That to me, indicates that he is upset that EU teams are able to compete in two regions at the same time, where as NA teams aren't allowed to do that. He could've just said that NA and EU shouldn't split because it would split the price pool, if he really wanted to say anything. But really, the GM's and MOD's should receive nothing but positivity and large amounts of respect, regardless what they decide to do. The publisher and developer relationship is something I feel like a lot of people don't quite understand. The GM's even thinking about doing this, blows my mind.
The only reason why teams protested about this change (I can only speak for EU teams as those are the ones I work with), was because they feared that they would have to play matches in the middle of the night, and that there would be a difference in ping in favor of NA teams on the NA servers, and vice versa (yes, a lot of them also said that NA teams shouldn't have to play on the UK servers as well), but there are of course more factors to consider.
None of their intentions were to make the overall price pool smaller for the NA region. Most of the things said in that post, even though it wasn't saying much, felt so out of place. This was quickly debunked, as the teams pressured the GM's for an answer, they provided that answer on the weekend, too. The GM's and MOD's are in it to make the NA competetive scene great, and we all love them for it!
NA vs EU situation: I want CFNA in ESL and CFCL, but the publisher needs to make that happen, as that's currently outside of ESL's hands. More competition, and more frequent competition is where we want to be.

Okay well for the time being we aren't allowed to participate in any EU competitions, so until we are you guys shouldn't be able to play in ours too. -
Region blocked regions aren't usually allowed in competitive, just like how UK wasn't allowed in EU ESL in the past, but EU were still allowed in CFCL UK. The case is different with EU though because many of them made accounts before the EU version was released, also UK is licensed to both versions. NA is and always has been region blocked from EU since release. Z8 is allowing all regions/players who have accounts but are prioritising NA while still trying to account for ping and time differences which is cool in my opinion.

A reminder for all teams:
- If you want to apply for CFCL Elite, you have to:
1. Create a team on the e-sports section
2. Make sure your team is complete (minimum 5 members)
3. Apply using the support system under E-Sports --> CFCL Elite Registration
CFCL Elite is invitation based and has limited spots, therefore you have to apply by the end of May in order for us to consider your application.
For all other leagues, you should create your team on the e-sports section, have at least 5 members so it can be approved, then you will be able to participate in all other CFCL competitions -
