what happened, guys?

What seriously happened to this community, nowadays. I myself have quit CF, but may play a few years from now. Before, the community had hackers, and people united in a very organized, friendly way to stop hacking, and thus the PUB was started. People curse naturally, but we all had a blast with jokes while HAVING FUN on CF. Now, when I read forums for the hell of it and I'm bored, everything is so serious, and people get very disrespectful over small subjects or highly controversial topics posed in a nice way.

I have 2 examples:

1. There is going to be some fool who comes in and says: "QQ thread nub. Thread close plox. GG."
Heres my response: 1. I'm not a noob. I used to be part of the old TEAM FUZZ that was actually GOOD back then and didn't have farmers and hac.kers constantly raising their rank. I was part of the small and elite iTeam, which disbanded and reformed as ROFL Gaming, which I was a part of before I quit. I believe they disbanded and now are "We1Click" or something like that. So, I am not qithout my level of skill. 2. This is not a QQ thread. This is a serious question I am posting. A forum/community should be lively and helpful, not utterly rude and should be free of infinitesimal minds. There are people who do contribute greatly, and I thank them very much for making the world that much better of a place.

2. Someone (I wont name) posted a thread asking why the scar light is considered to be uncompetitive and "nooby". I saw many rude, abrupt responses, such as:

"He's probably a noob QQ about why his fave gun is so hated" OR
"cause its OP, you loser".

Sadly, no one answered his question adequately. I have posted a response on page... 16 or 17... was it? I completely explain why it is considered OP but i remain neutral, and any assumptions I make, I state them. I separate facts, opinions, and assumptions into categories.

Now... i'm on the topic of assumptions.
The main reason this community is so rude and belligerent is because they assume too much. for example:

"OMG 12-2... such a hac.ker. f11 nubs, he *** so hard..." ~~~My response: "If the guy is spinning or clearly shooting through walls with an insane degree of accuracy, then he must have chamms or aimbot. If he has a headset, a mic, and clanmates, hes on vent listening, analyzing, predicting, and compiling information to help guarantee his greatest degree of success."

or:

Look at the noob QQ example above with the scar light thread I talked about. Maybe this person just wants to know. Maybe he is QQ. Maybe he isn't set on buying the SL. Maybe this person is just intelligent.

Seriously people, assuming is bad. It gets people into many "debacles" and the innocent get caught in the CrossFire (pun intended).

That massive box of text is what I have to say. So, why are we so messed up?

* I only want answers from people who read the whole thread, as those too lazy to read this thread are too lazy to formulate an adequate answer. (In short terms, it's like taking a test without any knowledge of the subject.)

Thank you all!

  • Sounds like the game started to get a lot of new players that either are or act like little children.
  • thanks for your reply. It may be one sentence, but it definitely makes sense. Short and sweet. (unlike my application for mod back in fall 2009).
  • I honestly agree with the above, I still see alot of people who have been on CF for a while now, but I also see a lot of new people who really aren't contributing at all to this game. I'm not talking about money wise though :P

PS: Um who are you again? Just curious :D Perhaps a former LT of Prodigy? I'm guessing here -_-
  • Well, I'm sure almost everyone knows this. Brazilians. They used to be 5% of the population but now it's over 40 or 50. They kick pro people, they cry about our ping, they insult us using curse words in their language thinking it's cool, and they hack...a lot. In a few years CF is gonna go to sh.it because of them.
  • I never had affiliation with prodigy. Here's my clans:

    Clans I liked:

    iTeam
    ROFL Gaming
    TEAM FUZZ

    Clans I regret being in:

    ItsJustAGame
    GetFragged

Clans who I had close relations on vent with:

    LND
    DefyLogic

We want it. We won't have it...dam them!
  • heres what I say: Screw game Guard. Screw X-Trap. The LEAST we should go for is PunkBuster, and if we want to be efficient, get Halo 3's anti-cheat. It bans your profile, it bans your XBOX serial, and it permanently bans your IP. In this case, we should get a system that perma bans your PC/Mac.

People have been wanting something similar to that for a while now to be honest. Now if only someone would listen :/

PB with MD5 works most of the time

Punk buster doesn't do anything on games like this. Ask [MOD]Greycloak

I rather have scrim spot from wogl tbh.

As for the community it is the Brazilians and the age of most of the people.
  • Also, Brazilians and all other foreigners need to be IP restricted so we don't have to suffer.

    or give em a server

servers are not that expensive and BR's tend to buy ZP
  • It is the fact that the average age of this community has dropped completely. Instead of being comprised of 18+ it's more like 11-16. A community like that, except for the select few mature people in that age, can not exist successfully to your standards.

I was around in the time of Team Fuzz, those were the good days honestly. Having fun and not taking every little thing so serious. The other problem is the people who have been around for a while and think they are better than everyone else, in-game and out of game. These are the egos that flood our forums with rude and derogatory statements so often.

ESPECIALLY in pubs, you can't be good at this game. You either suck or you're too good and you hack. There are select servers/channels where that doesn't apply as much as everywhere else, but for the most part that is the case, sadly.

To answer your question, we are messed up because of the attitude of the community. The overall attitude that I have seen is:

    1) This game sucks.
    2) The BR's suck.
    3) Too many laggers
    4) No reg damage sucks
    5) This game isn't competitive
    6) "I'm better than everyone else, so I can be rude and ego-filled-to-the-top all I want."

Honestly, it's sad. Something needs to change. Not sure how, but that's how it is right now. We have changed completely as a community and I wish something drastic and quick could be done about it.

    They don't deserve it IMO.

Ah...Team Fuzz. I remember being in that clan. So peaceful and fun...

Then the "Alguem BR?!" came in and *FART SOUND*. Crossfire went down the drain.
  • CrossFire went down the drain as soon as people stopped having fun playing it. I don't see many people on these forums anymore actually saying they enjoy this game. They just complain about it.

    AKA the first BR.

And one of the main reasons why I almost have no fun is...Brazilians...

    Ireallycouldcareless.
    ePride is nothing.
  • Well as much as these issues make the game play worse, I don't think the intention of the thread creator into a flame the BR's thread. So let's try and keep his thread off that :D lol.

My Vote: Give the BR's their own server or auto-sort ping with the servers, i.e. what CF China is doing.
  • There are some servers / channels that seem more mature.

Try Alpha 7 or West Cost 1 sometime.

same with me brazilians ruin everythin

As I said, there are a select few server/channels that are better than most. Thank you for reiterating :D

That doesn't stop the BRs from playing anywhere else.

You mean a MAC address ban? Yeah this is by far the most efficient way, and also means any hackers, if found guilty, would have to purchase a whole new system in order to play again... Wouldn't really be worth the hassle to them.

I agree, I just think that everyone wants to be "more Pro" than the next guy, therefore its tough to have any sort of comradery...just the nature of the game.

But regarding this forum, I do believe that its up to the Administrators and Moderators to set the tone (I don't mean by just locking posts). Right now, the forum just seems like a place to vent and trash each other...not very useful. I personally would like to see members simply show respect toward one another.
