As for Solutions to the problem.

First make sure your running Cross Fire in administrator mode.

McAffee has updated their program and should no longer detect any CF Files are false positives.

Some free virus scanners are detecting some CF files as trojans. This is a FALSE POSITIVE. CF Contains no malicious files.

Make sure to disable your virus scanner during all phases of the game. Download, Installation and Running. At the very least as a test to see if the game functions normally under these conditions.

We are specifically looking to see if there is a common anti virus program that is causing these errors while the game is running.

These threads may contain helpful hints to getting your Cf running.



Lastly, Xtrap has been known to conflict with SOME video caputuring and voice communication software. Skype, Fraps etc. may not run properly or conflict with the game when running. Make sure to try and close those extra programs down when running CF. Again, as a test to see if the game will function without them.

We will be looking for Xtrap updates that will fix some of these compatibility issues, but right now we need to collect as much data as possible.

I have the same problem with my XTRAP and I'm using Windows 8 too ... but I think, CF should use another anti-hack system, because it looks so easy to by pass it ...

i have tried reinstalling more than twice still did not work.

Tech Help

I had trouble with WIn XP 64 and never could get CF to run so I quite bothering. Now Im on Win 7 and first load the game would start but when I got in game it would immediately disconnect me with an error message.
I reloaded CF and reinstalled with no virus program running. But now when I sign in the game starts then it gives me a "hack tool detected". What is this and what could I have on that is causing this.
Any help appreciated. Thx

This isn't the normal issues with connecting. There's been server instability issues for the last couple of days. They are trying to "improve" this since it started.

Xtrap is not able to update the lastest file, it dont shows any error since the updating wnidow just stop at random progress... Anybody facing the same? I cant enter the game...
I tried more than 5 times...
I have added the files into exception folder for AVG antivirus, restart computer as well.

Fraps, bandicam problems!

I make cf edit clips for YouTube, but xtrap doesn't let me record the game with bandicam and fraps. How am I supposed to record my clips now? Are there any programs that xtrap does work with?
