[esl] rule changes!

Just wanted to make an open thread for anyone to give advice to rule changes they wish to see. I will be overhauling the rule sets this week and want to know what changes you guys are looking for or additions you want to see made. Feel free to reply or PM me your thoughts / suggestions.

  • 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 are all bo1. Fair enough. But why do you just randomly pick a map? What is it based on? Either make it ban ban ban ban or Have a premade map pool. For example:

    1. Black Widow
    2. Port.
    3. Subbase.
    4. Mexico
    5. Ankara

If week 42 there's only 2 bo1s, we play bw and then port. Next week it's 2 bo1s again, then the maps should be subbase and mexico. Week 44 there's 3 rounds of bo1, the maps are ankara, bw, port etc.
  • Also, I forgot the name of it but it was pretty much like a pug on client. They have it in europe. I don't really have to give you the reasons why a pug like that would be good for the community.

Another good idea: every 2nd or 3rd week of every month, you should allow more weapons to be used. That could bring some of the pubstars to come and try playing competitive while it wouldn't completely ruin the monthly rankings. (1 sunday out of the 4 we get a month).
  • We thought about split leagues to allow those "semi-pro" teams to play separately but still earn great prizes. The way it would work is we pick 6 teams and brand them as the ESL CFNA Pro Series. And the rest would compete in an OPEN series. Then we would take the top 2 teams from open, and the 6 from pro series to compete in the monthly finals. Based on monthly placements the best 6 from each month would stay in the pro series.

    Hold no barred week?
  • I'd suggest expanding the map pool to include every map. The competitive scene shouldn't be barred to just 5 maps every week.

I'll be waiting in my castle.

Sounds like a really good idea would love to see this implemented.
  • Allow all non-vip melees to be used outside of knife rounds (they can only negatively affect your gameplay seeing as you run slower with everything other than knife and kukri vip)
Allow the deagle cfs and blue crystal, but not other blue crystal weapons
Remove trg-21/tar-21 and qbz from ruleset

He's talking about ESL Versus which is basically like matchmaking for crossfire. I agree that this would be really fun to add and would definitely get more players interested in the competitive community.
  • Dom has to be naded at least 5 times per map.

How would the seeding work for the monthly finals?

How would the seeding work for the monthly finals?

Seeding for monthly finals would be 1-6 = Pro teams. 7 and 8 seed are top 2 from open points. Then we would do double elimination instead of single elimination to get the results for top 6 teams to see who stays in pro.

why are we not doing this already? Pls change

so wait i think i didn't get this one correctly... Is esl trying to open a ''semi-pro'' league ....

if they do ... it's gonna be sad ... for all the work I've put into my own league ....

oh well until this happens I'll be around doing my leagues..

when this happens I'll prob just find myself a new community to help

Well if you are interested I will probably need an extra person to help out if we bring open / pro into esl. We can chat about it sometime if you'd like.

What kind of culture is that instead of helping this guys league to grow your asking him to help you for another company . It's kinda gay that you guys try to steal someone else's ideas LOL .

instead of trying to open something that already exist ''semi-pro league'' try to come up with a new working anti-cheat and much more new stuff that your ''pro'' community have been asking for years .

I hope SPleague doesn't join your hypocrite ass .
kids stay trying to copy other peoples **** lol gtfo of here.
might as well take control of his threads and his account as well lol.

I don't think creating an Open division (or semi-pro, whatever have you) is copying a random person on Z8 Games Forums. Almost all games played at a high level will have tiered divisions.

    @ZZXQ
How quickly can we see implementation of an open division? It would make me start playing again :p:p

he's the one that came up with it and did it ...almost no one else in this fken dead community raised their hands up and made a semi-pro league for clans and UK that freaking hate playing in esl and i don't blame them esl is prob the worst league... the only thing players care about is not even competition or anything to make people wanting to play the game and get better ... all they care about is the money and you wonder why those top teams barely get on to scrim because they don't give a sht about this game being active or not lol ... Before SPleague came up with this ''SPL'' zzxq was silent af he didn't give a sht about you kids in the ''pro section'' when he saw someone actually caring about the community he started working his ass up and basically taking someone's property by having more power ''ESL'' gtfo of here with all that bullsht i hope you get no one to sign up for your sht . fken hate kids like that so hypocrite ...

all the inappropriate comments and language I don't wish to quote again --- Please cool it down

Actually zzxq along with myself have been talking about the idea for Open / Pro Divisions for leagues for quite some time, long before SPL ever existed. At the time, there didn't seem to be enough teams to support tiered divisions, where now it is looking a little more possible than before. I'm not sure where the hostility comes from. From the sound of it, you don't care for ESL, leagues or this game for that matter, so why are you here with your nonsense?

Keep the inappropriate comments to yourself.

Furthermore, the "Pro" community has been casually asking for tiered divisions for quite some time. Whenever the subject comes up, people have always favored a sort of division of tiers. So, by doing an Open/Pro in a league, he is doing something that the community has asked for. Again, why all the hostility? Take it out of here.

    No

Zzxq, polleus, and I have talked about this in our Skype chat a month or two ago before spleague came out. It's like WOGL open.
  • lol you have been talking about it for ''months'' you said it yourself for months ... you haven't done anything tho ? once Spleague came out of the box and started helping this community out is when all of you guys woke up ? LOL i don't believe in this none-sense honestly I respect all of you but it just seems really sketchy ...

LOL @ At the time, there didn't seem to be enough teams to support tiered divisions, where now it is looking a little more possible than before.... obviously because SPLeague put some effort to get all those clans to play he prob whispered so many people... the guy is new man he has no connections what so ever and he still got lots of clans to play for his first tournament ...

I just feel bad for the kid Spleague he starts something that he really seem to enjoy doing and someone bigger just steps in and takes everything ... in my opinion it's totally not fair ...

Did you read anything Zzxq or polleus posted? We wanted to do it. I pushed for ESG or ESL to do it but with so few teams it wouldn't be very good turn out. Of course you DONT know until you try.

Listen to me next time guys.
