At the administrator's discretion stand-ins may be selected during the initial stages to allow competition to continue smoothly.
If a team needs a stand-in, players may be selected from currently engaged teams. This is not a guarantee for teams which may find themselves in this situation, and teams are encouraged to try their hardest to field 5 players. Teams seeking to abuse similar situations may receive action on the part of tournament administrators. -

Must be convenient since you're the tournament admin -

It's cool if a team has 3 stand-ins, just have to run it through the admin first, lol.
That is correct. Rosters are currently open until this Saturday, so it saves players -- and administrators -- the time to post updating the thread with temporary stand-in player shifts.
The goal is to allow competition to continue as fluidly as possible, and stand-ins may be allowed depending on the situation at hand. -

There are so many "situation at hand" scenarios, I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain that.To be fair, it was only 2 stand ins. I'm glad you take interest in my stream. Hope to see you more!
If by watched the Youtube video, then you are correct. The video was very interesting. -
Isn't that why teams are allowed two subs in the first place? You're saying if one player shows up on match time, they can get four random players from the lobby to ring?

All situations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Teams found attempting to abuse similar situations may have action taken by tournament administrators. -
Damn 2 long time CF players showing the newcomers that its ok to cheat! Great role models(ZZXQ and x0tek)!
P.S. I'm disappointed in ZZ. Can't believe a z8games employee/mod would allow this to happen and actively participate in the smurfing. I call for an action to have x0tek and Konrad to be removed from the league. If not must be nepotism since y'know x0tek is the ONLY admin. -

I'll just wait til morning for the rest of the community to respond, its sure to be a ****-show. -
Stand-ins are fine for a small tournament like this, but you very clearly had 2 people smurfing and theres no scenario in which you can justify that
Not that I really care about the ethics (or lack thereof) within this particular match though, I just found it a bit comical given your comments towards Jordan a few hours prior -
That's politely saying you make rule as they come along, rather than have a clear set of guidelines. Why implement the two sub system if it can basically become limitless?Ellustrial wrote: »6. The tournament host acknowledges that these rules do not cover all situations. Moderators may handle items on a case-by-case basis outside of those situations specifically outlined in this rule-set.
In an effort to elucidate the reasoning behind this and better explain the situation to those interested:
GOLDX was unable to field their 4th and 5th players. KOWAI wanted to play the match, as did the remaining 3 players of GOLDX. Rosters are unlocked until Saturday. Rather than apologizing to the two teams, and preventing them from playing their match, the decision was made to allow GOLDX to play with stand-in players available at the time.
The goal of NACL is to provide appropriate practice to as many teams as possible, with a prize provided for the top placing teams.
All feedback is appreciated, and we appreciate and understand the concerns raised by players. -
Whats the big fuss rosters don't lock until round 1 is over. So what if it happened to be x0tek subbing in he doesn't have to post on the forums to remind himself when he's the admin and already knows the teams updating their roster. He was probably just helping the team out this one time and not needing to update their roster publicly cause the original roster will be ready for next time. Assuming if it was him playing as andre said. No rules were broken from what I see.

If you were just following the rules then why didn't you play on your main account? Very suspicious if you ask me. -
Stand-ins are fine for these type of tournaments, long as the player isn't on a roster but you tried to smurf and got caught
I have streamed multiple times on the account I played on, and Kowai knew it was me before anyone posted on this thread. 🙄 -

I really didn't want to chime in because it's your tournament or whatever and you can literally do what you want. But you tried to play without anyone knowing it was you. Just be honest, but I understand you are saving face to look professional but as heard in the video you froze up once you found out the guy was streaming and then you continued on to tell him not to post the stream or even stream. What was your reasoning if you were not trying to hide anything?
Other players have streamed their matches for the required recording purposes but when you learned that he was streaming you suggested it wasn't a good idea or that he should probably not be streaming? Why? New players to the community, would have been a good introduction, good for the popularity of CF, good for raising awareness of the tournament but it wasn't good if he was streaming? I wonder why?
I personally don't see anything wrong with the whole thing, other than nobody else would have been able to pull it off or that it would have probably been a punishment for someone else or another team. But you are the tournament admin, I don't get why they are making it such a big deal.
"Be a leader in and out of game, and your teammates will rise to the example you set" - X0tek -
It doesnt matter whether or not people knew that youre tsunami (and most people probably didnt). Smurfing is smurfing and it has never been allowed in any tournaments and in any game. And regardless of everything youve attempted to say, you definitely know that smurfing is bad. But hey youre the admin so do as you please

Idk man, you're just seeming like a dishonest person -
And Mich just dropped the bomb shell, smurfing has and always will be a ban-able offense for intense EGL/SPL if you were caught smurfing instant 6 month ban, should've made some kind of disclaimer or just played on your main. The community isn't trying to bash you just pointing out you made a mistake, you're admin of the tournament meaning expectations are much higher for you. My opinion was just a rookie mistake on your part just use your main next time and then it won't be smurfing. With that being said you should be DQ'd and if konrad was also using an alternate account he should as well.
-
I highly doubt he will DQ himself from his own league... That is truly wishful thinking.
Also how did you assume Kowaii knew? I am just wondering..
****Read the Rules.... Smurfing or account sharing is not listed in the tournament rules and we can't say "oh it's not allowed in any other league" If it was listed as against the rules then he would have violated. So I stand down being that it is not listed to be against the rules.
I am not saying that to go on and do the same thing or have people play for your team that is on other teams but we don't have a case here because he didn't break any rules.
