Communism... i do philosophy at university, and i study communism as part of my course, and the truth is, Communism could work, it could be the greatest possible form of government, but due to humans being so damn ungrateful and greedy, it immediately becomes corrupt.
the concept is in fact brilliant, its just we trash the model as we build it. the US didnt need to have a massive arms race due to one mans fear of communism is all im saying...

Okay, I'll break it down.
Jefferson got lucky and obtained the Louisiana Purchase.
IF he didn't get the offer, United States would have loss

Napoleons brother, and general, Leclarc urged Napoleon to send an army to San Domingo or w/e to calm the hype led by the black leader, once that is achieved, they will send an army to New Orleans and set up an empire called "New France" in the west Mississippi.
-Spain is getting weak at this time, they will lose all of the west
-France could EASILY take the western side (mexico, california, etc.)
Once this is established, France could easily dominate the United States.

i was joking... the UK and the US reached a mutually beneficial agreement with the ruskies, dashing japanese imperial hopes.
from the dates given you could say the nuclear bombs had no effect, or they may have had some. as they say they dont know...
so whether or not the bombs 'needed' to be dropped is moot. they were, war ended.
the next step is the arms race which was just silly. -

america has proven they aren't invincible, their economy was trashed along with everyone elses, their government in many parts is a bunch of conservative jokes, while being very socially diverse they are also massively racist, the list goes on.
