Meh, I'm not the happy go lucky type, and yes I feal harsh to the community here, mostly becose they think the game should be free, as in z8games well make nothing off of it. When ever somthing new come's in thats not a GP item they go all "Cash cow" on crossfire saying how they are only in it for the money, well guess what guys. You need money to keep a server online, I know myself how much it can cost. I was only running a website, now imagen how much more it can cost z8games to keep a FPS game online, its not 100$ think bigger.
I just think that the death of this community was the kids that jumped the "Free" aspect and forgot that z8 needs to make a living two. -

You're right. I do my best with my clan. Half the time I feel more like a babysitter than a clan LT (former leader, got tired of being bugged all the time). So I suppose you could say I do the same thing but only on a smaller scale. -
damn how can you keep this up mr.polleus
ppl are flaming you like mad
It's like the episode of crossfire where 8 ppl shoot 1 person and ironically that 1 person ate all the bullet and lived lol, but the main question is that how much longer will he live -

No, it was one person. Obviously on alternate accounts, believing that I won't have his main account (if it exists) tracked down tomorrow. You're right. I do my best with my clan. We can only do our best. What we do with everything is our decision, not any one else. Putting blame on your actions on anything but yourself is simply an excuse. I'm glad you see my point of view and I hope that can translate into leading an example for others to follow, on a larger scale as well. -

lead posioning well kill him, he just ate about 100 rounds, so ya. About 24 hours.
mr.polleus is a grate guy that holds out hope, I still hope there is some players in the forum that have a brain. Sadly there are more zombies than servivers. -
Just a couple quotes for reference that I like to go by:Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude.First ask yourself: What is the worst that can happen? Then prepare to accept it. Then proceed to improve on the worst.

The thing is what action are you going to do, most mods just make a post than sit back and say "job well done" What well you do to make the community better? Well you give out more 7 day bans than ever? Just to give them a "We are watching you" event of bad topics of HBC topics getting locked. (Hate, *****, complane)

It's not about banning or controlling the community, and it's not all him. We have to work together to just simply be good examples to everyone, as is with real life. That's all we can do. -

Ima just do what I do best, tell people to stop crying and report bad topics. Thats my part I guess. -

As I am in a quoting kind of mood:
- Winston Churchill[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.
[/FONT]Changing the attitude of people is the first step in making a difference. You can't fix things when people refuse to think outside of "it will never be a success". So that is what I will try to do. Change the attitude, change the way of thinking. Inspire others to do the same. The rest will follow.

Sometimes the more lengthy and heated negativity is a result of poor actions taken by the moderation or management of the game or community.
Sometimes, this moderation or management simply needs to cut the goddamn arrogance and admit mistakes. Don't allow for the downfall - stop the landslide at the "pride".
The attitude of "it's a free game" is not an attitude that should be adopted by those in charge. That would simply end in a miserable experience that does not meet the expectations and needs of the community. -

I agree fully. I will admit when I've made mistakes for sure. I am not above it whatsoever. This process I am trying to get going is a two-way street. Both the community and Moderating powers have to equally work to make things happen. The mistakes of any person/group must be realized before correction and improvement can be accomplished.
The "Free game" mentality has no grounds with what is trying to be done. A community is a community and a game is a game. Just because it is free does not excuse a community member's actions and/or poor attitude. People should still be held accountable just the same for any situation. As such why I take this so seriously. -
[MOD]Polleus wrote: »Anyone can act as I do. I just hope by providing an example, others follow suit.
It is also human nature to make choices. Everyone has the choice to act a certain way. I think it's a poor excuse to blame human nature on someone's actions. Who has control of those actions? No one forces anyone to act a certain way.
There are several debates you brought up in this one paragraph.
It is human nature to make decisions, but how would it be a poor excuse to blame human nature on someones actions if its only natural to make those decisions. You probably meant it is a poor excuse to create an excuse for human nature.
Do you really have control over your own actions? Manipulation is a powerful tool. Take the trolls for example. The way you feed a troll is by responding to them. Did you decide to feed the troll? Or did the troll decide that for you? Will you ever know? Probably not. That's how powerful it is.
Humans are always responding to stimuli, whether physical or in the form of words. The moment you read this passage, you automatically reacted to it in a certain manner. Whether you reacted to it by thinking about it and following through with a textual response or you blew it over your shoulder, you still reacted.
In the end, only one thing is for certain. You can't beat nature, you can just flow with it.
I don't mean to undermine the grand plan all of us are trying to instate. I just wish to shed some light to the other half of the concept.
May the rest of us carbon-based life forms react to your article in a beneficial manner.

In the end, only one thing is for certain. You can't beat nature, you can just flow with it.
You may be correct. It may be impossible to beat, but that doesn't mean it is impossible to modify or control that flow in order to produce more positive results along the way. That's the mystery and wonder of the human mind.Manipulation is a powerful tool.
Yes it is. It can be used in a positive or negative way as well. You could say that I am manipulating the way people think about this community in order to produce am different way of thinking. Therefore, I am modifying the "flow" of this specific instance of human nature to act in a more positive manner through the stimuli of positive reinforcement. Is that a bad thing? I don't think so.

Game issues are more important that community behaviour, most people in game don't even know we have a forum. -
tomtom121211 wrote: »So you would rather they fixed community issues over the game play eg hacker, glitcher, accusers etc?
The people glitching and accusing is also a part of the community issues. The hacking issues are already being fixed by xtrap and the new auto ban system. -
[MOD]Polleus wrote: »[*]What can we change you ask? The way people think. A community lives and dies with its users. Without users, there is no community. Would you rather be in the company of people who constantly break the rules and cause trouble? I hope not.
Nobody is asking for the forums to be changed when they complain, they are complaining about in-game changes. As it's been stated multiple times the forum users are a very small minority in this game and have almost no influence over what happens. No, we can't change anything (unless extreme measures are taken) and even if something is suggested on the forums that gets changed it's because it was already in the head of the dev's of CF or somebody who has influence on them. When something is said "oh we did this for the forumers!!" it's straight up propaganda. UK Servers? I'm sure this was already in the head of a Dev or GM since they were licensed in UK already.
Don't infract me please, totally NOT calling you out. -
[MOD]Polleus wrote: »You act in a negative manner towards people because of a game's issues? There is no excuse for being disrespectful to someone. Sorry.
When someone cuts you off and almost causes you to wreck your car and possibly end your life, don't you get angry? Don't you swear up a storm in your car? Most people do...because they can't stand idiots almost doing in someone/anyone else witht heir stupidity.
Same applies to the game...9 hackers pizz you off, your more then likley to come on the forum and cry outrage about it, because it's warranted...
