"I'm 67. I think I've been around. I'm an American photographer, who lives in Europe; I've been around the world 4 or 5 times depending on how you count; I trained as an outreach-worker in the red-light district in A'dam; lived in jungles of Central & South America; worked in shooting galeries and crack-houses from Silicon Valley to San Juan, from Manhattan to Moscow; I've spent a lot of time in Africa - currently working on a book on Pays Dogon, Mali. I've also seen some combat... I write all that only to contextualize, the fact I've never seen anything or been anyplace as ****ed up as the society you showed In West Point, Monrovia, Liberia... Never... blew my mind... Great job, getting in and out with your ass and that footage... Really Good work.... worthy of respect..." -

A Momentary Lapse Of Reason?
"If you have a family or a friend who publicizes that you’ve disappeared they too can be detained. If anybody helps you with a taxi ride or attempts to give assistance to your family in the circumstances of your disappearance, they too can be detained."

Saturday 17 2011.
As Cairo heads into the second day of clashes and riots, with the military charging protesters with batons raised, we are left to wonder what will end this battle of wills. With the Health ministry reporting 9 protesters killed and 350 injured yesterday, and today the push by the military to secure the landmark square Tahrir, we saw soldiers storming in amidst an arena of thick black smoke that filled the skies. This followed the eruption of a fire in the area around the upper house of parliament. The Egyptian prime minister Kamal el-Ganzouri said the violence was "Counter-revolutionaries" stating the attack was against the countries revolution. He claims his government wouldnt assualt peaceful demonstrations with any force and states the protesters "threw rocks and destroyed everything they came across".
The fighting, Cairo's first outbreak of violence since the start of elections on November 28, began after images were published online of the badly bruised face of an activist, who said he had been detained by military police at a sit-in outside cabinet the previous day and beaten. Protesters have been occupying the area in front of the cabinet office for more than two weeks, preventing Ganzouri and his cabinet from meeting there. They are demanding that the country's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) immediately cede authority to a civilian government. With soldiers on the roof of parliament throwing whatever they can lay their hands on upon protesters, including sheets of glass, bottles, rocks and at one point even furniture, a more riotous scene you couldnt imagine. Protesters have been occupying the area in front of the cabinet office for more than two weeks, preventing Ganzouri and his cabinet from meeting there. Claims from the military blame this uprising on protesters trying to derail the on-going election process. Personally I think it is more a response to the militaries involvement as a whole.

In the UK we have "Amber warnings" (the second highest level) as snow spreads over southern and central Scotland, Wales, the Midlands and southern England.
Thirty-three flood alerts, mainly in the south-west, were forecast also.
In the Phillipines a storm kills more than 400. The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) said 436 people are now confirmed dead based on a body count in funeral parlours. The hardest-hit areas were in the cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, with many houses being swept into the sea. Most of the dead were swept away while they slept when floodwaters tore through their homes following 12 hours of torrential rain. -

The thing with this boy is that he has had a lot of criticism on him about being seeming gay and most people call him a fa.ggot or a ho.mo which I find utterly disrespectful. Hopefully one day everyone will learn to get along with this kind of stuff. -
