I personally don't look forward to it's arrival.
I never said it was a good thing xD Was just wondering if z8 elected to not have that or whether sg just hasnt bothered putting it in yet xD -

We are aware of these reported changes, Ghost Mode is a mode that is very sensitive to changes, users are dedicated and notice subtle things.
We're in the process of determining the nature of these changes (on purpose or bugs). We hope to have some concrete information for you soon.
Note that the QA process for this patch went through some changes. Changes which will be good for the longevity of the game and will be good for the quality. But this patch suffered from a transition period and could have been tested better. It was released because there were no critical errors, however we know that these things like this don't look good for anyone. We want to have them fixed as soon as possible! Just try and be patient thanks!
There ya go. -
Talon, are you using 8 channel or stereo headphones?

Stereo is my guess considering the name and description. -

Doesn't seem to be USB so it's whatever your sound card is. -

I changed mine to 7.1 and it was a bit easier to PP (stereo headphones) -

All I'm using is a standard built in soundcard implemented in both my desktop and my laptop. Both have no options to change settings besides the standard Windows options for audio.
So can't really tell ya. -

Well depending on when you got it, most on board sound cards are 5.1 sound nowadays. -

Laptop is about 2.
So not too old I guess.
I'd say 5.1. I don't notice much of a difference between 5.1 and 7.1 but seeing that I have a x-fi sound card and my headphones only support stereo, I don't see myself changing to 5.7/7.1 any time.. So I can't really test out Sim's findings.. -

My laptop is only a few months old. It's got the realtek soundcard. I recently bought an xfi soundcard to see if it would help with pinpointing after the patch. It didn't really make a difference. Just better sound quality. -

I used to have realtek 5.1 sound, changed to x-fi and I had to readjust my pinpointing.. >.>... Also, what kind of headphones are you using? That might affect it. Like someone else said, you gotta have a good ass pair of headphones to have the normal sound. e_e -

that was in our version at point. must of been another forgotten bug. i did prefer when you could hear others fall.
in one of the Asian crossfires, (viet or china) you can hear other players jump out of water and even hear when their feet leave the ground between bunny hops on any surface.all surround sound 8 channel headsets i've looked have a usb connection. last time I had usb headphones, I couldnt adjust the EQ.
not every usb headset will come with an equalizer. both of mine do though. (after installing the CD/downloading drivers from their website)
just search before you buy..Pinetree_God wrote: »..
Have you guys played GR TODAY? i just tested 3 different sound cards between 2 computers using channels 2 and 8 on 2 different headsets and all of them could pinpoint, lol : s. but that was not the case like 4 days ago. -
