Shotgun has large spread, with luck one of his shells will hit you and he will spray. Considering the large spread he might continue hitting you while you are doing IJ. That's why I hate shotguns. -

pros and cons..
*u can run away easily from them (cos of their low range)
*u can hardly avoid them if they are close to you xD
-however.. smth that i rlly like is when one team mate (me being GR) is defusing, i start spraying with the shotgun to him (in case a ghost is near which is almost always xD) -
maybe shotguns are for those who cant aim but they are in the game so that people use them, and BL has an advantage if they use axe or shovel... so i dont care if they tell me that i use a shotgun cause i cant aim, im usin it for an advantage as thy use the axe or shovel

Shotgun is not advantage as you are limited to close range. Lol. -
best GM gun is or the galil,XM8,AK,m16
I must disagree on all but the Galil and XM8. Galil is ownage, that's been proven before. The XM8 to me has the feel of the AUG, which as you know I am religious about.
The M16 is little under powered to be used in GM and the AK has to much recoil to be effective IMO.
As for the best gun, I use an XM1014, Scar Light or the Kriss Super V.
Let me run the pros and cons of each by you.
The XM1014 is the weapon I favor in GM. It has maximum stopping power for ghosts and can, unlike conventional rifles and pistols, fire as you load. This feature is what gives the XM the greatest damage output. The other nice feature is the pure shrapnel spread of this weapon will root out ghosts in a heartbeat, to maximize the potential of this weapon turn your game's blood on under the options tab.
The Scar Light is the sister of the Scar Heavy. The Heavy reigned supreme in the game until the Light. The Heavy has more damage output then the Light per bullet, but the Light is more automatic, with less of that good ol' he-man recoil.
Now finally for the Piece De Resistance, The Kriss Super V, branded "A Noob Smiting Hammer" by FSR reviews, this weapon is my second choice to bring into a ghost match, the sheer numbers of rounds this weapon will make ghosties run like the British did at New Orleans.

Ak's recoil makes you able to snipe ghosts from some distances + predictable spray pattern -
i agree with JakL4uren those are the toys that ghosts dont wana see, u may be limited to close range but the ghosts cant get anywhere near u cuz if they do ur gona sendem flyin, only if they dont move until ur next to them but in that case u cant really escape with a rifle neither but the chanses are higher to esxape with the shotgun. thats my opinion

sometimes, shotguns are pretty overrrated, everywhere you go with XM or SPAS, ppls will call ya shotty noob
