How to play Crossfire in Windowed Mode.
I don't know if this has been posted, but I've seen a lot of people asking if it's possible.
Answer. Eff yes.
There's 2 different ways to do it.
1st Way
The most simple one, but the one that doesn't work every time you try to do it is by simply right clicking your mouse while you're loading/joining a room. This may cause CF to be in window mode, but it's not as clear as the other way to do it.
2nd Way
This one may be more complex to do, but it works 100% of the time. For me. The first thing you need to do is join a game. Hard eh? The 2nd thing you need to do is press Alt+Tab which makes you switch between windows(Crossfire Window, Desktop, or anything else you may have open). Sometimes when i try to use the Alt+Tab thingy, I need to have something open, like Firefox or Google Chrome so I recommend you doing that as well. 3rd thing you need to do is go to your desktop while you're IN GAME using the Alt+Tab trick or whatever you want to call it. Now, I have no idea how to do this in other versions of Windows besides Windows 7 and Vista.Sorry XP users . When you finally reach your desktop, right click it and choose "Screen Resolution". Choose the highest. In my case, 1440x900 and click "Apply"

After you do all that, you should have CF in window mode. There's only
1 flaw. As you can see it's on the top left corner. You can't change the position...
There's one good advantage too! You get extra frames per rate (FPR-5-15 or even more)!!
Enjoy guys. I think I effed some things up. I hope you understood what I said here.

lmaoo lame guide, if u want to play in windows mode just don't change ur resolution (only works in win 7). R u dumb or something? U don't even use ur computer in full resolution?
If your highest screen resolution and cf's highest resolution is the same all you need to do is lower resolution of cf. -

Are you a moron? My screen resolution is always 1440x900. When i join a game, Crossfire changes my whole screen to whatever i have it set too. Get your facts straight man. -
I don't know who told you that, butr that's not true at all. There are many laptops that were speacially made for gaming..
Well, I'm a moron then ^^i say if you didn't have thoes *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* and if you used a normal color it cold be a sticky

I wish I could help :[
The only versions of Windows I've used are the ones from my school(really old ones) Vista and Win7
Sorry I'll try to figure it out for you... -
I can't make it an "official" sticky on the barracks or an "official fix" on the technical forums, I may make a sticky copy later in the technical forums with a few modifications to make it more user friendly.
And of course, with any "unofficial" modification, user beware! Although an alt-tab shouldn't do too much, it can mess up your mouse for 1 round, and can possibly crash crossfire on the odd occasion. -
