Farming Bots and 3rd party programs which affect CF

Attention Mercenaries,

Please read the following for a very important update.

Recently you may have seen some updates by X-Trap that also include blockages for Farming bots made from macro programs.

This has now also been extended to our auto banning process of HGW.

Cause and Effect

We continue to work on a daily basis to fight hackers in the game, but we also recognize when 3rd party programs are being used against the general enjoyment of the population.

This includes a recent rash of farming bots. These bots were designed to work specifically with CrossFire to increase exp rates, farming and in general act negatively on the game. It should also be known that distribution and use of the files used to create this bot often results in a Keylogger being installed on your computer.

This falls under the rules of using 3rd party programs to gain unfair advantage which is at the heart of hacking and malicious abuse of the game and it's population.

We would like to make a note here about "farming". Legitimate farming, that is if you want to play the game with your friends and create VIP only rooms designed to boost your exp to the maximum levels is fine. 8-10-16 physical players in a room all self killing and/or farming is something we cannot stop as it's part of the game. This is when macro programs (3rd party programs) are involved and designed specifically for CrossFire with the intent on pushing efficiency to beyond human levels.

Do not Sell Accounts

While we don't have a problem with you, or your friends joining a room and "farming" in a legitimate way. We do take issue with using 3rd party programs designed to increase the efficiency beyond normal capacity.

It should also be noted that the "value" of an account is only in it's value to the player, we provide the tools to show off your account (clan page) to others. And we love that people want to brag about their CrossFire accomplishments. But we also recognize that players may be upset because of this banning because they want to sell their accounts after farming.

For these players we have no Sympathy for. Leveling up an account for the sole purposes of selling the account is something we cannot condone and will be banned/removed for doing so.

That being said, we do understand the sudden nature of this update and would like to offer some solace to accounts that may have been affected by this change.

Resolution and Consequences
1) Any account who has been permanently banned by this will have their "ban level" stepped down to 30 days. Consider this your first and last warning to please not hack our game, which now includes the use of farm bots. Your honorable soldier ribbon will still be removed from your account because of your previous hacking history.

2) Any account which has been "first time" banned for this will have the ban dropped and their honorable soldier ribbon reinstated.

3) Accounts that have not received a permanent or first ban for this will remain closed. These programs act negatively on CrossFire and you should never be hacking in the first place. You must live with the consequences of the actions you have taken.
Consider this an apology for implementing this without prior notice. However, using farm bots and hacks in the future will be treated with the same scrutiny as others.

This will affect all bans issued on October 7th ONLY. Prior to 5pm EDT. Additionally this ONLY pertains to bans related to farmbot / macro programs.

In the interest of openness. At the time of this message 254 players have received some type of ban for using the particular macro program, approximately half of those bans are what we would consider high level. And even less of these are "first time" bans.

From what we have seen, most players who have used this macro program have hacked in the past. Please note that if you received a permanent ban, which will be removed, this does not mean your account has been "reset". You are still in line to receive another permanent ban if you continue to hack CrossFire, which now includes the use of Macro programs designed for CrossFire.
