i have a solution to get into cross fire
1) use VPn Client to change ur ip adress link:http://www.softether.org/5-download
2)choose sever has lowest ping
3) open cross fire, you can play but ping higher
The purpose is to NOT use VPN. You could have just read the original post and see it was also offered there as a solution. -

It's the weekend, Z8 doesn't work over the weekend. Come tomorrow they'll be back and flooded with this so just wait. I know it's hard trust me, I want to play with my new toy. ;P
If all else fails hopefully come the 12th they'll do some sort of patch. -
@BikiniSo to everyone that is having problems connecting to crossfire and getting that horrible message "Failed to connect to server" at the log in screen this is a ... bad fix but it does let you in game.
After testing out many different solutions to try and get back into crossfire my last solution let me in and that is using a VPN client.
Please ... please don't ask me why I would need to use one but for some reason using the VPN client allowed me to get into crossfire. Seriously Z8 has done something that messed up crossfire with this last patch.
Granted even though I was able to get in my ping was at 290-310+ which is unplayable so until this gets fixed, I won't be playing still.
If anyone else comes up with information or a better fix post it, doing a clean install, resetting my router and modem, changing my IP, ect ect, none of this has worked except for this.
I'd also like to add that I am unsure if using a VPN client will get you in trouble or not so please try at your own discretion.
Can you Teamview me and setup my VPN Client I don't know how. Just PM me on forums and I will reply. -

Sorry I'd rather not, I only used it once and I'd rather not do it again as I don't want to get banned or get anyone else banned. Until I get official word from the higher ups that using such a client is ok I'm going to have to say no. -

It's funny that you would mention this. As I remember something like this happening a long time ago ... I think.
Anyways I get the feeling that you're onto something as I have other computers to try this out on but not another internet connection which would help explain other possibilities.
The fact that you did that shows that it could very well be that Z8 has certain IP's blocked that they didn't mean to with this last patch and I feel like this is a repeat of a past incident.
Or maybe I'm crazy.

This game has always been fun for me. But the Failed to connect to server error has really brought me to my breaking point. Fix this game already. Fix the hackers. Fix the kick system. Fix your company.. Z8 has the worst gaming experience of all. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. For all the legit players out there, I speak for you too. We legit players enjoy the game, and we just want to play coming home from a stressful day at work or school, and your company fails to provide us with a reliable gaming experience due to the lack of effort put into making your servers stable and keeping your hackers under control. I'm done.
