Well I guess then it's the industry's fault for not having a universal rule like say: competitors won't cheat?

    Wait what

I don't get what you're trying to say
  • Erick, I will make a change to our terms of service, to clarify better, so next time that isn't a question to be ruled in. Though, it is kind of obvious that you shouldn't have cheats.

    I know that.

But lets be real, people don't know how to read things.

EDIT// Or dont have common sense
  • I don't get why you guys are getting mad because the client caught cheats on pc. They should be permanent banned from playing at all not only client banned. They cheated once and finally got caught since they have cheats on their pc. Who downloads cheats to not use them? Like seriously someone saying that had cheats on pc because they used it before and not using it now.... those people should be banned automatically because they just admitted they cheated before. Unless z8games is letting people cheat "as long as they don't get caught".

If a player wants to be competitive... Why would they have cheats irregardless?

This is more of a moral discussion I'm trying to bring up for the competitive community itself.

I can certainly understand the point of view an admin such as yourself is trying to make... But what about from the player's perspective? What morality do they have?

But logic never used cheats so your entire paragraph is irrelevant.

Well i'm a player aswell, and have accomplished a lot as a player.

from a players prospective i would stand the same ground as i would being an Admin of something. If you're gonna ban people off something, then make it clear so things like this are 100% avoided. If a player gets banned for this reason and ocg has a blatant rule stating "you may not have any cheat programs on your computer or you will be in subject to a ban"- or something close to this, then that's just too bad. That clearly means you didn't read the rules if you got banned.

How do you know, where you at his home and looking at him play? Why does he have a cheat then...? Do people collect cheats now and not use them lol?
  • This is all I have to say: http://puu.sh/3vdeK.png

Openly admits it for his clan.

    Uhm

You do realize during this entire conversation, we've known he had the red dot program on his computer, right?
  • Its not a red dot, it looks more like this: http://puu.sh/3v9VX.jpg

I did my research on it.

    Thankyou
  • It's more a crosshair, normally you can use that for streaming matches (Replay Overlay) or ingame since he was a streamer before right? but i can be wrong..
  • Hence, banned for a crosshair hack. And they admit to using it with a sniper. Which makes it even more worse. Therefore, the answer for unbanning LOGIC is not going to happen. This is not me being mean, but this is for everyone to know they should not have cheats on your computer. Its pointless...

    Ladies and gentlemen... This post.

If you get banned for doing this, quote this message back. A Moderator says its ok....

not going to read the rest of the post after but this one stood out to me,

i believe saidin said it is unreportable/ to get banned for using hacks/glitching in a private room (passworded), however you get banned by the auto detect system than that is your fault for being an idiot

No one admits to using it with a sniper. That's just what the purpose of the program was when I had it on my laptop 3+ years ago. I sent it from my laptop to my main PC via USB so that I could give it to a friend who wanted to become better at sniping. I can guarantee you that the program was never ran on this computer.
  • Came back 2 hours later, see's all this controversy. I had no intention of raising all of this controversy, I just found the list interesting. SowzSowz :(

Well I'm not sure but generally people use something like this

    red%20dot.jpg

(the red circle in the middle, was too lazy to find the actual program I was thinking of and this was the first thing I found)

Yes understandable clear cut rules are needed as well as literate players :p

But I'm more concerned on the psych and values that competitive players have with maybe not with this game or other competing games but with just video games in general.
They're not the "casual" player... these guys "train" by playing 24/7 or whatever (extreme just joking) and constantly practice different strats and stuff. Sure they can play "casually" like anybody else... but when the season starts up why would they have cheats of any kind on their computer?

So why is it that when something happens everybody (again not really everybody) starts pointing a finger at somebody else or to portray such unsportsmanlike behavior within a competition or even towards a league/cup/tournament or even the organizers of such an event?

I don't expect you to really have an answer but maybe to give your thoughts on the matter that I'm attempting to bring up. Sorry... I'm not a competitive player at all and I can't really describe the theoretical setting that well.
Well I'm not sure but generally people use something like this IMAGE
Can't you guys take your appeal elsewhere? I don't even know why you would even take part of it?

Your logic is flawed to hell. Monitors now come with abilities to overlay a crosshair/dot in the middle of a screen. Some players will put a dot in the middle of the screen with paper or tape or marker. Will I be banned if my monitor has said program? Further more, both of these are lan and league legit. So giving a 15 day ban to something that is legal in all good leagues is preposterous. Further more, giving a 15 day ban to something that wasn't even running, is just idiotic.

Because I'm friends with logic and it's pathetic that he's getting banned for no reason. Why are you involved?
  • Wait, how was one player (Hichew) permanently banned twice? Rofl. First ban was "permanent," huh?

Interesting to see some of the people on there. Props to OCG for publicizing a ban list, and props to Denxi for not closing this thread (yet).

EDIT: Also, you need to keep better track of people's IGNs/USNs in addition to just their OCG forum names.

Why is his teammate appealing for him? This is something the player in question should have done. This isn't helping his case. I really don't care what happens after, but the truth of the matter is, the AC found some sort of cheat (whether it was his or not). The only other side of the story I see is OCG framing people, but the part that I cannot figure out is why would they do such a thing after being partnered with Z8 and have so many good things going for them. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Couldn't he just tape the screen if he wanted the cheat? They cannot ban you for that. Assuming he cheated of course.
  • Just noticed that most of the people on the ban list are randies, lol. Only people I recognize are tanker, logic, and Insomniac (not to be confused with me).

Go ahead put a dot on your screen at LAN..
  • Most of those people on the ban list aren't from CF.

Before you fully run the AC, you get this message, by pressing 'Agree', your agreeing to it!

    loKdZ.png

Guess what this does? It scans for things you just agreed to!

    tAhob.png

During the scan, it obviously picked Logic's Crosshair hack up (Like its made to do). If you don't want us finding it, don't run the AC and don't participate in OCG events. Simple as that.

I fully support players being banned / receiving extra scrutiny / etc over having cheats on their system.

However, when a player has a file on his "Sent files" folder for teamviewer, has not ran the cheat, and you claim that there is proof of in-game use...

Then, your staff members say "I see how you play, I know you cheat"...

    That is uncalled for.

Edit: Furthermore, LOGIC has ran this AC for weeks now. The first match after he quit your staff, he was banned for cheating. I'm not trying to imply anything, but could you explain that?

there is nothing wrong with having a public ban list.. lol
