S&D
wasn't sure where to put this, hope its in the right section
anyway, im starting to play CF a lil bit again, and i was thinking bout getting into S&D instead of going back to GM since it's getting kinda boring now
but the problem is, whenever i play S&D, i have no clue whats going on
i get the concept of how to play but there must be some sort of technique or somethin' involved because i get pwned like lightning
so is there some sort of secret to S&D?

If you're BL always check your spots. Gr always camps...always. Also keep watching foward. You never know when they'll pop up. Plant and cover.
If you're GR try and surprise them. Rush until you're between your base and the enemy base. You'll have people backing you up from so many directions.
You also need to have good aim...and use common sense. Something only 10% of the CF players have.
For example...if someone shoots you..TURN AROUND. I always see people ignoring those who keep shooting them...fawking idiots >:O
Use your chams (ears).
Be a fawking annoying lil piece of poop. Keep shooting at them even if you dont see them. Keep them pinned down. Spam macros and make them lag >:] -
Don't treat it like GM, where you have time to search, aim, and kill.
Also, don't wander around alone, since alot of enemies quickly pickup on this, and'll start ganging.
Stick with one or two people, don't expect open warfare, like in TDM. It's best to 'poke - poke - profit'.
If you get what I mean  -
TDM for a few days to get the hang of killing 'real' characters that can shoot back.
The rest is pretty straight forward and a matter of changing how you play.
C4 plant/defuse is the same as in GM, but be aware of placements as BL doesn't have to get up close to kill you while defusing.
Don't (ever) play too hard offense, don't run around in the open aiming straight ahead like you would in GM. Hug the walls and check every corner, as you can't hear the enemy any more.
The transition from GM to S&D is a pain, and I very much regret starting off with GM.
Feels like you're always at a huge disadvantage, even though I can't exactly place why.

uh...pub
copy the spots u see the better players do<
and try catch people off guard if u can!
and theres a pretty good sd guide somewhere in the forums, its pretty long though, if ur all tl;dr dont bother
and this is just imo im sure alot of other people would disagree, but switch types of weapons! i always switch around mp5 adv, awm/dsr, and m4 silver
using dsr makes ppl camp in cqc areas so the net round just rush with mp5 LOL, if theyre spread spread out m4 etc. -
I guess positioning is one of the huge transitions. I help out a pub clan that has many GM players, and when they are placed in S&D, they don't think about where they are. Standing in the open, or sometimes even just standing and blocking off an exit isn't the best thing to do. In pubs, it's often hard to trust your team and KNOW someone has got your back. Stay along walls, make sure there are players guarding doorways and openings behind you. Learn to peek - moving out from behind an object to gain a view of a location, and duck back behind the object.

What weapon are we talking about..?
Try TDM to warm up. Burst. Never keep your crosshair off of them, unless you are controlling spray.
When doing S&D Scrims, do as the others above me said.
But pubbing, take a different approach. Push, don't camp. If you are sniping, always go to the early picks spots. (Ex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq0rpI8UM_0&feature=related . Where he is at in the beggining, at :48AND AT 1:25) -

If that was sarcasm, it was unnecessary, this is a serious thread.
If you were being serious, don't suggest using scrubby weapons/armor to people who would probably take it serious. Even if they don't it's not cool. -

only bad players complain about weapons. -
Strange, I found it a lot easier to shoot people who weren't invisible and faster then me... But yeah the biggest thing that would make the change difficult is the style of gameplay, you have to think differently. For awhile I found it hard to hold my own, but I've been playing with hydro/dino/Iupiter/Utilize lately in SnD scrims, because we got bored of playing gm with ppl who would just RQ. We've become a lot better, you should get your computer or w/e working so you can play with us.

Well as being a strong all-around player (with an affinity for GM), I can tell you that the best practice is TDM for aiming, EM for awareness, Escape for rushing/defending and MM for uh... nah forget about MM.
SnD is all about awareness and playing smart. Even if you don't have the best reaction time, if you play with strategy you will learn to take advantage of disorganized teams.
Just keep hitting those TDM games to practice your reaction time, trust me it helps a great deal. -

I believe you are quite right about how each mode helps you in each part of SnD.
The thing about TDM is that it's so clustered that, you know...
It's quite hard to train in TDM due to so much BS going on at once.
If only there were something like Black Widow TDM, that would probably improve your senses 100% more. -
