doesn't strike me as much different than an eighth person joining the team within the 20 seconds.

just another body to shoot at, different nametag.
It's usually not a problem if its done by just one player. However, if 3 or 4 people on the same team start rejoining after you killed them, it becomes a bit more than an "eighth player joining".

I've encountered that a couple of times in both SnD, as well as GM games.
  • Imagine a soccer player faking an injury everytime he comes near the opposing team's goal just to get a penalty. Annoying, fake, idiot etc.... this is how I feel when you guys do it. It's just lame but it's useless questioning people of the crossfire community about morals and such. ******ation 1-0 Fairplay

Of course, because you can only be good at this game if you play competitively. Better get you're head out of your ass, doop, unless you are planning on recycling that #$@*!!.

So lets put this to some test.

    8vs8

team 1 kill 7 of the other team player and 3 of them die.

    5(8)vs1(8)

both death players decide to rage quit at the mark of 2:10

    5(5)vs1(1)

Both team got new joinner to their team before the mark of the 2:00
    1 5vs2
    2 5vs3
    3 5vs4
    4 5vs5
    5 5(6)vs6(5)
    6 6vs6
    7 6(7)vs7(6)
    8 7vs7
    9 7(8)vs8(7)
    10 8vs8

So no matter what I see it seems even a team with an increased number of rejoiner got about the same chance as winning as the other team, 5vs2 will let more fire power hit these 2 so they would die faster and deal less damage.

also the current team have more experience about that room than others, they know where the bomb is, where the other people might be or also where the other people will respawn. So actually I don't believe in much disavantage.
  • It only makes a big difference if a pro player does it, not just some rubbish guy who will probably die instantly again.

Now lets put this in a different scenario. One where it actually does pose a problem.

8vs8 GM. 4 ghosts manage to get the drop on 4 GR before the 2 minute marker, taking damage in the process. These 4 GR members rejoin before the 2 minute are up, and are restored to full health. It's still the same 8vs8, but now with 4 ghosts that are almost dead, and a GR team at full strenght, despite the 4 kills the ghost team got.

The bomb is planted and the ghosts are waiting to defend the bomb. Then 1 of the GRs enters the bombside, sprays around, and kills all 4 ghosts that were down on their HP with a single shot. Or he throws a grenade and all 4 die because the range of the blast was just big enough to rob them all from what little HP they had left

You now get why rejoining is considered unfair?

Has nothing to do with playing competitively. Has everything to do with not being a noob.

    Sounds about right.

"ghost mode" if the gr die in the first place, they will die again, if they do get hit by them before killing them they most likely going to get killed because you talk about ghost mode. Also seriously who cares ? Just try to kick them or whatever it's something that give me more frags so I'm just happy with it.

How to clutch 9 kills in a single rounds :D
