Internet is indeed one of the elements to blame. Out in the real world someone physically would teach you some manners for only half the things kids get away with nowadays on the Internet. So, instead of learning moral values, they learn how to act like an arse and not get caught. The same thing with cheating. There are no real repercussions for their actions. They cheat, they get banned, they start a new account or find something else to play. So what do kids learn from that? On the Internet I can do just about anything I want without giving a crap about someone else.
As for Brazilians. Well, if you already have the reputation for being a cheat, simply because of where you are born, and there are no real repercussions to cheating, then why bother proving other people wrong? Our attitude towards them is no more excusable than their attitude towards us. They are only living up to our expectations. So if we change our expectations of them, then maybe, just maybe, they will change as well.
Oh well, a girl can dream, right?

Well said.

I think the other issue is that in the end this game is a business to the management. They don't want to drive people away. By being the Moderators that enforce the rules every day, to every line and word, using temp and permanent bans like they should, people would leave this game. But what they don't seem to understand is: Yes at first people would leave this game and probably go play something else. But in the long-term, having a better controlled and professional community would bring in better players and a better community. It's that simple.
more people will leave this game if they dont do anything about it..the good players are leaving. I myself is almost leaving already..if i see the same hacks on the next patch, im getting out of this game! -
CookieMunzta wrote: »You mean a MAC address ban? Yeah this is by far the most efficient way, and also means any hackers, if found guilty, would have to purchase a whole new system in order to play again... Wouldn't really be worth the hassle to them.
Wrong. MAC address is usually tied to the ethernet adapter you're using. I have several laying around.
Also some allow you to change the MAC address.
What's needed is some sort of system that takes a snapshot of your hardware setup and hashes it. Actually I think PB does something similar. -
Ok, I think a flame may begin.. I'm just sensing it. Let's not go to the point of flaming. Someone on the page before implied I was being "agist" and xenophobic. I have nothing against children or Brazilians. Remember, I hold a neutral viewpoint on this until real decisions can be made. However, what I stated is true. Lolli-Roger, an amazing response on your part.
So, I suppose morality is what the internet community is missing. Believe it or not, I think the source of the problem is not the players, but all-new items.
By human nature, we all strive to be the best. I can practically say this as a fact: Everyone here has dreamed of not working and earning millions of dollars by the day. In the same way, when something new is introduced, we want it. For me, it is iPhone 4, since I ma eligible for an upgrade from iPhone 3G. Sorry. I digress.
The introduction of these things ultimately caused the downfall of the crossfire community:
1. SPOP (the amount of complaints I hear by day grows exponentially.)
2. MP5 Adv: yeah, when it was introduced, people went crazy like they go today when they see... say... a DE Scope?
3. M4 Custom (see MP5 Adv comment)
4. Armor.... this was so controversial. End of stroy.
5. AK Camo: People saw it as having the recoil of an SL when it came out. It was so easy to control compared to the regular one. I agree because I have used both in the past.
6. Black market: people were crying when they couldnt win a zp gun.
Need I explain why the above 6 reasons spoiled (oops, I just explained) the community?
Sincerely,
iRapidV2 -
QQ thread nub. Thread close plox. GG
NO just kiddnig lol..
You are 100% right..nowadays ranks mean NOTHING thanks to farmers*points at ADIGA(who serisouly needs to get a life)* and the community is full with Scar light shiit..

iRapidV2Its a known fact that the more you give people, the more they expect to get in the future. Only a rare few can break free from this negative line of thinking.

And that line of thinking isn't going to be broken here. Like I have said in this thread before, this is a business in the end. G4Box is in it to make money. Regardless of what new items are released, no matter how stupid/pointless they are, people will still put money into this game to get it. I can't even imagine how much ZP per day is bought overall in this game, it must be ridiculous. It's never going to stop either. People MUST have what they don't have i.e new zp weapons, items, etc.
Again, I think first and foremost the attitude of the community has to change. For one, these forums are a mess. The management of this game HAS to change the direction of this community out-of-game first. That's what they have control over. The flaming, the trolling, the bad attitudes, the rude comments, the negative statements towards certain people or certain events - These rules aren't getting enforced as they should be.
I see more flame threads, hate threads, and negative comment threads than I do anything else. If people spent HALF the time they have making USEFUL threads to help this community, it would be a good start. Sadly, there are more people than not that would say, "It's the forums. Nobody cares." <--- That's the attitude in general that has to change before anything else can change. Just my opinion. -
http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=66326 problem solved.
It's funny we got into talking about people making assumptions on this forum. You assume it's the BR's who have this community going down the drain. That's the child-like mentality that's taking this community down the drain. It's more than just that. It's rules not being enforced, it's negative attitudes, mindless trolls and flames, hate threads, everything. Not just BR's lag, hack, and speak a different language in this game. You just proved our points in what needs to be changed in this community. Thanks for the example :-/ -

Let's all give it up for Fallen_Hero. Sir, I can not reiterate what you said in the last 2 posts you made. I hold tremendous respect for you. By the way, add me to your friends list on forums. If i play Cf again ever, I would love to play alongside you.
This thread needs a bump. Theres stuff in here people need to read.
ONtopic:
yeah, assumption truly ruin CrossFire. Most players assume the people they play against are noobs due to their overgrown ego. Therefore, if any of those noobs has a KDR greater than 1.2 in game they must cheat. I'm a victim of these people, especially in GM. That's cause I use the soundbar built into my lappy to detrct ghost breath. Yeah, its hard on a soundbar:
heres the sound pattern. L=left and R=right.

Unfortunately, this thread will get a lot of views. However, most people won't take it to heart. It'll go into their head and out as soon as they leave the thread. There will be that select group that actually gets something out of this, but not many. Like I said, with the ill-enforcement of community rules, people now have a lack of respect for them. It's going to be too late to clean up pretty soon. I know the GMs and MODs have a lot to do, but enforcing the rules, ALL OF THEM, is part of the job description. There should be a lot more closed/deleted threads and infractions/banned users on this forum. A lot of people might take a little closer look with a little more respect if this community was under control.
