Professionalism in Competitive Cross Fire

Personally,i dont care what the other team,or players think about me or my team. I'll just play and not even bother typing. No point in getting angry over something being typed hundreds of miles away, unless you seriously have anger issues. Am i the only one here that actually plays for the entertainment?

The biggest issue is people aren't talking trash about a players game, they are insulting players directly.
This is a HUGE part of it. Nailed it right on the head Doop. I have acknowledged that trash talking and rivalry is a natural part of the sport and competition in general. A little rivalry and a little banter back and forth is OKAY in the grand scheme of things, but when it becomes direct towards the players, then it becomes personal and now we have a bigger problem.
It's inevitable, trash talk is GOING to happen. But there is a way to do it and directly insulting players shouldn't be one of those ways. -

Thats usually a sign of insecurity though. Just laugh it off as a mere insult that really has no malintent. It might get sickening at times, but then again you are just behind screens, and nothing can/could be done.I feel as though it has to be in person to get REALLY personal. -

While some people have the reserve to laugh it off, others don't. I believe it's best to simply control the problem from the start and instill that "line" where it crosses into what is not necessary. As I said earlier, sometimes discipline can not be learned, before it is taught. Some players/teams pick up the discipline without anyone instructing them otherwise, however its the teams which don't, that ruin the fun for everyone else. -

What can you do eh? 3rd party programs just add more fuel to the fire and that is something neither you and anyone else can really prevent. People should just accept the inevitable, but thats something else above our power. I would like to see something done for the sake of this games future, then again more and more teams are getting the habit of just trashing on others that dont meet up to their standards and thats just delaying what could be done to actually make this game seem more serious competitive-wise. -

That's the problem, people don't. -
I have the best shot, your all jelly...
jk, but yeah, the communitys bad. Everyone wants to be the best, and if they see someone better than them, they immediately have to insult you, or hackusate, and take it to a higher level... Except if your LL or LPK, then everyones on your d1ck. =.=
EDIT: Most of the competitive players being under 17 and getting pick on irl, so they choose to act bad over the internet, doesn't help at all.
and oh, Miniwrecker is an exception, hes sexy. -
No one wants to help any new teams that come into the game. People are stuck up and don't want any competition, it's sad. Can a very select few of us do anything about it? Not hardly. Us over here at NA side of CF are just stuck up, complete *****s, and pains in the arse. EU side of CF has a really nice community, I mean they have there trolls and such but they aren't even near our Community in trolling. They care about teams that come into the community.
You have so many teams that are new to the game and trying to get help.
You have so many teams that are old to the game and win almost everything.
You have so many teams that don't really care about this game.
You have teams like vVv LifeLine, ProCore.LPK, Instinct, do work son. Trio, and some other notable top teams that are too stuck up to help any of the lower tier teams in CF over on the NA side. Doop has one of the biggest egos on The forums, yes he can back it up, but why be a total ***** about everythig. I honestly think they need better competition in the game or they won't even come close if they make it past the national qualifier for WCG. It's a sad community and this game is slowly dieing because of it.
All you see anymore is top teams coming in wrecking teams and then a week or so later that team no longer exist. Reasons? No one wants to put forth the effort into a new team, and can't recruit anyone good enough to stay because they team hop or just leaves because they don't want to lose. You could spam Echo 8 from 3-12 or later and find a 5 at any time, now its like dead any more. i know its summer.
Another things is all these top players and teams have there own "click." If you aren't in there click of people for the top players/teams you are going to be stuck in the back of the bus without listening to the conversation.
It's simple this community will not change, I don't have faith and I seriously don't think anyone else really does either. The NA side of CF is total crap. I can't say much more about the EU community because I don't know much about them.
Cheers! -

Not even that people want to be the best. It's just the fact people take it too far for no reason. -
DatBooy. In life things aren't received they are earned. Remember that.No one wants to help any new teams that come into the game. People are stuck up and don't want any competition, it's sad. Can a very select few of us do anything about it? Not hardly. Us over here at NA side of CF are just stuck up, complete *****s, and pains in the arse. If you are a new team, you are a new team. You aren't something special. Other teams look at your team as just an opponent. When LPK was made, we were just another group of guys scrimming. The teams that were already around played us and we played them. The same thing happens today when a new team is made. An established team is looking for a scrim, a new team messages them. If they decide to play a room is made and the two teams scrim.
Voila! You have so many teams that are new to the game and trying to get help.
You have so many teams that are old to the game and win almost everything.
You have so many teams that don't really care about this game.
Where are these teams that are new to the game trying to get help? I don't see very many new teams with corporals. It's mainly people with Cpt ranks or better. I haven't seen very many 1.6 teams switch to crossfire. Cod teams? Source teams? You get the occasional combat arms team and that is about it. Even then the team that comes to mind already had some crossfire players to begin with. You have teams like vVv LifeLine, ProCore.LPK, Instinct, do work son. Trio, and some other notable top teams that are too stuck up to help any of the lower tier teams in CF over on the NA side.Doop has one of the biggest egos on The forums, yes he can back it up, but why be a total ***** about everythig.
You obviously have never even talked to me. I hardly have an ego. I speak my mind, yes. Ego, no. I help nearly every single person that messages me. Even if I am busy, I will get back to the people at a later time. Don't make random assumptions about people, you won't get very far in life that way.I honestly think they need better competition in the game or they won't even come close if they make it past the national qualifier for WCG. It's a sad community and this game is slowly dieing because of it.

That is because most of the top players have known each other for a long time. If you want to get into the click, maybe you should get to know people. It's amazing what making friends does for you. People who play on different teams in crossfire, often play other games together. There's quite a few people in cf that I will play league of legends. Why? Because they are friends. Quit whining and go meet people. This is ridiculous. It's simple this community will not change, I don't have faith and I seriously don't think anyone else really does either. The NA side of CF is total crap. I can't say much more about the EU community because I don't know much about them.

You know what is most ironic. Nothing has changed really since March 2009, until today. The community is pretty much the same. Everything you have talked about happens in every game. If I play a Code A SC2 player, he's not going to spend the next 5 hours after our game helping me out.
If you want help ask for it. Simple as that. I mean, did you even think of asking? -
DatBooy. In life things aren't received they are earned. Remember that.
This topic is about professionalism in competitive teams, not teamless forum trolls.

Guess how you get better? You scrim. Simple as that. You scrim, and then fix your mistakes. You keep doing this over, and over, and over. There aren't any secret tricks. When you aren't scrimming you should be in a room, going over things as a team. Coming up with strategies and deciding who is going to play where.
You obviously have never even talked to me. I hardly have an ego. I speak my mind, yes. Ego, no. I help nearly every single person that messages me. Even if I am busy, I will get back to the people at a later time. Don't make random assumptions about people, you won't get very far in life that way.

That is the weaker teams fault. If losing scrims makes you hate eachother and fight till the team breaks up, it just wasn't meant to be. It's a ton of hard work to make a new team good. If you don't want to put the effort in you won't. People realize, hey it's not worth it. All of these problems you talk about come from issues with the players you have chosen to make the teams. None of it is even related to "top teams not caring". If you recruit players with character, you will get quality out of them. If you recruit garbage, you get garbage.

You pretty much shut me down..
pce. -
yeah seriously no more tbagging...
but really no one really shows respect to anyone, it's normal because it's over the internet, you can talk sh1t without any consequences. People some how think they are bad ass when very little was accomplished. Apparently manners are void on the internet.
Agreed.
Usually, in real sports both teams shake hands and compliment the other team for besting them at whatever sport they are playing. Instead, on Crossfire you get rage quitting and hackusations, excuses for teams doing bad. Why can't team's be professional and respect a team that is better than them? The reason why the community is where it is, is not a age issue, a maturity issue. -
If you want help ask for it. Simple as that. I mean, did you even think of asking?
I understand that you may be open to helping someone, but not everyone is. That's simple fact. He's right in the sense that A LOT of competitive teams will not reach out and help others, they will just stick to themselves. I'm sure a lot of teams don't want to ask in afraid to get a response other than what you said, "If you want help ask for it". Some players will not be that gracious and I applaud you for doing so. However, such is not the case with everyone and the "closed-off" attitude by so many, seem to ruin the fact that few are willing to help, so they don't ask. -
Players don't get the fact that professionalism has to carry down from the macro the micro. Teams don't show professionalism if all of the players don't show it. Players don't show professionalism if the whole team as a whole doesn't. If the team shows professionalism, the players in the team that show it will carry that mindset out while they are doing things such as playing matches. Professionalism is never 100% in a team. Most players that play this game competitively are later on in their teen years. Teenagers can be mature, but some can be immature [notice; I'm not making a prejudiced statement, I'm giving a statement made out of common sense]. Any age can be immature or mature. You don't choose who plays your games, leagues, or matches.
If teams showed a decent amount of respect for each other, they would be able to play with each other without feeling the need to say, "You blow!" or something along those lines. They would have a mutual respect for each other, even giving out, "Nice shots!" if a nice shot was made.
Teams have to get past their egos. If all of the Cross Fire teams were humble, they would not get defensive after a loss. They would suck it up, and move on. Many teams don't get the fact that losing teaches you as well. Most of the top teams have lost crucial matches, and not have had to move on. They learned from these mistakes, and bettered themselves. If the top teams can take a loss, why can't regular teams?
Professionalism is also bound upon the fact that players blame other players for mistakes. If a player dies, it's usually someone other than their's fault. Very rarely will you find a player that is humble and states that, "That's my fault guys, sorry."
At the end of the day, if you act maturely and professionally, you will be able to get respect back. It's a chain of give respect; get respect. -
Hi, a team isn't a team without players. A team is made up of players.
A team can't show professionalism without professional players.
It boils down to the individuals in a team being able to put their attitudes and egos aside when the time is right and be able to carry on in a professional manner. -
Personally I don't know what to think of this. I'd like the idea of competitive gaming in generally crossfire scrims, but what gets to me is people who don't try and interact with the other team where, they would absolutely say nothing to you and you're clan. Unlike pubs you have a greater complementary side of respect and people saying "Nice shot!" or my personal favorite "Hac.k", and "Good Game" of course. Seeing a few names in the UK Server I've came across clans such as CHCN.Gaming, tGaming, more but can't remember who don't acknowledge you. "Nice shot mate". No reply, it's kind of rude and shows no respect what so ever to the opposite team.
Again I don't know what to think of this, or the understanding of things but I get some of the jizt. -
I've been askd ALOT for advice on 1 tapping or how many shots should i take long range or does it help if I duck and spray or running jumping and spraying. Ive always helpd others, they have always came to me because I don't turn them down nor do I lie to them, most people will say o nice shot when it really wasn't I'd tell them it was a ****ty shot but by doing that a month later they come up to me saying " hey thanks for your help my shot has got alot better" last night I ditched my team to help pullups don't know if my advice worked but I still helpd him for about 30-40 mins that's I could of spent with my team..
I also get alot of trash talk, really doesn't bother me. They are only talking because A they are losing a scrim or B they have nothing better to do with their lives other them saying **** over the Internet trying to make themselves feel better.. Tbh calling us mexicans really doesn't hurt our feelings makes us laugh really... But that besides the point.
All I'm saying if someone really wants help they will ask for it most of the " top " players ain't *******s unless your remix and he doesn't really mean what he says just trying to get a laugh but I'm pretty sure if I would ask him how he would play a site, or how he would take a site he would laugh at first but he would still help.
Don't be chickens ask for advice... -

Do you mind using a slightly larger size.
It's a tad hard to read on a 1920x1080 monitor.
To the point however, I do agree... To be honest the only person in the community I've ever really had an issue with... where if I asked for advice they would be rude or decline to help me. That was PimpDemNikes. Overall I'm going to say that the community isn't as bad as people make it out to be with the exception of the trash talk from player to player on the forums. Or the occasional thread trashing another team.
In some situations I can actually understand those threads... however it is just too constant and usually too based around singling out individual players within those teams. -
couldnt agree more, how ever havent seen such behavior too much in EU community.
We arent 20% as bad as the NA community. I mean.....if I'm in uk3-8 room with 'known players' then we have some dacent craic. Like, even if someone is like : ''oh rust, good score there. yablow'' etc etc I know they're only messing. There's only a small amount of people who are complete spastics. The biggest breakdown in the EU-competitive scene is the language barrier. Like there's tons more German, Romanian, Polish teams that play which I don't really know but they're English is rubbish. They usually end up playing in ESL's stupid ladders which are divided up practically into separate countries [Greek ladder, Polish ladder, beneleux etc]. And STILL, id say 50% of the uk servers is filled with cheating, farming, spamming, annoying, shiity turks.
However, even if I go play in Echo-8 there's insults flying everywhere. I don't even know 80% of the yankees over there anymore. Thats good and bad, to see how many more people think their competitive [yea, e8's for pro plairs] compared to the old days before the UK server. But most of these newer players seem to be complete idiots. I don't think i've really held down a decent conversation with anyone from NA in a pub besides the guys i've known since before uk-server times. -

A lot of the trash talk that happens in Ego-8 is also just joking around. It can be a bit serious when it comes to rivalries between teams or players.
However it really isn't all that bad. -
Talk is cheap, let's see people implement this.
My point is that it's not just up to the people. Kind of like a rebellious teenager, they aren't just going to change because their parents told them to change and left them alone. Someone has to step in and give them a slap in the head and punish them for doing wrong. You want to act like a moron on the forums and embarrass yourself and your team? Why don't you sit out a game and take some time to think about it? Etc.
