This is because of your internet. This error is caused by bad connection to HGWC. So either change your internet connection (new plan, or bade wire etc) or try wireless from other internet around you.

Meanwhile try this
1 - Go to z8games folder delete the contents of these folders - HGWC, log, report and xtrap. Only delete the contents and not the folder themselves.
2 - Go to your windows folder and delete all the contents of Prefetch folder.
3- Go to users/youruseraccount/appdata/local/temp/ and delete all the contents of temp folder and skip those that can't be deleted.
4- Download and copy msvcr71.dll, msvcr80.dll, msvcr100.dll in your z8games/crossfier folder and system32 folder. Replace if already present.
5- Download this hosts file and copy it into your windows/system32/drivers/etc folder. Replace if already present.

Reset your pc and start crossfire using patcher.exe as adminstrator found in CF folder.

If this works then you won't have to change your internet. If it doesn't then you have no choice. You can try to take your pc to a different location like your friend's house or some internet cafe etc to check that on different connection you still get the error or not before changing your connection. If on different connection your pc has no error in running the game then you can know for sure that your internet needs to be changed.

Things ive done to make crossfire work, deleted antivirus, stopped my firewall, updated system windows, got my latest updated gamecard or what ever card, opened up all my ports, of course ran the game in admin, and much more....

Just wait for some time after servers comeback on and if you get that error again try updating the game on your on

1.Go to cf folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Z8Games\CrossFire

2.you will find version.ini , right click on it uncheck read only , apply , close

3.open version.ini and you will see latest version number currently it is 1162 maybe after somemore update or so it will be 1163 atm after servers are back on and u still cant get into the game then only do this make it 1163 save it and close.

4. right click on version.ini and check on read only then apply and close

5. run patcher from the same folder if it is correct version it will download the files if it says failed to download patch-list file then change the number back to 1162 save and stuff. This wont happen unless 1163 is not the current patch.

enjoy but right now im getting the server error too , due to server updates so just wait

Thanks for the kind words, and to avoid the possibility of getting banned for impersonating staff (which I didn't I guess) I'm not a GM or mod (or mini-mod), but only a newb trying to be helpful.

And about 100K ZP lol, well yeah I wanted to have a try to win if I could but largely the part of my brain (which processes the helping related stuff) wanted to help him out of his mess. But the other part of my brain (which does the thinking) knew that there wasn't even a remote possibility that he would be giving a 100K ZP, EVEN if I solved his problem. But yeah I'd be glad if I really helped him solve his problem.

first if you have more than "1 Pc "

make copy and paste from game to another Pc and start it ~~> that's to know if that Error from the game or from your Pc .. if you don't have another pc

see if you have an old Crossfire Folder and lunch it "download new update" and see if that error happen again or not

then tell me what happen .

firts my IGN:GEORGE0456 CF NA
1.-uninstall Cf and dellete all folder of CF.
2.- open CCleaner and clean your system.
3.- install CF but no run.
4.- the problem is cause for the new patch, this new patch stropped the host of window, or u use program, and u need repair the host. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034/es and repair the host of windows. choice 1 option.
5.- run patcher_cf.exe like administration .
6.- enjoy the game.
7.- pay me zp

posdata: after the patch the game u receive this message, repair again the host.

Try The Steps

try doing these steps in order although i dont guarantee success by doing these steps i found while searching the internet :

1) Restart the computer.
2) Remove any hacking utilities you may have used.
3) Uninstall Crossfire the usual way:-
Windows XP > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Windows Vista/Windows 7 > Control Panel > Programs and Features (or Uninstall a Program)

4) Restart the computer.
5) Delete the Crossfire games folder.
Navigate to the installation location, for example:-
My Computer > C:\Program Files>Z8Games >
Right click the ‘Crossfire’ folder and Delete

6) Download, install and run CCleaner.
Select Cleaner > Analyse and then 'Run Cleaner'
Select Registry > Scan for Issues and then 'Fix selected Issues'
Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide! (Latest version 2.36.1233)

7) Restart the computer.
8) Disable all anti-virus and spyware/anti-malware programs you have running.
EG: Norton, McAfee, Spybot, Windows Defender

9) Download and Install the latest Crossfire installer.
At the time of writing this, the current file details should be:
File Name : CrossFire_Setup_v1052_xfire.exe
File Size = 467MB (478,912KB)
(When downloading it may show files size as 468MB)

10) Leaving your anti-virus and malware programs disabled – Test the game.
11) If all goes well, restart the computer and test the game again.

Here's a thought, try playing a different game on your internet, like wow or something. My college has a firewall set up to block video games from being played. So it could be that all games are blocked, though usually it gives you the "disconnected from server" message when this is the case. If your internet blocks the game you can try proxying the firewall to get around it, though I've never attempted such a thing, I'm sure there's a youtube video somewhere explaining it.
Another thing you can try, make sure you updated your flash player, graphics software and adobe reader, adobe software makes a huge impact on the game. Some people think that it makes no difference, but I couldn't play any games on this pc till I installed reader. Also suggest making sure the game is running as administrator, right click the shortcut or main file and go to compatibility mode and set the check mark, also might have to try compatibility mode for windows xp pack 3, or windows 7 mode.
Every little thing you do for this glitchy stupid game has some effect or another.

Its not a problem on your side

The game protection's server is down along with the rest of z8's servers. You can not connect simply because there is nothing to connect to. Just wait. They will be up in a few hours. There is nothing anyone can do atm.
