Compaq Presario SR5505F
nVidia GeForce 6150Se
2 gb of Ram
plz and ty if u can answer of these questions -
lol i want a card that atleast works with some of the new games hasent got to be perfectno its not. if you want a new video card, you need a better processor.BulletJunkie wrote: »he has a x3 core, that's good enough right now, i'm running games on a single core.
what is your psu?
Power supply unit (wattage)
i dont know what my psu is but if you tell me where to find it i may be able to find it. -
BulletJunkie wrote: »If the website is correct, you have a 250W psu, that is going to limit your range of purchasing a good graphics card, you would have to upgrade both, I would at least get a 450W psu.
this may sound stupid how do you upgrade the psu -
After you find one compatible with your PC, it's pretty simple
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTWc2sckkRw&feature=fvwrel
you need obviously a psu and an anti static wristband
also check your manual to make sure I'm right about the wattage on your psu, because I'm only going off an average of most packer comps. -
he wants to buy a new video card. that processor will bottleneck the video card if its too powerful and if its not powerful enough it won't help him run any games.BulletJunkie wrote: »he has a x3 core, that's good enough right now, i'm running games on a single core.

well he's obviously not going to buy a 300 dollar graphics card, me or someone else who knows about computers will find one that is appropriate for the hardware he currently has. -

lol so there is no simple card that can handle some of the new games without getting a new psu lol -
whatever then. i hope he's satisfied when he wastes $60 on a video card that won't give him more than 50 fps on cf because of his bad processor.BulletJunkie wrote: »well he's obviously not going to buy a 300 dollar graphics card, me or someone else who knows about computers will find one that is appropriate for the hardware he currently has. -

you are wrong, i have a 3.0 ghz pentium d single core, before i purchased a graphics card i was running CF,Source,SF,LoL, around 20 FPS, i bought a 5450 ati for 20 dollars and i get 70 in source, 60 in LoL, cf i get 100+ 8 v 8s..it's not going to be a waste of moneyUK_DarkArtZ wrote: »lol so there is no simple card that can handle some of the new games without getting a new psu lol
Yeah if your psu is stock and not certified, you're going to be really bottlenecked with a 250-300 PSU if you want to buy a decent graphics card that will give you significant fps boost. -
that's 500 mhz more than his processor. this game runs on 1 processor anyways.BulletJunkie wrote: »you are wrong, i have a 3.0 ghz pentium d single core, before i purchased a graphics card i was running CF,Source,SF,LoL, around 20 FPS, i bought a 5450 ati for 20 dollars and i get 70 in source, 60 in LoL, cf i get 100+ 8 v 8s..it's not going to be a waste of money

its a decent card if you combine with the right parts, but with your parts you won't notice a thing. all you'll be thinking is how you could get your money back.killer147852 wrote: »is the GTX 430 not a good graphics card? or it is because its not compatible -
I have a nvidia 9800gt graphics card, i get between 180 and 210 fps in all rooms i play, i have played crysis2 smoothly also, it costs around 100 us if you can find 1UK_DarkArtZ wrote: »okay im not good with computers but i recently got this comp its a
