My understanding on how the crates work.

Client sends the server a message as soon as the person lets go of the spinner

Server replies, basically acknowledging that the client is spinning (?)

Server then sends the items won



This all happens basically instantly upon releasing the spinner button.

From a mathematical perspective, if there is a limited amount in a fixed, allotted amount of time, then the actual randomization of players is going to be rather limited.
What would be nice to know, is if the amount is fixed, or if it is variable up to a certain point, for perma's won. That would be the deciding factor in crates.

I have spun alot of crates and I watch when people win, but I haven't really found any kind of pattern. It maybe timing but it's not any exact time, since we do see people win the exact same gun at the exact same time often (and it's usually with GP guns, maybe because more people spin GP crates).

If there's any sequence then it's random enough it would be hard to figure out since you'd have to get everyone to stop spinning crates to record the patterns or have everyone spinning the crates report in.

The CF crates aren't anything new, alot of F2P/cash shop games have these grab bags.. from what people have told me in other games the item is picked when you click it, not when you buy it. Since it's all server side, the servers send the random item when you click it.

I don't know about your lag... when I spin the crates and I'm lagging I usually just get the swat guys... and then I disconnect alot.. when I log back in sometimes the crate counted and is gone and items in my storage and sometimes it didn't count and crate is still in my crate storage.

not when you buy it. It's set once you spin it. The spinning chooses the "box of candy" with or without the "blue candy"

I can confirm with my testing that the gun winning is announced as soon as you spin the crate. Which makes it interesting...as BlindRob said, this implies that the gun winning is chosen without spinning determining anything, but the timing of the winning always gets me. I always win around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, in the latter half of the minute.

the way of winning weapon crates is easy ahah is just by spending money ahah you win if u spend money. my friend as just bought crates with 30k gp and never won and then he donate and on that they he won beretta. i won two weapons already too spending money...that's the answer =D

I have won multiple guns from the same crates on diff spots.. If the m4a1 E is set to win every 800 spins then the 800th spin gets it. Computer resets after win. Simple but shady idea. But I have won alot and also bought alot.
