A Dirty Secret.
A Dirty Secret.
For all y'all who have windows, They've been hiding a dirty secret from all the gamers out there.
Built into windows, there is a function called "Enhance Pointer Precision". In FPS games, it does the exact opposite. What it does is this:
Many gamers don’t realize that mouse acceleration comes enabled by default. Little do they know that every stroke of their mouse is different; inconsistent due to a mathematical formula calculating the speed at which they move their mouse. Some gamers get used to this setting. They never think twice about it, claim to be amazing, and to be honest, on occasion they are. What they may find however, is that their game is always plagued with inconsistency because moving the mouse from point A to point B is never the same. By disabling mouse acceleration, no matter how fast or slow you move the mouse, movement from point A to point B will be the same. This results in much greater accuracy, increased consistency and a shorter learning curve to mastering precision in first person shooters.
To fix it, it's pretty simple.
Go to Start>Control Panel>Mouse Properties> And click on the tab "Pointer Options."
You will see a check box called "Enhance Pointer Precision." Uncheck it. That doesn't fix everything though!
To fully disable mouse acceleration, you have to edit the registry. Some dude came up with a .reg file that would automatically do it for you.
Download here:
http://www.sk-gaming.com/download/3504
Unzip it, and execute the .reg file.
Restart, and your mouse should perform better!
*Cough* At least say thanks *Cough*
Edit: Oh crap, spelled dirty wrong in the title.

It more or less changes the sens of your mouse dependent on how fast you've been moving it.
If you suddenly whip around for a 180 because you're getting shot and then try to move the mouse really slowly to get a hs it will be moving all funky.
Some people like it, I personally want my equipment to be as consistent as possible so I turned it off. -
Personally I recommended everyone turn this off also also use the registry fix. I've been doing it for 10 years.
When it comes to aiming consistency is key. It might take you a while to get use to it but once you do you're better off.
PS: Fixed your title. -
I have been using cplmousefix for years in many CAD softwares that needs really high precission.
At first, you can feel wierd with the real movement.
You have been trying to get used to the acceleration logic of windows by default.
Your movement sequence(acceleration-deacceleration and timing) must be perfect every time you aim.
As the acceleration factor rises, the chances of a perfect aim is nearly impossible.
When this acceleration is disabled, you have to move the mouse exact same position to aim for the same spot everytime.
You just try to do the same x,y movement and how fast you did it is not a factor on your aim.
The first thing you would notice is you need a bigger mousepad if you are checking your 6 often.
When you get used to it HS are easier than ever. -

Redo the process, but check Mouse Precision, and run the uninstall in the download-able file.If this works, I will kiss you.
I'll pass. -
hmm. i'll try this out...
i'll report mah experience later ;]
EDIT: FREAKIN DELICIOUS! GAWDAYYYUM. i got used to it in about one Train match (mah fav. TDM map). At first, it just seemed liek my sensitivity was lower, but eventually, i started noticing it seeming more accurate and returning to exact positions more. pretty excelleeeeeeent. TYthankiesTHNX! -

I have trouble understanding this.
Download it, go to the folder where you saved the downloaded file, right click it (you must have Winrar for this) click unpack here(or however its called in english) you will get another rar file, unpack it too and double click the file you get. restart your computer, done. -
Yo, so if you use this software, it doesn't matter if you put your ingame sensitivity to high or low?
Of course it does.
This just disables mouse acceleration, ingame, making your mouse movements consistent. There would still be a difference between 100 Sensitivity and 50 Sensitivity. -
So your saying keep my ingame sens low...?
Keep your sense with what ever you are conformable with. What this does is stops windows from guessing how you want to move your mouse.
Picture it this way, by default windows automatically changes your sensitivity in real time depending on how fast you move the mouse. If you aimed at something and moved your mouse to the left quickly until you did a 360, and then slowly moved it back to the same spot, it would take a longer arm movement to move it back because there is less mouse acceleration acting on the mouse.
With this fix it does not matter how fast or slow you move the mouse, it will always travel the same distance.
Over time you build muscle memory and can aim much more consistently.
