  • So, after 3 long years, after MotG II's disaster buried the mode, after the game itself died, you guys finally decided to bring it back?

I'm sorry but it seems you haven't noticed it's a lil bit late.

    What happen with MOTGII?

There is pretty much different staff running this MOTG.
  • Z is trying to say that all the GM players died in CF NA since MOTG 2. Since they're barely any players left who play GM, this will be a "weird" event.

    Too much to explain.

Basically we had to Clan War for a determined time and the 2 clans with most winning rate (%) would get to play each other at the final. They also agreed that if we played hackers on a Clan War, as long as we reported, our winning rate wouldn't decrease, since the match wouldn't count. Once everyone was done CWing and the results were announced, they didn't remove those clan wars against hackers. In the end, 1 regular GM clan faced a random clan (which some people said wasn't legit a couple of days before the final). In fact, people told me that when they streamed the final, this random clan couldn't even bhop.

Even after so many people complained about such unfair results, they decided to stick to what they had decided: They wouldn't analyze the reports, and the first 2 clans would get to play each other. We also suggested making up a bracket with the first 8-16 teams, but the suggestion was ignored as well.

It's just too much to explain. As if posponing Talonblaze's Tournament wasn't enough, they just had to screw up that bad. GM itself wasn't doing great by then, but with such a prize (Golden Katana) a lot of people started playing again. After what happened, most of them went back to retirement, and the active ones left as well. I'd say that's basically it.

I remember this just like it was yesterday, except for the hacker's clan name. It was something like [ETA]Pig or something like that.. But anyways, our match VS them was honestly on the very last hour of the last day. I wasn't there to warn my clan mates about them being hackers, sadly. I got my hands on the replay and they were moonwalking on BL, and walling on GR; it was kinda obvious...

From 2nd place to 5th place, rip

I remember I was in 2 ties we had... We'd easily win as GR, and then get smashed by those Aimbot/Wall hack kids as BL...We wouldn't have played as many Clan Wars as we did if we didn't end up matched against hackers, but what can I say? According to them, it was "our fault for playing so many matches, cause it'd obviously lead to clans with hackers". Too bad they seen to be unable to understand we already had faced hackers within the first 30 matches.

Im sure they will have a different format setup. Im curious to know if they will only be relying on X-trap or using ESG or ESL clients. Either way if someone is suspected of cheating, just report it. Its easy to spot a cheater in GM. Oh and dont try to use macros either.

    How to catch macros
  • How to catch macros

Im pretty sure the ESG client is sophisticated enough to.

It is easy indeed, yet they didn't even bother to look at the clans' reports on MOTG II. Not only Panthers, but many clans' reports. Yea it might have been too much for them, considering the amount of reports they've received, but they should've thought twice before saying that as long as we reported a team hacking, they'd ban them and the match wouldn't decrese our rate.

Most likely I won't be participating, and I highly doubt people will come back. In fact, i doubt they'll even be able to gather 5 real GM clans. Last time I logged on this version, it barely had 1,5 full servers on peak time.

Oh and don't worry, none of us old players need that macro stuff to show something decent. I doubt you'll get to see any of us play, though.

It better... So many players using them macros. Hopefully they use good rules too, don't want unfair weps :P

What can we say? Nothing other than the logic is just too great sometimes. (not)

If I remember correctly, Mel messaged a GM for our loss to be removed. I believe the answer was that it would be removed, but we all know it didn't.

That Katana could've been ours easily :/ As we wrecked the winning team in the other tournament.

I messaged one of them myself. I still regret having deleted those messages (if only we weren't limited to 50 messages...). I remember there were only lames excuses though.

Oh trust me I would've messaged too if I had the proof to.
Sad that back then, there was only Saidin that we could contact..

You know what makes me mad? This version used to have real decent players. I could name so many clans...Panthers, UnE, Hell, Invisible, Eliminate, Contagion, Phantom...

MOTG II was a failure, Talon's was affected since almost half of the teams that had signed up for it simply disappeared after MOTG II. Still, it was partially succesful (just a small issue at the final, but overall it was a good tournament). Then there were Sugoi's tournaments. Most of them had some kind of issue. I remember his ruleset for 1 of the tournaments was knife+bd, but the damn BD bug just had to happen on that month...

On the other hand, the brazilian scene's been working out so damn well...It makes me mad to see how far behind NA's been left, considering the amount of decent clans and players it used to have.

You know, the community itself really didn't help out. I can remember only a couple of players that actually tried to come up with some sort of event for the GM scene.

Z8 kept saying we had to start something on our own, and if it worked out, they'd consider helping us out, maybe with sponsored prizes or something like. Yet their tournament was a failure. Whenever people tried something, some freakin bug would make things harder to achieve. Then there was OCG's failure: One hell of a laggy AC and that epic substitution cra.p on the final. And now, after THREE F###### long years, after the mode and the game itself died, they finally decided to bring this goddamn thing back. I honestly don't know if they're stupid or what, cause considering this game's situation, there's no reason to bring this tournament back.
  • hey guys maybe I use hak for this tounrument if prize is good enogh plz tell me in advance if there is anti cheat
  • holy sh*t..
