CFL Elite League

ok but why would someone who at time of that video has been playing for 8 days say that it just dont make sense to say what he said if it wasnt said to him
My original message to them was to get on non cf team involved in competing in CF, and my line of contact was only with Jacko in the beginning, so nothing was even said directly to idoux from me regarding CFCL first of all.
The message I sent to jacko (their captain) told them last years prize, and I asked them to get involved and told them I would help them in any way I could to become good enough to be a top team.
At no point was there any communication between any other players and I regarding CFCL, until after they were already invited. I scrimmed with them, made them a vod of some of the basics I had learned from my time playing at a higher level back a few years ago, and ringed for a single match in x0teks league.
The only communication I ever gave the GMs regarding Gold X is that I had talked to a CS team who seemed interested in playing CF this next season and that was that.
As far as any assumptions the team made, that is out of my control. I never had any say nor was I asked to select any teams for the league.
As for the skill level of Gold X, I have had a running projected team rankings I have been working I was pretty open about it and showed many players including gold x to give them a gauge of where they are and even told them at points them being invited would be near impossible if the invites were done purely based on skill and performance since they had no record. On the list Gold X was not even in the top 16 teams, so its foolish to assume I even would have picked them if I was given the option, as in my opinion, there are teams of higher skill and more competitive experience that could be well justified before them. But the facts remain the GMs not only considered skill but other merits when they made their selections, and I am happy to stand by what they feel is the best choice at this time.
So for those more considered with the invites than anything else Id leave you with this advice.
If the GMs did choose you, show them why you were a valid choice, prove them right.
If they didnt choose you, prove them wrong and secure a slot in months to come by becoming the dominant face of open. -
Dont mind goldx getting in at all. But clearly one of two things happened for them to be chosen. As you said, you told the GMs "I had talked to a CS team who seemed interested in playing CF this next season" ( which i highly doubt was said in so little words) and they took the fact that a mod was involved with a team as reason enough to invite them. Or secondly they heard from kyle that a good csgo team was playing cf and decided to invite them because they were good at a different game. As many players good at other games have played Cf before have not received any special treatment or recognition from the GMs I highly doubt that was the reason.
As they literally just started playing cf and have only played 1 round of a tournament in cf ever I would be extremely surprised if the GMs were able to make a judgement of their skill, professionalism and discipline without kyles opinion being the major(if not only) part of the decision making.
Also goldx said they were guaranteed a spot beforehand. According to zzxq he only discussed the prizepool and how to be a good team and that gave them the impression that they were getting a spot in the elite league for some reason? That may have been a miscommunication, as goldx and zzxq seem to have accepted the excuse that was presented by x0tek, but clearly kyle knew he had enough influence to give them an advantage why they believed this. -

That's it, I'm going to go play CSGO and have a decent team that has attention! Easiest way to get a spot in this game. LOL -

You gonna post these rankings or what? -
The final words I have on the matter are that this feels like a gigantic slap in the face to me personally, and I'm sure several of the other bypassed teams feel the same way.
Professionalism? Three of us have hosted successful competitive events for the community. Four of us are former CF Pro League competitors, and two of us have won international trips. We have multiple players who were previously sponsored by organizations ranging from Fakeout, to ANIXIA, to 3sup. We are prior admins to virtually every prior competitive league, from ESG to ESL.
Discipline? We're the only top team which has consistently played during the off season of the game. Unfortunately.
Skill? We're currently the #2 ranked team in the game by virtually every player's view -- even in the power rankings list the GMs were sent.
None of my teammates post on the forums, and none of them particularly talk in-game -- not Logic, not Yuki, not Kaiz, not Michaelxv, and not myself.
The only exception is me -- a longtime community member, streamer, content creator, who not only creates tutorial videos to aid the community, but also invests his own money into the game to promote competition. I post on the forums.
Given that the GMs mention "mentality" and "professionalism", this feels like a retaliation to something we have done, which we are not being informed of. In no way do the members of our team fall below any of the criteria above in any capacity relative to any of the aforementioned teams. I don't know what to say other than I am incredibly disappointed by what seems to be a retaliatory move.
I also am incredibly disappointed in the teams on the Professional League, who are remaining silent throughout this entire process. While from an economic standpoint, I suppose I understand their silence; the second best team doesn't get to compete against them. Whatever your feelings are toward wanting to win, the Elite League's mission statement is as follows: "Only the best are invited to compete in this division, and to be invited you must have proved yourself worthy."
A team that consistently remained in the Open Bracket (HARABAS) of last CFCL, and a brand-new team (GOLDX) were both selected over the second-best team in the game, as well as several other obviously-much-better teams. And all of you have remained silent. That is utterly disappointing. (note: before you say "if the tables were turned..." I'm known as being one of the rule-sticklers in the community -- I have always fought for fair decisions and rulings for any and every team).
So, as always, I am incredibly grateful to the community at large for supporting this game -- without any of you, I wouldn't even have the opportunity to complain about not getting to compete, heh.
That's all I have to say. -
Clearly it was based on who they liked. I mean a team with no experience nobody knows and who isn't good at the game GoldX ( no offense) made it to the Elite League. How do you know their mentality? From what their application said? How do you know they are professional? How do they represent the best of our community and they literally just joined it. There is NO REASON that getbrikt should not have been invited.... NONE. Other than a personal vendetta against Reid for exposing the improper handling of a Comp Community.
To be honest it is just unfair man. I truly don't understand it. And even with wowTeam, they formed the team what 2 weeks ago? and !nstinct? They don't even touch or THINK about the game until something is announced. This is just unfair. It truly is. I don't get the selected teams like not at all.
Not saying some of them weren't worthy but come on.. You guys don't even keep up with community other than on forums or what whispers you hear from probably STDx which quite honestly none of the are honorable people. Not 1.
idk man, Long discussions and THIS is the list of teams? What exactly was being discussed? Who you liked the best? Who never posted negatively on the forums? What team has the least infractions? I mean competition is about winning. Yes the mentality is important, but it seems like the deciding factor was whomever didn't make you guys mad or offended you. (just being honest)
And again it's your leagues, your rules, you run the show but it's just truly sad to see. -
It's so unfair for getbrikt members, I honestly don't understand how (out of all teams) GMs didn't allow getbrikt (apparently because the mentality profile of the team didn't match or sth) to compete when x0tek and michelxv were basically the only people to provide the community with cups when the GMs didn't even bother providing the slightest amount of prizes for EGL and other similar cups.
Even if they weren't the second best and most active NA team atm they are definitely the team which members have done the most for the rest of the community for the past 6 months at least.
To me it seems that their "mentality" is actually pretty damn good. -
This is coming from up above, putting this here as requested. They have said what they are going to say on this matter.[GM]Grumpy wrote: »I think there might be some misunderstandings, so hopefully this can clarify.
The CFCL Elite League is an invitational league, this was announced since the beginning. There was never an indication that if your team met xyz criteria you will have a guaranteed spot. There are no guaranteed spots, and if for some reason this was assumed, then unfortunately this assumption was wrong.
As it was explained, CFCL Open teams will get a chance to advance to the Elite league, either by replacing a team that failed to meet expectations or follow rules, or by expanding the number of teams in the Elite version if it is proven to be needed.
CFCL Elite will start with 12 teams, this means that the spots are limited and unfortunately we cannot accept all teams, which is the case in most top tier leagues in any game.
In selecting teams, we used a combination of criteria to ensure that the league is competitive, diverse, and most importantly professional. In order to do so, we have reviewed the history of the teams in last year's CFCL as well as the potential and what can the team bring to CF in the case of newly formed teams. We are sure that teams that were not selected are not completely satisfied, but as we said the spots were limited.
Elite teams will compete for a big amount of money, they will be publicly known, and they will be eventually representing CrossFire in both online and in any international tournaments opportunities. Therefore skills, professionalism, and discipline all go hand in hand when selecting teams.
We would like to thank all teams who applied but didn't get selected for the Elite league. We would also like to encourage you to continue to play in the Open league, as when an opportunity arises and you have met the criteria above you can be invited to Elite.
