Laser vs Optical mouse?

I use an optical mouse.
Honestly, the gear does not make the player. Once you upgrade from a ball mouse, it could really be argued that its all personal preference.
The more expensive mice are not always better, that being said I have a $80 Razer Lachesis. -

Silly you, the razer lachesis is a laser mouse. I have one myself. -
I prefer optical. I use an old dell mouse, I bought a Cyber Snipa mouse off e-bay, used it for three weeks then decided I wanted to use the old mouse. Also have an mx518 and a crap logitech GM6880 or something and both used for a month max and returned to my old mouse.
I always say stick to what you know. Only problem with this old mouse is if you try to move fast it freezes so you gotta keep a steady pace when turning whilst strafing cause it's incredibly slow with 27 sens.
These newer mice for me just don't cut what I'm used to, even if I give it months of use. When I used them I felt there was absolutely no advantage just inconveniences I could do without. -
Gimme a laser mouse over an optical any day, more precise for one thing.
I used to use an intelli mouse (fantastic mouse ^^) but since then I've bought a sidewinder and (more recently) a G9 and I love it. No hardware doesn't make a player but it helps it's only as an aid like Macros to do repeated tasks.
I can't stand Razer mice they look ugly and uncomfortable imo and way over priced for what you get.
I do wish I had waited though... G9x is like the same price for what I got my G9 at XD
@NumberNin9, Nice mouse choice ^^ -
Razor mouses are awful.
g5 is one of the best. but i've also played cal-main with a ball mouse, so it's definitely preference.
Nonsense, I love mine. Although, I'll admit, the G5 is the ONLY mouse I've ever used that is up to par with it. I no longer bring my mouse over to my friends house ever since he got his G5. -
I play from a laptop and i prefere having a small but good laser mouse (wireless)
So i use the logitech VX revolution
Its realy good, good dpi, very accurate, small, nice handeling and it makes you capable to do 360° + turns with 95 sensitivity ingame. You dont need 360 turns but 180 can infact save your butt when you getting shot from 2 sides.
^_^ i think its a good mouse and this is the 4th one of these i buy... they rock -
I just use a simply Microsoft lazer mouse. Nothing flashy, but it still works. (I'd be on my older Logitech mouse that I used to game with, but, uh...lets just say the end of my Combat Arms run had me raging pretty hard. The mouse learned to fly. And kinda broke a bit. It doesn't work so well anymore. >.> )
Comically, my liutenant still uses a ball-mouse. On a small circular mousepad. Insanity. -
I use a no name iBuyPower mouse. It works fine and better than my old no name dell mouse (it includes two extra buttons which is good for my micro manage if any). My friend who placed first in Cal - M on CSS (in idk what year) uses a 20 dollar Wal Mart mouse (and hes pretty dam sexy with the awp).

haha
he just likes to break mouses xD I know him in real life
no, it's just, if he gets killed in a lag shot (like, when he's around a corner) he gets angry and sometimes throws his mouse xD
but it has nothing to do with a fail, he just gets angry cause of lag xD
btw, since yesterday I have a laser mouse, I always played with optical mice, and trust me: it's a huge difference!
I shoot like 80-90% headshot now, used to be around 50% (well, with an m4/scar light that is, but I usually use AWM, so I don't aim for the head then, so my total % is even way below 50% but I'm just trying to see the difference in the same situations)
like wth? what a mouse can do -
