... a long term solution would be to add more in-game sound settings so players can have more control over the sound.
this. I always thought CFs sound options were VERY limited. And as much as I'd love to remove FIRE IN DA HOLE and the VIP Char voice I never did because that's how the game was, sadly, suppose to be. Removing them or even replacing them to me, is in a sense, giving yourself an advantage in modes like ghost. And I'll have to say if that all of the better GM players have been removing sounds like that...then LOL might make ghost mode a bit more fun to see how they do now. x] -
Please I need help about the kill marks,is it ok if I changed it?
Because I am bored of it I want some new kill marks.
Sorry if I annoyed you Gm
Sorry, but no you can NOT change the kill marks. Worse case scenario, you'll get a ban for tampering with game files. -
Just came back from playing a game. If this feature is active, it is not picking up on Snd2 folder as "fire in the hole" and my own custom sounds are still active and functioning without no error response from the anti-cheat.
Looks like we do need some clarification on what exactly is off-limits now in terms of "modification." -
No more BGM ?! I liked my kill sounds i used it over a year now .
it would be nice if z8games refresh the sounds and killmarks and make some new cool stuff.
As long as the hackers are out ofc i really hope it will stop thos ugly hack kids from killing the game.
I think no hackers today so its time to get my gold back in ranked match. du to the hacking issu i got down to silver then i stoped.
Keep up the good work ! -

Thank goodness. I'll throw my support behind the sound mod gang- having your own killstreak sounds and no Nade sounds is so so nice. -
Can you include grenades radio messages (fire in the hole , smoke grenade ..) to the in game radio messages sound controller ?
Ghost mode GR side is unplayable with such noise !
No need to worry, nothing effects Message WAV files, for now your safe as before :P -
Gonna send a ticket right after this, but I got one of those 31_ errors today for no reason. After playing a few rounds of ZM2 hard, I equipped the MG3 that I won in hard mode, and after the loading "film sequence" I got the error. It also showed me holding the dual-Kriss rusty or whatever theme that you get, even though I had not equipped that. Now I can't log into CF, and have had to re-download it.
I'm really hoping this isnt going to make it so every bug you get forces you to re-install =__= -

Could you atleast state WHY you have to ruin the game more and more? It doesn't affect any other player except the one modding himself - Why should I not be allowed to have other images popping up if I kill someone or remove annoying sounds or listen to some stimulating music if I kill someone?

I made that part bold because, while changing kill marks certainly only effects You the modder, changing or rather removing sounds like the 'FIRE IN DAH HOLE!' from grenades means that YOU can hear better than the original game had intended and thus get an advantage over a normal player especially in a mode like Ghost Mode. Honestly, it'd just be best if they didn't allow any files to be changed or removed. Puts everyone on the same page. But they SHOULD have an open discussion and be willing to do what the players want in terms of increasing sound options and/or changing certain sounds/voices/killmarks etc to what the player base prefers. Or even giving a variety of options to choose from in-game. -
@Ixith
okay, I have to admit that you are right about removing the sounds (even though they are pretty annoying I'd be fine with keeping them...) - the sounds were not made to block any player, they were made to inform the player about what is happening
Still - Like you already said they should at least have an open discussion whether you should still be allowed to change certain files like killmarks or the killsounds (Multikill2/3/4...) or not e.g. I changed mine to some music parts that keep me going and motivated while being on a streak - I never really changed them to get a personal advantage because I see crossfire as something to play when I am bored and want to have some fun - but the vanilla sounds are just annoying ( -

except when people mod it so smoke is clear...or ghosts have a shadow...or many other things that they can do to help get an advantage... -

Okay, I've got that meanwhile - but like I said in my second post: Why can't you make an exception e.g. for BGM? Killsounds? Killmarks? Those files won't affect anyone besides the modder himself - It won't bother anyone if I listen to music when I'm on a streak - please consider to make some exceptions -

Because people find ways around that...it was always like that, but then people push the boundaries constantly. The best way is to say straight out no. Then there are no exceptions, no "oh, but we can do X,Y and Z so I thought it would be ok" type scenarios...
