I don't personally care if someone uses it, it isn't like it is hard to hit.
  • I thought people use SPOP for the Ribbon O.O
  • Still don't change the fact that SPOPS are generally bad randies.
  • i have a spop :)

    Thats awesome, stop necro posting.

Intro: As we all know one of the most controversial subjects in crossfire is the SPOP female character model. You can purchase this model for 8200 zp so only those who pay to play or do enough surveys have access to this character. It is an increasingly common phenomenon in Pubs (Public Games) and even in the clan servers during scrims. This guide is here to dispel some myths and to inform the general populace about the SPOP character.

Size and Shape of the Character Model: The first thing that everyone will notice when they first encounter an SPOP is that they look skinnier than the normal SAS, OMOH, or SWAT characters. This may confuse you at first but dont be fooled, the hit boxes ARE THE SAME, I repeat, ARE THE SAME as the other character models. So as long as you keep a cool head and an trained trigger finger you will be fine.

Running and Walking Speed: When the SPOP first came out there were many threads that claimed the SPOP "ran faster." This claim is entirely false as your run speed is determined by the mobility of your weapon. The SPOP has the same running speed as every other character model.

Rank and Skill Claims: There are many people who claim that those who use the SPOP are all "noobs." This is simply slander by those who are frustrated when they encounter the SPOP. This generalization does not stand up as there is no rank requirement for the SPOP. The character model is used by players from all skill levels. Using a certain character model will never make someone a "noob."

Gender and Sex Claims: The same people that claim all SPOP users are "noobs" will also state that SPOP users are "Gay, Homosexual, Guys who can't get girls in real life, or 12 year old kids that want to get off." This again stems from the frustration they have experienced when playing SPOP users in pubs. SPOP are use by straight men, women, and other of different sexual orientations. To claim that all users are "gay" is offensive and detrimental to the crossfire community.

League and Clan Play: The SPOP is banned from tournaments according to the WOGL standards. This does not prevent players from using SPOP characters in the clan server during scrims. Each clan will have preferences when dealing with this character.

Final Thoughts: The SPOP will always receive controversy from the community as it is predominantly male based. Most of the males assume that they are always playing other males. However there is a percentage of the community, however small, that are something other than male. Once we learn to accept this and take this into account, I believe our community will benefit as a whole.

    Hope the guide helped.
nice message nearly ALL of our clan are spops. You would not believe how much abuse we suffer from all those tiny minded nooobs and haters.we live with it .we actually find it funny now.most of our clan are girls so why shouldnt they use a female character? lol we get most abuse from Guys that say girls should not play this game.Ahhhhhhhhhhh bless their little cotton socks! :)
  • nice text. just saying, im a girl, and i stopped playing my spop or La Swat, because so many people cried about the spop, and that its noobish and all the stuff about that, saying this for UK servers, i found out people at Alpha dont care that much, and thats the places i play the spop char, she has nice hands, and YES i "feel" like i can aim better with her, cuz of the reason i see more off my screen, even if its not much more, but just a slightly area.
tbh, i miss playing the times i played SPOP where nobody crief about it...

Spop just doesn't have smaller size, it does have smaller hitbox
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3jH6-H_ris

lol I watched the video, and? it doesnt show the hitbox being smaller, it shows that the spop character stands different, there are places where the spop is that the swat isnt you chose to hit the swat do the same thing with the swat character infront and you will see the spop behind and still be able to hit the spop without hittting the swat
  • Until I get confirmation from a reliable resource, this is just someone else's opinion on the SPOP character. Not reliable by any means, but it is still well done in it's presentation of the subject.
  • I'm pretty sure that the hitbox is smaller... doesn't that video just explain everything?
  • Is the SPOP bust video a perfect test? Probably not flawless technically, but it does offer some potential evidence that the hit boxes may be smaller.

Who knows if the hit boxes are smaller? Only one entity: the game developers (not Z8 Games). They have told Z8 that the hitboxes are the same, but Z8 itself does not have access to the actual code. They have addressed this issue before and said exactly this. Let's assume the developers have not lied to Z8 and the hit boxes are in fact, the same. Then...

The point remains that if the hit box extends beyond the SPOP's (or STAR's) physical body, they are not visible in some of the same situations (close to walls / corners) where a male character's hit box would be visible. How is this not an advantage?

The SPOP is now, always has been and forever will be viewed as a "noobish" character. It will never be allowed in any form of competition. As for recreational gamers, use it as you like, but be aware, you will be chastised for using it.

PS I own and use a SPOP character on occasion, so don't assume people who bash the SPOP just can't afford it.
  • I have the spop for the ribbon but dont use it the underware is to tight lol

that video is quite 1 sided, as I said put the other character in front and I bet you can still hit the spop behind the swat guy
she stands differently than the swat character so there are places swat shows and places that spop shows if you were to do it the other way
  • You inspired me even more not to use it so people don't hate me..
  • So far this is obvious.. If you are looking at the SPOP(Towards its face, and its staring back at you), IT IS HARDER TO HIT. That much is conclusive, the SPOP and the male chars were perfectly aligned, and the SPOP was not killed, there is no way to get past that. Now to reiterate; IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE SPOP, AND THE SPOP IS LOOKING AT YOU, IT IS HARDER TO IT.There is no denying that. HOWEVER! This does not mean that from any direction the SPOP is harder to hit. If you are looking at the SPOP from the side, the hitboxes could be the same as the male char, due to the way the Hitboxes are shaped.
