its not a virus.. your pc is overprotectiveOk, sorry to be still persist, but are everyone sure that the virus that we received from the X-trap can not damage the pc and that are all false?when did this happen? I was playing until 20 minutes ago then i come back and it has a virus.... Why did this happen all of a sudden, what did xtrap change? p.s. I got AVG

first. this suppose to be not our problem. its z8 problem. we are there customer. we risk our comp jus to play. i hope they fix this soon.

if u have avg. open it. then go to resident sheld icon and click it. then at buttom you will see a box that say "resident sheld active" uncheck the box" and save. then start crossfire. it should work now.
but.
try not to surf the net while ur resident sheild is disable.
dont forget to turn it ON before u open ur web browser. -

no dont do that cause that will leave you open for hackers no just do my steps on 1 of my previous post and add it to the exceptions list -

Xtrap problems
Ok so when i start game i get this, all goes normally xtrap does his dl and all and then i stops at 87%, i see nothing until this code error [01-0400-00000000-701] The game security module cannot run properly, i use vista and have avira free anti virus, i tried doing mutiple thing like reinstalling the game and etc but nothing works! and now im missing the easter event XD god damit fix this plz. ANY ONE WHO WAS ABLE TO FIX THIS PLZ TELL ME

I really do not think it is a Z8 issue. Like last time I had Process Explorer running. It is like Task Manager but with a lot more options. I had always run CF with it until the prior Xtrap patch. Took me a few days but realized it and when I close it I was able to play fine again. I was fine yesterday up until about 9 pm Eastern time when I last played and shutdown. This morning I got an Xtrap patch and now get the same error as you all. Yet on my Laptop with no firewall or antivirus, it runs fine. I closed all my stuff on my machine, unisntalled and reinstaled and even did a system restore to a point 2 weeks ago. Nothing. Same error. I really think it is my end since it had happened before and works fine on my Laptop. Sorry all...Yet I do hope it is their end but many others are playing fine.

Nope. Run perfectly well the last time, did not change any setting but this problem occur the next time i tried to run the game.

Yes. Same problem occur. -

TY TY TY i was using comodo and my game works again, i didnt try doing an exception but i think it would work too, anyhow i hope u fix ur probs soon

Fix
The problem seems to be with Comodo, but i found the solution (no need to uninstall Comodo). Open Comodo and go to the Defense+ tab, then on the left side go to Advance and select Defense+ Settings, once there select the option "Deactivate the Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)" at the bottom and click Ok, it will ask for a restart click No. With this done you can now go play, when finished go back and remove the check mark just like it was before. I tried this because I remembered for some other game that used GameGuard, Comodo was causing a problem with the Gameguard version they where using (it restarted your computer) and this was the solution (until they fixed it later).
Not sure if everyone that has the problem has Comodo but those that do have it try this.

Comodo Internet Security was my security module issue
Update to all: I resolved my issue with the security module!
I had Comodo Internet Security (Free Version).
I uninstalled Comodo. Rebooted. Game worked. Installed Comodo. Rebooted. Same error. Uninstalled Comodo. Rebooted. Game worked. Nixed Comodo for Avast Antivirus and Zonealarm Firewall (Free version of both). Rebooted. Game now works fine. Wheeeeew!

for people who have COMODO i ahve the solution.
1-open comodo and go to defense
2-go to advanced and click defense+settings
3-click on defense+settings and click deactivate permanently
4-when it says to do you wnat to restart computer say no.
5. turn on CF and have fun
