A new era of tactics. [U.C.]
Why this guide is being written:
Upon my watching of the WEM coverage and comparing tactics used by the Viet/Cn teams, and the US/CA teams there were many differences. Not just in the strats, those were similar, the issue was in the execution.
Why is this important?
Clearly the advantages the other teams had were more complex then their aim > ours. Their strats while being similar to ours were executed fast, efficient, and near perfect each time. Each person knew the precise places to move to upon their spawning, the moment they were able to move they were instantly moving to execute their strats.
The issue is not in our "experience" A year would be enough to learn every nook and cranny of the maps played. On top of that MOST of the "pro" players on CF have already had several years of experience on other tactical shooters most notably CS and CS:S.
An example of immediate execution
Your on Port, BL side, your team is numbered 1-5,
You rush bsite the numbers are in chonological order of who reaches the slat area first,
1. 1st person crouches checks slats,
2. 2nd moves through hugging the left wall aiming to BC,
3. 3rd is carrying the bomb hugging right wall aiming B side,
4. 5th stays behind covering the 1st persons back,
once site is taken 1st stays watching A/Bridge flank, 5th watches BC
5. 1st 2nd and 3rd had moved into site and taken up individual preplanned positions that allow for crossfiring.
Slow movement
Slow movement has its place, but in an extremely competitive situation it is not AS useful, at that level of competition their aim is more advanced then normal/skilled players in NACF,we can't treat it as such, moving slow trying to advance on a site won't work as well there, one person on gr slightly pushing up while your walking around is going to dome your team, even so lets say you take him out, the enemy now knows your precise locations, your stuck between sites with 4 extremely good aimers surrounding you. Get the point?
Correcting to redesign strategy
Now that we have experienced what other countries teams are capable of we need to learn how to play to match their styles if we want to have a chance, we all need to work together as a community to train each other, in your tactics all players should have a line of sight that covers your teammates. I will edit a example of this in later, but each player has a "conical" view, each cone should be seeing the edge of what the other person is seeing, it allows each player to have each others back as it were at a more structured level. The strategies the CN team used were structured but very adaptable to any situation that arose, it seemed like they had a plan for ANYTHING that would happen. If that wasn't the case then perhaps we need to start practicing and doing that. Learning what happens when a certain person is removed from a strat, or a variable is added. But at the same time keeping the adaptability.
How to do this?
This is possibly the most RADICAL idea I present in this "guide", but I propose we throw every strategy we currently know straight out the window, completely redesign our playbooks, from the start to finish. Plan for every variable imaginable.
This "guide" is under construction. I will add examples of more strategies later. I will also add examples of what i was talking about, links to strategies, etc.

The match vs china was really hard, they rushed verry fast and we werent ready for that, we were expecting them to take it slow and we were careless. the second we tried making our A stronger then went B... thery are a really good team and i hope we play them again, we will not make the same mistakes. We should not have let them get so many rounds on their CT side also, i think our strats worked pretty well, their rotation are really fast so that was the only way to get a hole in their tight defense since they have good aim.

I think we should take Seals Gaming as an example here.
They had their strats pefectly planned out, if 1 person died there was a whole new procedure and the whole team new what to do.
Takes alot of time and dedication but works very well. -

That is somewhat what I'm talking about, having each strat methodically planned out works well, but it can lead to memorization and people finding ways to break through, they need to be planned, but adaptable, as for you sponge I will start posting examples once I design a few, watching the teams just inspired me. The plans still need to be made. -

Images would be a great idea and maybe some animations. -
Sticky requested.
great guide, now that we have watched WEM for CF, i feel as though, we can do better by observing their strats and preventing them to happen & find their weak points.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, now we just have to get the entire competitive community to start building strats to resemble the chinese, then build strats to beat them and start working TOGETHER to practice, not against each other to see whos better. Let's respect each other and be friends? Kay? -

kk we should do like forum wide scrim strat review. that would be epic. -

The emphasis as me and Polleus agreed, isn't the strat, you don't need to over think and do all these crazy complicated strats, learn to rush a long and learn how to cover each other. And yeah, let's all start comparing strats. -

first, we need to have friendly scrims, just scrim same clan over and over to teach each other new ways to cover, rush, and protect. -

WE also need to have clans that stick together. Like Lifeline and LPK, whereas all these other clans break up in 4 days. ### <- +1 -

Nice guide. Looking forward to seeing the examples, pics and videos.
I'll try to have them up tomorrow, I need someone who can record in game to do the strat footage for us. Pictures are me just being lazy, images I have the conical view done just gotta get a mod to edit. -
That was a very very good thread, excellent read and all good points throughout. I try to get my wogl team to play a bit like that while practising (everyone has their set points, who has to cover where etc) but tbh,i dont think some of them are smart enough to keep enough information in their brains, and to react to each situation accordingly. You can practise all you want, but brains and gamesense are such a major factor at the end of the day,but as I suppose we've now found out how having amazing aim can be even better. How many times where LifeLine in a 3 v 2 situation and lost it? Just because of the other teams working so well together, plus their terrific aim to re-take the site. They were playing together simultaneously.
And I also agree with Treni. Seals were maestro's at this. But of course, they were all really amazing players all round and were extremely active with so many hours of practise used. -

I cannot comprehend how people would be unable to remember what spots to stand and aim at. To me it's just a habit, when i'm running at a site I naturally press myself to a wall, get maximum cover and headline the wall. I'll say it a million times, simple strats played well are > complex strats played average. -

No,that part is fine in my team. Its just that nearly all my team don't have a clue how to react to a situation. Its just a lack of thinking and concentration. I'd explain it as soon as anything happens what I want done - but then someone always tries to do a rambo, and get a 4k. Of course, when we're ''sweeping'' a site, i'd always expect someone to be covering the angle in reverse of mine - but sometimes this won't happen. People just don't think. In my opinion, thats definetely a form of baiting - which p1sses me off more than anything in a scrim/ match.
