Help me to be a good sniper killer
hello forumers
Am new to crossfire and i've some games with rifles and am not so bad
But with a sniper am terrible
I see some players do some crazy flick shots
What shall i do to be a good sniper other than practicing, i mean what should be my zoom sensitivity as a start
An old cf player told me that most pro and twitch player have nearly 25-35 zoom sensitivity, is that right
My ingame sensitivity is 1 , dpi 1000
Whats your advice for zoom sensitivity
Thx for any help

All preference and circumstances. Apparently, flicking doesn't depend entirely on your sensitivity. It depends on how fast and precisely you can aim at your opponent and shoot them.
You can have an extremely high sensitivity and barely have to move your hand, or you can have a medium sensitivity and move it somewhat, then with a lower sensitivity you flick your hand.
So again, your dpi and sens should be to your preference, and you must adjust it to your best ability. It just all comes down to your preference and skill, there is no secret. Play and adjust as you go, and you can practice in bot mode if you'd like.
edit: forgot to say that in this case, you should have low ping to flick, since there is a delay in sniping due to lag -
I think I'm pretty decent with a sniper so I'll comment, my highest score in FFA Sniper only, was 85/32.
As mentioned above, I don't think the sensitivity has anything to do with it. My zoom sensitivity is 10, my cousin's is 45, choose what fits you best.
I think the best way to get better with a sniper is to keep playing FFA Sniper mode, if you keep dying then go to TDM, keep at it for couple of weeks and you'll be posting on the forums later on "I legit player 1V1 me" like everyone else.
Long story short, no magical tricks, just tips and practicing -
Well it depends on many factors. It's not about Sensitivity. It depends on your
- Sniper
- Fingers
- Precognition abilities
- Quick decision making skills
- Mouse
- Mode
If you have a regular AWM then you may not excel at sniping and you have to work on other areas to compensate this weakness.
These snipers are best for QS'ing:
- AWM - Ult. Gold
- M200 Cheytac (preferably gingerbread as it has slightly faster draw speed)
- FR-F2
- Any VIP variant of Barret
- R93
Second factor, as i mentioned above, is all about your fingers. You have to press right click, quickly aim at your opponent and then quickly press left click, quickly swap your sniper with your knife and repeat. So for me it's like RMB, aim, LMB, Q, Q and Repeat.
You have to practice a lot to get faster. My average time of aiming n shooting my opponent is around 0.3 second. I advise you that in the beginning you don't have to focus on your accuracy. Just try to be quicker. If you are quicker then it means you have better chance to take your comparatively slower opponent. your shots will get accurate with the passage of time.
As i already mentioned, you must have a very calculative mind to be a good sniper (at least in this game). you have to be aware of your surroundings especially if you are playing FFA. you have to make quick decisions e.g. if you are facing 5 players you have to decide which opponent you have to take first and where you have to jump next to avoid other 4 opponents. I can fight against 3 opponents simultaneously with my M200 cheytac - grafitti
Lastly, mode also plays a vital factor e.g. if you are sniping in "all weapons" room then you may have low chance to take your opponents down and you have to be extra vigilant. However, if you are playing "sniper only" rooms then it is easier to play against your opponents but i prefer sniping in all weapon allowed rooms as it feels more challenging and competitive. -
The zoom sensitivity should not be faster than your ingame sens, so 25-35 should be enough
I do not like to do that, but I'm making an exception this time.
polling rate: 125hz
dpi: 380
Ig sense: 9-11
Zoom sense: 28
That does not mean that you should take over my settings, it just serves as an example.
You want to get better? Play the game every day! Set times, when to start and when to stop.(Your brain will adjust accordingly and it will become easier the longer you do it)
Watch Youtube videos... Try copying the 'moves' of a youtuber and making 'new moves' to create your own moves that fit for you. And most importantly! Have fun!
@GODALOS Weak performance...
@olpers A sniper is only as good as the player who uses it. Your 'these snipers are best for QS'ing' list is useless. -

With m700 or Regular AWM, you can take 1 (or may be 2) opponents down but then what? without those aforementioned good snipers but you can't go far or perform well and that's a fact.
85/32 isn't a weak performance in a FFA sniper only room. Why don't you show us your "godly" performance in any of FFA sniper only match instead of talking gibberish?
Stop being disingenuous. I encapsulated everything about being a good sniper in a single post. You can give a try yourself to become a good sniper .
You have erupted in derision but you can change yourself if you still have something like compunction in you. -
What a plonker!

I watched the video. I gotta admit that it's pretty dope but unfortunately it's just a combination of different clips and I don't see any bright player in that room anyway.
Someone with the username of "FAE GaMeR" has summed up everything in the comment section of this youtube video:
"Look I support you but try to make a video with pro players ..
All of your videos playing with low ranks and low players too
Nice Video "
On top of that, I am not able to see his "150/7" score in that video which would not be a "weak" performance. -
but 85/32 is nowhere near weak performance.

First of all, 85/35 is a below-average score in FFA Sniper only. I usually make above 100 kills in FFA with rifle, which is good for regular FFA match. But FFA sniper is a different thing as in you're supposed to be making more kills in FFA sniper-only than what you make in a regular FFA. That's because unlike with rifles, FFA sniper-only is even faster-paced since you get one kill with one bullet, you can get 10-15 kills without reloading which is impossible to get with rifles. So if you don't get at least 100 kills in FFA sniper 12 minutes room, your sniper skills are below average. I have made more than 150 kills in a full 12 minutes game numerous times, and I get more than 100 kills as average in every FFA sniper I play.
Now, @OP, there two types of sniping styles: Hardscoping (HS) and Quickscoping (QS), both require skill, the latter requiring a whole lot more skill and practice than the former.
Hardscoping is when you zoom in your sniper's scope while camping at one place and wait for the enemy to come in your scope and you shoot them.
Quickscoping is when you look around the map without being scoped-in and press right click>left click>Q>Q as soon as you get an enemy in your aim. I say 'aim" and not "crosshair" because there is no crosshair when zoomed-out in snipers.
But the most important skill to learn is called 'flicking'. Sniping is all about flicking, whether HSing or QSing. Flicking is the term used for the motion of moving your wrist or your hand quickly. Each flick ends with a left mouse button press (or right mouse button press if you're left-handed). The quicker your flicking is and the smoother your flicking is, the more kills you can achieve. This skill has to learned by practice, and anyone can become a pro sniper by practicing this skill.
Learning to flick is HSing is easier compared to QSing. Learning to flick in QS is harder because you have to be pressing right click>left click>Q>Q quickly after flicking. Whereas while HSing you are already in scope, so you just flick and shoot. First you need to learn how to flick in hardscope.
Follow these steps:
1- Go to your mouse settings in control panel and disable the "Mouse pointer acceleration/enhance pointer precision." Disabling this will help you prevent overshooting your aim. So the crosshair will move only as much as your mouse will move on the pad.
2- If you have a gaming mouse, lower the mouse sensitivity from control panel, and play with your mouse's DPI settings to find out which setting you prefer.
3- Lower your ingame aim sensitivity and keep lowering it until you find the one that you're most comfortable with.
4- Make a room with bots on beginner difficulty and stay inside your base so that the bots keep circling outside and don't come inside. Choose a point on wall at medium distance from you and zoom on it. Then move your zoomed-in sniper to right or left and choose another point straight in line with the previous one, probably around 5 feet away.
5- While zoomed in, aim at the first point and quickly aim at the second point and shoot. If you're a newbie you'll be overshooting your aim and will not be able to shoot on the second point.
6- Keep practicing until you can quickly flick and shoot point B from point A. Then practice shooting point A by flicking from point B.
7- This is how you master flicking in hardscoping.
QS flicking is difficult:
1- Choose points A and B on the wall. But don't enter the scope of your sniper.
2- Flick your hand/wrist from A to B and press right click>left click>Q>Q as soon as you think your aim is on point B. I say "when you think" because you don't have a crosshair when scoped-out, so you'll have to learn to rely on aiming without a crosshair while QSing.
3- Keep doing this until you can flick and shoot point B from A or point A to B with ease.
4- You've mastered the QS flicking. Now you can try it on moving targets. I'll suggest to practice first on bots.
You can also do all the flicking practice in the shooting range too, I suppose. But you'll have to play with guns present in item shop.
Some more tips:
1- When playing sniper only modes, always stay near cover.
2- Don't go out in open in FFA sniper-only games. People with highest scores in these games are those who stay at one place and not run around everywhere.
3- Play with switching options to find what suits you. For enabling Q>Q, you'll first have to switch to your pistol, melee or grenade when you spawn. Or you can press 3>1, 2>1 and so on. Or you can scroll mouse wheel down and up after each QS.
