However, I think it could be taken one step further to the MODs and GMs. They can silent them a lot better than the community can, in a more permanent way. The management needs to get this community back under control. We can't do it by ourselves. There's no way.
Yep...the conduct expectations have been stated, I just don't understand why they are not enforced. My vote...clean house!
-Never insult any person or group of people on the forum.

thanks for the correction, which i didn't know about. I took a guess. But still, that's a ton of people. Still influential enough. The community affects the decisions of the mods.
Don't believe me? (This is asked in a polite, inquisitive way.)
Back when there was no XM8, the community was screaming for the XM8, saying "WE WANT IT!!!" >>> Now look. We have 2 XM8's.
o:
lol mines just a guess too, but when you log in to the game, theres really only 2 servers full, the rest are completely empty. if there was even 200,000 people that played this, crossfire would need about 10 more servers
theres probably 200,000 different accounts, but just about everybody has atleast 2-3.
i've made 5 in the time i've played. 3 i dont remember the log in stuff too, 1 is main, 1 is my alt in a pro clan with better guns than my main

Fallen_Hero wrote: »It is the fact that the average age of this community has dropped completely. Instead of being comprised of 18+ it's more like 11-16. A community like that, except for the select few mature people in that age, can not exist successfully to your standards.
I was around in the time of Team Fuzz, those were the good days honestly. Having fun and not taking every little thing so serious. The other problem is the people who have been around for a while and think they are better than everyone else, in-game and out of game. These are the egos that flood our forums with rude and derogatory statements so often.
ESPECIALLY in pubs, you can't be good at this game. You either suck or you're too good and you hack. There are select servers/channels where that doesn't apply as much as everywhere else, but for the most part that is the case, sadly.
To answer your question, we are messed up because of the attitude of the community. The overall attitude that I have seen is:
1) This game sucks.
2) The BR's suck.
3) Too many laggers
4) No reg damage sucks
5) This game isn't competitive
6) "I'm better than everyone else, so I can be rude and ego-filled-to-the-top all I want."
Honestly, it's sad. Something needs to change. Not sure how, but that's how it is right now. We have changed completely as a community and I wish something drastic and quick could be done about it.
Agreed.
When I play df2, we type mostly ns, gg, or chatting, joking, ..... It is just fun.
There were still cheaters, we don't bother, once most agreed, host or the player from host clan will kick. There are fight between clan, but most are still friends.
I typed much more at that time, and asked much at that time, because I know someone would reply.
In this game, I am too lazy to type, I am too lazy to read, and I am too lazy to answer, I don't even bother to join a clan because the maturity of clan members is very hard to predict.
Once it is not as what they expected, "hac.king". Even though a replay can be saved, they would not assuming and concluding before any thinking.
And in the forum, most don't care what other saying, Trashing BR is a popular expression to say I am among the good group.
Crossfire is really just a game. -
Yes it is just a game. However, it should still be a place with closely moderated rules. At least more moderated than they are now. Like I said, the rules need to be consistently enforced without question. Of course, the MOD team is not as big as it needs to be for this community. They simply are out-manned, in a sense. They do the job they can do, with what they have. There simply needs to be a change in the mindset that if a rule is broken, the offender is punished. Period. No leniency. No warnings. You break the rules, you get punished. Regardless of how little the offense.
For example - Z8 Forum Rules and CF Forum rules - A few rules from there:
- Do not make any Sexist, Sexually Themed, Racist, or Hate threads or posts.
- Never insult any person or group of people on the forum.
- Do not Flame each other! Use your manners and common sense.
- Do not troll the forums or feed any trolls.
- Do not reply to spam in anyway shape or form or you yourself may be blacklisted or worse. If you see any posts that have degraded to spam wars or have any other infraction in them please let a forum moderator know and they will take the appropriate steps.
- No bad jokes. (We mean it!)
- Do not post in all Capital letters. Additionally do not post in “leet” speak or with special characters/symbols.
Those are just to name a few. Every single one of these should receive infractions or temp bans in my opinion. Clean house. Get rid of the bad seeds in this community. -

It is really a pity that most of your list are morality in common sense. And modern society have created a generation who lack of morality.
Maybe they will learn it when they get older. -
great points by everyone. See, we are already taking the first step to making the community better. We are thinking about these rules that need to be enforced and thinking of ways to enforce them.
I thank all of those who said they respect me for my courage to say this to the community. Well, I've always had a tendency to not beat around the bush. I remember making a comment about DrenneRVC ***ing and backing it up with points when he was blatantly being "silently" rude and "quietly" arrogant on the forums around the time of the tourney. I'm lucky I wasn't banned. Once again thanks for the compliments.
One more thing before i shut up. If anyone wants this stickied, please say so. I'm sure this thread will open up a lot of minds to new ideas and really send the message across: this community needs a morality change. -

And this "generation" thinks they are badazz because they are behind a keyboard and can say (and be anyone) they want.
I feel like I am one of the oldest (in age) on here at 41, have been gaming since pong and Atari 2600 lol ...not that any of you care. ha ha -

Exactly to both points of view.
But its the Z8 games fault and responsibility.
There is terrible enforcement and managemet of these forums for one...
trolling,,, totally allowed, its in almost every thread. Useless comments and attacks on those making points or inquiries....allowed..
If you cleaned up the forum alone there would be more interaction and comrodery instead of almost every thread having some attack or useless post towards the topic.
I have been part of another gaming community for 15 years. Even through all of the changes of management and moderators etc etc the COC has always been enforced to an acceptable degree.
Here..no.
Not that any one individual MOD or GM etc is a bad guy. Just not doing the job as it was intended in almost every other community. Why have this silly COC and rules if they are not enforced.
This is a pretty decent game as far as play goes. terrible reg problems yes. too many laggers yes. An adjacent thriving hack business running all the while,, just google it..but still a fun game to play in between the problems.
there was also a thread where one poster mentioned that the creator of this game is also making money off of the h.acks. ( no info on that, leave it to you smarter guys to discuss and research ).
it is a shame really. The business model could be significantly better. -
Fallen_Hero wrote: »This should be stickied. It's been a pretty decent discussion so far. We've managed to get through 10 pages without TOO much indecency. That's pretty much a record in these parts

I have to agree that this thread is coming along smoothly. The only indecency I have seen is from about 3 or 4 people, and not even too major. Just a small flame. Every other thread I see has some big flame/troll or many small flame/trolls. Oh, and the rare worst, many big flame/trolls. -
heres what I say: Screw game Guard. Screw X-Trap. The LEAST we should go for is PunkBuster, and if we want to be efficient, get Halo 3's anti-cheat. It bans your profile, it bans your XBOX serial, and it permanently bans your IP. In this case, we should get a system that perma bans your PC/Mac.
What happens if your banned unfairly?
Also, xtrap is good. Punkbuster.. Look at it on warrock, new hacks literally every day. Here with xtrap? I rarely see a hacker, and its a **** load better than game gaurd. It just is. -

I agree with one of your points. X-trap is better than Game Guard. That's about it. Also, if you're banned unfairly and you weren't hacking, you can provide sufficient proof of that. It can always be appealed.
X-trap: VIPs and pub hacks are out and not patched. Never have been, never will be unless they do something differently. Like people say, Google it.
There isn't a legitimate "threat" from Z8 games to the users for hacking. People lose their accounts everyday I'm sure. They simply go make a new one. Over and done. There needs to be more. Enough said. -
Dextreme01 wrote: »If a person can simply play 100% legit and show respect toward others...why would there even be a risk of getting banned?

^^ What he said.
There shouldn't be a risk if you are playing legit. Then there is nothing for the ACS to find
. Don't be a cheater. You won't have a problem. -

Heh, from what i know about punkbuster, it's great, and for that amtter it is compatible with all OS'es. I know because Urban Terror uses/used it, and all cheaters were caught within days. I have seen only 10 cheaters within a year of playing in Urban Terror. -

Urban terror is open source... there's no need to spend money there apart from little gimmicks. You get everything on the platter lol. -
I completely and utterly agree. What seriously happened to this community, nowadays. I myself have quit CF, but may play a few years from now. Before, the community had hackers, and people united in a very organized, friendly way to stop hacking, and thus the PUB was started. People curse naturally, but we all had a blast with jokes while HAVING FUN on CF. Now, when I read forums for the hell of it and I'm bored, everything is so serious, and people get very disrespectful over small subjects or highly controversial topics posed in a nice way.
I have 2 examples:
1. There is going to be some fool who comes in and says: "QQ thread nub. Thread close plox. GG."
Heres my response: 1. I'm not a noob. I used to be part of the old TEAM FUZZ that was actually GOOD back then and didn't have farmers and hac.kers constantly raising their rank. I was part of the small and elite iTeam, which disbanded and reformed as ROFL Gaming, which I was a part of before I quit. I believe they disbanded and now are "We1Click" or something like that. So, I am not qithout my level of skill. 2. This is not a QQ thread. This is a serious question I am posting. A forum/community should be lively and helpful, not utterly rude and should be free of infinitesimal minds. There are people who do contribute greatly, and I thank them very much for making the world that much better of a place.
2. Someone (I wont name) posted a thread asking why the scar light is considered to be uncompetitive and "nooby". I saw many rude, abrupt responses, such as:
"He's probably a noob QQ about why his fave gun is so hated" OR
"cause its OP, you loser".
Sadly, no one answered his question adequately. I have posted a response on page... 16 or 17... was it? I completely explain why it is considered OP but i remain neutral, and any assumptions I make, I state them. I separate facts, opinions, and assumptions into categories.
Now... i'm on the topic of assumptions.
The main reason this community is so rude and belligerent is because they assume too much. for example:
"OMG 12-2... such a hac.ker. f11 nubs, he *** so hard..." ~~~My response: "If the guy is spinning or clearly shooting through walls with an insane degree of accuracy, then he must have chamms or aimbot. If he has a headset, a mic, and clanmates, hes on vent listening, analyzing, predicting, and compiling information to help guarantee his greatest degree of success."
or:
Look at the noob QQ example above with the scar light thread I talked about. Maybe this person just wants to know. Maybe he is QQ. Maybe he isn't set on buying the SL. Maybe this person is just intelligent.
Seriously people, assuming is bad. It gets people into many "debacles" and the innocent get caught in the CrossFire (pun intended).
That massive box of text is what I have to say. So, why are we so messed up?
* I only want answers from people who read the whole thread, as those too lazy to read this thread are too lazy to formulate an adequate answer. (In short terms, it's like taking a test without any knowledge of the subject.)
Thank you all!

Id you meant to offend/troll me LolliRoger then you didnot. And yes, your answer is completely valid. This just broadened this topic. It is not only the cf community. It is not only the gaming community. It is humanity. We as humans are the problem. Our inhumane behavior is quite ironic though.
Now, we know the problems are kids and brazillians. Why are they the problem? (rhetorical question)
heres my thoughts.
1. Neither know English enough to play adequately.
2. The internet's anonymous nature destroys their code of morality.
3. The kids' undeveloped minds and bodies put them at a disadvantage.
4. The Brazilians' ping makes their gameplay suffer.
5. These people have not experienced a great degree of education yet.
6. Cheating is the new trend.
7. Brazil's political state affects the minds of the countrymen.
Therefore, these people attempt to justify these things by cheating. -

There are many kids who play this game that aren't annoying at all. I know a BR who is a decent player, doesn't swear constantly, and speaks English fluently. Besides, people other than kids and BRs hack. Ageism and racism are ethical problems as well as cheating. -

Therefore, these people attempt to justify these things by cheating.I had no intention of either offending or trolling you. Its like you said; The human race is going down the crapper. Not just here within the CrossFire community, but everywhere. Internet is indeed one of the elements to blame. Out in the real world someone physically would teach you some manners for only half the things kids get away with nowadays on the Internet. So, instead of learning moral values, they learn how to act like an arse and not get caught. The same thing with cheating. There are no real repercussions for their actions. They cheat, they get banned, they start a new account or find something else to play. So what do kids learn from that? On the Internet I can do just about anything I want without giving a crap about someone else.
As for Brazilians. Well, if you already have the reputation for being a cheat, simply because of where you are born, and there are no real repercussions to cheating, then why bother proving other people wrong? Our attitude towards them is no more excusable than their attitude towards us. They are only living up to our expectations. So if we change our expectations of them, then maybe, just maybe, they will change as well.
Oh well, a girl can dream, right?
