motg SAS vs dermented

I know that our team didnt follow the rules but it wasn't on purpose. The reason we got dq'ed was cuz one of our teammates used a zp character till round 5 then he noticed it (without anyone telling him) and changed it to a gp character right away.
Let me ask you what is the point of having overwatchers ?? they can't even spot such mistakes... They should at least send us a warning to change it immediately. But of course they didnt. Moreover, the other team kept on QQing after they lost. they didn't want to accept their loss and kept searching for reasons to get us dq'ed such as: one of our teammates wasnt registered and so on.
But they also spotted our teammate using a zp character but didnt even bother telling us since they could use that reason to get us dq'ed...
And what's the point of playing a game if get dqed anyways? the overwatchers should do their job better and so many ppl were watching that stream and i heard all of them noticed it but of course the overwatchers did not !
But the rudest part was that our team didnt get notified that we had been dqed...

  • When did we say anything about us losing?
  • So your team breaks the tournament rules, pretty basic rules too, and now you're complaining about being DQd? How hard is it to go into storage and take 5 seconds to make sure everything's in order? You want us to hold your hand and remind you to do that every tournament? God. You broke the rules, you got rightfully DQd, deal with it :)
  • Also are you smurfing from on someone's account?
    Report "sharing accounts".
You're -Dashy and your name is not on the roster. So you're playing on someone's account in the tourney. 2nd violation pointed
  • Lmao this happened to us 2012/13 we got DQ because i had a clan bag on... Obviously won the game ofc... Never played a tourney again after that.. Hard luck bro, that sucks... Rules are rules tho
  • Yeah the tourney was pretty poorly run in terms of decision making on behalf of the GMs. Thought you get to GR in your own server according to the rules, yet we were forced to play GR in UK while the other team GR'd in NA and half of their team was NA... that's a ridiculous advantage. And the game wasn't stopped even when we had to 4v5 or 3v5 for majority of the match but oh well.. probs could've done a lot better or even won if things were different lol
  • A lot happened this year , hopefully these are things that can be adjusted for and people can be better prepped for next event.
  • I'm hoping to do a rather large write up about how this tournament and what not was handled, I saw this post and decided to take a look, and frankly, I agree. But a bit of synopsis, since you're hardly unbiased.

The rules were laid out, and this one wasn't exactly one of contention. It was pretty straight forward. Not much ambiguity. Your player should have been more cognizant of the fact of what he was wearing. It's not like these rules crept up and yelled surprise. They have been plain as can be for sometime.

Also, you guys knew when you were playing. Make a check list if you're not confident that you won't miss something. Now that we know fairly squarely who is at fault here (Your team mate) let's go over the rest of your post.

This was the first Z8 hosted GM event in awhile, if memory serves me. Unfortunately, that lends itself to a few problems that aren't sorted out easily, and there are growing pains. Case and point, the familiarity of the GM's with how Ghost Mode functions (Those acronyms are going to be a pain), isn't exactly at an all time high. This causes assumptions to be made without found understanding. The choice is - An imperfect solution in time, or a perfect solution too late. Do you have the GM's not host an event, due to Ghost Mode not being something they are overly familiar with?

Or do you take it as a learning experience, and hope they incorporate the experiences learned from this next time around, so that it runs more smoothly. Now it's obviously not that simple. It will galvanize players against each other, some players winning through petty sportsmanship, while others sling mud so that no one is clean. Perfectly clean games (Like Demented Vs SAS) become a case of winning via a loop hole.

You had a concern about the efficacy of overwatchers. You're assuming the overwatchers didn't notice. What if they had? The oversight here isn't that they didn't tell you guys when they saw it - It was that they weren't able to. If memory serves from watching the stream, the opted to do 5 vs 5 with 6 spectator slots. While I'm not sure as to why this decision was made, it made it impossible for either overwatcher to join on one side or another to say an issue had occurred and to rectify it. If they had then noticed an issue, do they make the decision themselves? Or do they pass it along to their higher ups? Are you intimately familiar with the judicial process in Z8? I'm sure not. I can't image why you'd go with theory and conjecture on who to place blame on.

I know you're upset, I would be too. Frankly, I hope Demented gets completely, and unilaterally spanked by their next opponent for their lack of sportsmanship. The error was not a large one - Nor was it debilitating. The player rectified it of his own cognizance - But at the end of the day, the decision lies with someone. Don't blame anyone unless you're positive who made the call.

Can't make comment on who notified you or why.

I see some comments along the lines of ' You broke the rules, you deserved it. '

Does a swearing violation deserve a permanent ban? Or is there supposed to be punishment to fit the crime?

I'll agree until I'm red in the face that this was over-zealous, but unfortunately, I can only assume that decision came from God himself (Whomever is King at the moment in the office).

I'm sorry your opponents were petty. Learning experiences all around. You played a great game. Don't devolve into what the Aversim Vs Friends fallout looks like.

That goes with the same as us.. Shou kept getting Disconnected.. And i never managed to make it on time for it because the times got changed... We won 7/2 bl and lost 0/7 gr 100% sure that would not of happened if it went to plan and shou not getting Disconnected and me on gr as well... I was 90 minutes late apparently.. Even know it said 4-5 pm I was actually there for that time... 30 minutes late to be honest but not 90 miuntes late... I was there at the right time.
  • I really don't think an automatic DQ was warranted. By normal tournament standards you lose one round for each round that an illegal item is used with the exception of if more than one player is using an illegal item. In this case I think that SAS would still have lost and that might be why the GMs just decided to DQ rather than change the scores. Also as for someone warning you that you have an illegal character, you have 5 teammates that did nothing and they're the only ones that care that you're making them lose so look no further than there. Overwatchers when they notice something like that can tell you if they're feeling nice, but their only real job is to monitor and enforce the rules. The fact is the negligence of one player on your team forced you all to lose, it sucks, but that's the rules. My team didn't even get to play because of worse BS than this so don't talk about things being unfair.

It's okay just think of them not wanting to let you win tourney.

Looking at the way that things went we might have had a good shot, especially considering smurfs (joking...rip)

They may have uploaded, just not in time for the matches to start. They wanted to keep the games rolling. As much as everyone wants to blame the egy net they could have broken the videos up. That problem aside their other NA player did not upload which killed their chance to clear themselves.

We really need a good AC to try and avoid all this drama.

So all you needed was 26 hours instead of the original 22.

"original 22 hours " anarchy's interpretation of " considerable amount of time "

I'm honestly laughing that you think the better part of a day is too short of a time to do something like this. You could even upload it while you sleep. Takes no effort at all except to compress the file before you send it in case you want it to go faster. I mean did you all think that you'd get two weeks to upload the files and they'd just postpone the tournament or something?

    try egy net,

PS: everyone is limited to his own ability of interpreting words like " considerable amount of time " since its mostly net dependent when it comes to uploading such.

I will admit that the GM's should have been more specific when telling you all how much time you all had to upload, however, as I've said in the other thread 22 hours is still more than enough. Unless your power went out for 21 out of those 22 hours egy net is still capable.
  • Let just say I actually have fun playing against Loyal (VIP generation) and Etherion (the big boys).

Both games went good and not much complaining except Loyal wants the SS so we gave them SS.
If you can't follow the rules, then you shouldn't play in the first place. 22 hours is enough to post a video consider the internet.

7gb of video, which software you used record? At what frame rate? Bit rate? 60 minutes game I record with ShadowPlay 720p 60 bit rate at 30fps only takes around 800mb-1gb. Idk. Let just say you have 10kbps upload speed, then how are you able to play CF when each frame in CF takes around 10kbps to send and receive? Let say a normal monitor is 60hz aka 60fps, how are you able to play Crossfire with 10kbps when the minimum is around 500kbps upload/download requirement? Ping is the delay transmitting from the client to the host. The host is z8games HQ, the client is your PC. It explains why Canadian players have less ping than 25-30. Try to ping it with Windows command then? Ping www.z8games.com. The fact you have 10kbps internet, maybe it's just an excuse. I have a friend from Cairo, Egypt who is living in US. I can just ask to make sure if you want to. ;-) Trust me, nothing you say now will make a different since it's all over. GG and congrats to Etherion, a well prepared team for the tourney. (Swapping players for GR and BL is a good idea ;-) )
  • Aj was ready to compete and I was busy that's why he was swapping with me.

Salty much? I still think its funny that you think im krave :)

Oh, in that case, based on how you interpreted it, i think we can all agree that you're stupid?
what made you think you could play Semi Finals if your replays from the match before wasn't uploaded yet? how long would your egy highness want? 1 week?

let's say you were given until Monday to upload: Friends wins the tourney and upload the bandis a few days later and it's found that someone was cheating in the First Round match, Odeeb has to restart the whole tourney again.

    simple logic

actually submitted both vids *-* sadly my team wasnt as fortunate... as for x missions , 10 kb is upload is actually good in egypt , try asking an egyptian currently living in egypt for that,

according to your logic , that stupid individual led a team into beating you badly ? and lets not get into what that makes you now .... or else andrew will ban me from the forum ... again .... yet ignore anything concerning racism and harassment from his dear aversion friends :D

where are all the aversion videos i requested ? oh ..... no where to be found :(

All sent in to the staff the same as yours were requested to do. You guys also said you would post SS of your upload speeds. Funny you keep dodging all the reasons you lost. Just like last year :)
