).

But we are still announcing the tournament to 1.2 million fans on Facebook.

Even when we weren't as big in 2010, when I did the simplest of Ghost Mode tournaments in a full month that ate up 100% of my time dealing with drama and I got yelled at every 30 seconds was still 64 teams and those teams crashed the signup page and the total signup process was closed in a matter of 30 seconds.

There would be some things to combat this: Require everyone to submit their USN, verify their account status (not banned). Charge some sort of ZP entrance fee. All this stuff does limit the players.

But the tournament/league still has to be public.

However, you don't need to look at every single game. If you could it would be better, but since you can't then you should focus more on the matches that people have accusations towards the other team. So, the matches with accusations has the most priority and then the other matches.
  • If you make the tourney not allowing people w/o honorable to play... That's some bull.

Depending on how you rank them. I wasn't being specific in my example. You can assume either.

Hopefully the staff aren't extremely shady and the whole idea isn't based on secrecy like ESG was. One of the leading factors as to why the whole idea collapsed was because they didn't tell anyone prizes or what they were looking forward to playing for.

Kinda useless, since they could just make a new account.

Regardless of any opinions with myAC. We found cheaters trying to bypass it. We also found players "conveniently" not able to run the ac right before match time. Even though the AC was fine the day before.

Who's to say that this kind of behavior is all of a sudden going to stop with bandicam.

If a team doesn't submit the full logs and someone isn't there, we might have to disqualify them for the entire tournament. Will that team take it and then decide this is a fair judgment? Or will they whine and complain and fill our forums up with troll posts and swear words, or mocking the people trying to run the tournament.

Past history suggests that no matter what we do, or what a 3rd party companies does, this is the ultimate outcome.

I'd still rather use my main than some low ranked account.

Uh no, in pretty much every scenario Tier 3 is commonly the top ranking given whereas Tier 1 is the lowest.
  • Wynnv wrote: »

Random side note. I field questions, emails and pm's all the time with people asking for prizes for tournaments that have already been announced.

I've always wondered why this is. We provide prizes for them (even if this is a little more casual) no problem, but for some reason organizers are under the impression that the idea of the tournament is better than the prize.

I'm of the opinion that players want to know what they are playing for the moment they sign up.

Come on, seriously? Are you that paranoid of people being angry that they broke the rules and get punished for it (disqualified) then post non sense on the forums (which can easily be removed)?

With bandicam, you only have to review hackusations. Require people to bandi regardless. Therefore the person uploads their bandi after, and if they don't have it? Too bad they are D/Qed gg, but only if there are accusations against said player. It's not a perfect system, but unless you can get a working a/c that doesn't lag 90% of the players, well that's about all you can do.
  • I'm not saying not let some people play.
Or even link it to this "Tournament" you guys are running now.

The competitive community needs some sort of help from Z8.

What im trying to say is after this tournament you're hosting for all of the players for FREE
Make a league where we still have to pay in a form of ZP lets say(thats easiest)
but give a cash form of prize from that zp bought.

Example. 2 Divisions open and pro like i said. Open gets 20 teams lets say. 20x5= 100 players at the minimum withOUT backups. 100 players+a 5 dollar league is is 500 dollars. And thats the open prize pool. Frist getting 250, 2nd 100, ect ect.

Pro would be invite only depending on how well you did in open.

This way z8 isnt really losing money, Theyre just helping us with signups and such, so players know they arent getting scammed.

Your arguing for the sake of arguing. I'll change my wording from tier to something of your choosing. The point isn't the wording, its the concept of breaking teams up based upon skill levels.

Why would it be invite only if being in a certain division is based on how well you do in open? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of "invite only"?

invite only depending on your performance vs other players.
  • invite only depending on your performance vs other players.

That's stupid. There's really no point in a "pro division" when there's only 3 teams that should be in there in the first place. (jeden, hammertime and pdf)

Gives other teams motivation to get better, playing vs better teams etc. And LPK belongs up there too atm.

    its just an IDEA.
All i want is a league that will be a CASH prize.
If people have to pay to play in it then so be it.

    lpk is dead.

checking armour is as simple as making the game a couple rounds higher than your target, bringing an m4 to the middle of the map and shooting the enemy in the head. next round 1 body shot each while the other team gets to shoot your players.

start at 1 round a piece, can even nade the 2nd round if you wish.

Doop said they'd play in one more tourney in his 'super post'. Nice try though.

Instead of having a pro division when clearly there's not enough teams to have a pro division there should be just 1 division where all the teams participate. Still doesn't solve hammertime/pdf steam rolling everyone and meeting each other in finals.
