Please don't use the clan system.

communication shouldn't be a problem if you're on a team, the last actual team i was in (momentum) we all had each others phone numbers to contact each other and if we needed someone to scrim a. they either get on vent b. we text them. and during game of course we used ventrilo
i was on momentum before you joined and i can tell you for a fact we used clan chat all the time. you guys used clan chat all the time as well. come on don't give me that bullsh1t. you honestly called 4 people to tell them the pass to a room? everyone uses that sh1t.
PS: ezykill was on yesterday -
There's no point to it. You have other communication methods that don't have the negative effects that the clan system does.
the only negative effect is taking gp from your inventory which is like what 5k? even for someone like myself who has never donated/barely did surveys, that's not a lot to ask for. -

Even for someone like myself who has never donated/barely did surveys, that's not a lot to ask for.it's ridiculous. The moment you apply the clan system, it implies non-existent "expectations." said expectations, because of the immaturity of the majority of the players in cf, take away the fact that you're playing this game for fun. You have pressure put on you to do well, and it distracts from the actual purpose of creating a competitive team; to play together, and enjoy playing together, as well as playing with/appreciating other skilled players.

You don't want us to use the clan system because of the label that comes with specific clans?
Because the mentality that comes with being in an "official" team completely takes away the point of being in a competitive team. It's ridiculous. it looks unprofessional, teams don't need tags/logos next to their name to define who they are, clans are for clan server not echo 8.
they do not need them but there are really no negatives to do so... and echo 8 is just a random server that people chose to scrim in due to the buggy clan servers/people that wanted to ring/pug
this is honestly a pointless topic to discuss. go make a team without a clan lol cause i know i've seen it before but they only lasted for 2 days until they actually made it
-
i still don't understand the negatives of using the clans, but maybe i have too much of a pub mentality or something...But wouldnt those expectations be present even if you're merely associated with that team?
That's the point. By not creating an "official" team, you just are group as people who play together. It's a small mentality change, but it has an effect.you have pressure on you all the time even in pubs to do well especially if you have a reputation to with hold.
Not if you play the game for fun. The only time you should feel pressure is in a league match. If you feel pressure in a pub then you are doing it wrong. -
Sounds like an issue with the people rather than the system.Because the mentality that comes with being in an "official" team completely takes away the point of being in a competitive team.
I'd of course manage just fine without a clan, but it comes with organisational advantages hard to discard because some people don't like my clan. -

you were in it for 4 weeks at most, you weren't actually part of the team, why would we give our number to someone not part of the team, and we used ventrilo, no need for chat -

Quoted for the 3rd time. -

the clan server's round system is different and you can't change weapons apart from the dcing -

What organizational advantages? Keep in mind that this is specifically aimed at aspiring competitive teams.
And yes, it IS an issue with the people. But by those people not using the system, they don't have the mentality change. -

well a "competitive" team doesn't play for fun. they play for cash/prizes -
For crossfire specifically, its pretty hard to come out as a team (aspiring team) without a name attached for the public - conveniently supplied by the clan system. What organizational advantages? Keep in mind that this is specifically aimed at aspiring competitive teams.

Then theres the clan chat and "play with" system, useful at least. -

Friends list/vent.
And since WOGL is the only thing that matters atm, I don't see how having a clan with Z8 affects that.
