1. What Anti Virus program are you using?
Avast Internet Security
2. Have you added any xtrap or game files to an exception list?
No.
3. Have you tried disabling the virus program during installation and running of the game?
No.

I've turned anti-virus off and now it works fine and when i turn it on ingame i cant enter a room somebody knows why?

I get this error, every time I open crossfire. I also tried deleting crossfire than downloading a fresh copy but that didn't work. I also tried restarting crossfire and my computer but still it doesn't work.

My computer is windows 7 service pack 1 and got all the requirements.

Yes, i have added the game files and xtrap files to my exception list.

3. Have you tried disabling the virus program during installation and running of the game?
Yes, it does not solve the issue, i have tried lots of different things but nothing works.

I am fairly experienced with computers but this is one error i cant figure out.

Stupid thing

All the hacks that are constantly in this game and this stupid thing is either detecting my skype, or my Microsoft security essentials as a hack today. WTF. If you cant get rid of these hackers then post them for all to use and stop the software from kicking those of us who dont use hacks.

Got the same problem since today. The day before yesterday, everything was fine.The only system changes I made were uninstalling my scanner and changing virtual memory settings. Resetted virtual memory to the setting it was before, but game mysteriously won't start anyway. Will try clean reinstall now and post if it works.

To Firewall (Sunbelt PF), not to Avast, but if Avast had a problem with that it would say so. Checked container, no game, xtrap oder hgw files in there.

Yes, no result.

Nope, just tried a clean re-install, meaning, YES, I uninstalled the game, YES, I deleted the remnant installation folder and files and YES I deleted the folder in the <my documents> folder and then reinstalled with freshly downloaded installer from this very website. Still doesn't work please suggest ideas, this came out of nowhere ^^

I'm getting the same error after Xtrap patched.

I dont know what is wrong with mine.But I do know that if i try to run CrossFire it gets to HGW and after HGW goes away it NEVER gives me crossfire.So I tried to Reinstall CrossFire (uninstall and then install).But after I uninstalled it I tried to install CrossFire again and it gave me the download/installation page where u can see its progress(the little green bar showing how far it is).But when it gets to 100% and goes away it doesnt do anything else.It wont actually install CrossFire after it says 100% and goes away.I tried 5 times to install it after that but it goes away and nothing happens.I DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG BUT I CAN SAY WHAT I SAID.And i dont know what u mean by exception list thing for some help figuring out whats wrong.But i can say i use Norton360.

Finished what??? F*cking xtrap still only gives me that cryptic error message ^^ Patch applied, but that was for the game anyway, not for xtrap.

AV = Avast (free version)
Avast only asks if CF should be run in sandbox, i allways allow it to run normaly.
Firewall = zone alarm free, Crossfire allowed to run on request.
firewall and avast both closed during install and during running of game.
My daughter has same specs on her computer as me even os (Windows home premium)
and she has had no problems at all.

now i got new weird error message from X-Trap that says ( an up normal game client detected please reinstall game client) (Error Field 31-0300-00000000-219) .
Note : i got this message after logging to crossfire and start playing with max 1 min then i got DC , really need help to solve this issue,

I use the free version of AVG, and I have moved the file to virus vault, so CF won't start now.

I have done this aswell.

Ever since the May update, my computer has not been able to pass the X-Trap loading. When I attempt to load Cross Fire, I get an error after X-Trap loads completely.

Some functions of the operating system has been corrupted. Please, close any program which is affecting game client and restart the system.
