Creating/Applying to a Clan
Creation
Before you can manage a clan or even take part in a clan war, you will first need a clan. You can do so either by creating your own or joining an existing clan. To start, we will cover the creation of your own clan.
Please note: In order to create a clan you will need to be at or above the rank of Staff Sergeant and will be required to have 5,000 GP as a registration fee.
Clan creation is a fairly simple process. The first step is to navigate to the Clan Screen from the Navigation Bar at the top of the screen.
This will take you to the Main Clan Screen. From here you can search the list of currently established clans. We will have more on this screen below in the ‘Applying to A Clan’ section. For now, all we are interested in is the Create Clan Button.
Please Note: If you are already in a clan you will instead see your clan listed on this screen.
Clicking Create Clan, will bring you to the Clan Creation screen.
Here you will be able to check the Availability of the Clan name and ID that you want to give your clan. You will also be able to give your clan an Introduction and to specify the Region in which the most of your clan plans to be active.- Clan Name:
- Clan Name is the name your clan will go by. This is the name that will be displayed in game.
- Your Clan Name must be between 4 and 12 characters long.
- Special Characters are not allowed. Only numbers and letters will be accepted.
- This can be changed at a later date by purchasing a Clan Name change item from the Item Shop (9500 ZP)
- Your name must be unique and cannot be the same as an existing clan’s
- Clan ID:
- Clan ID is the unique ID of your clan. It cannot be changed after creation, and will be visible sometime in the future. So make sure you pick the one you want.
- Your Clan ID can be between 4 and 12 characters long
- Special characters are not allowed. Only numbers and letters will be accepted.
- The first character must be a letter.
- Introduction
- Introductions must be at least 25 characters with a 200 character maximum.
- Special characters cannot be used.
- The introduction is viewable to anyone viewing your clan’s profile. So please keep them respectful and in good taste.
- The introduction can be changed at a later date from the clan management section (more on this later)
- Region
- The Region denotes the time zone that your clan is most active in. It can be changed at a later date, if required, from the clan management section.
- Regions available are as follows:
- NA West/Central
- NA Central/East
- Eastern Latin America
- UK
- North Africa
- Other
Applying to a clan
If you simply don’t want to manage a clan, then you can also apply to another person’s clan. To do so again access the Main Clan Page, however instead of clicking the Create Clan button, Click on the Search bar at the top of the page.
The search bar will allow you to search for a clan through either the clan’s name or the Clan Master’s IGN. Click whichever checkbox is appropriate to your search term and enter the term itself into the text field to the right. Once you have entered the Clan Name/In Game Name click on the Search button.
Depending on the term and the type of search you may receive several results. The clan screen will only show 3 clans at a time but allows you to skip to the next/previous page with the next/previous page buttons at the bottom.
Once you have located the clan you wish to join you can click either the Clan Name or the Clan Mark to view the clan’s profile page. Here you will be able to view the clan’s name, master, Level, Activity Score, Registration date, member size, match history and active region.
If you are not in a clan you will also be able to use this screen to apply. Below the My Information section there is a button to apply to the clan. Clicking this button will prompt you for a message to join your application. It is your choice if you wish to enter a message, once you click OK the application will be sent for approval.
Special Notes
Depending on the settings a clan master chooses you may not be able to apply to a clan. A clan master is capable of setting certain restrictions which prevent application when not met.
You will not be able to apply to a clan if you are already the member of another clan.
You can only apply to 3 clans per day, so make sure that you really want to apply to those clans. -
Clan Pages
Clan Profile Page
As stated above the clan profile page allows you to see the clan’s name, master, Level, Activity Score, Registration date, member size, match history and active region. If you are not a member of a clan it allows you to apply to whichever clan you are looking at.
If you are a member of a clan the profile page will remain largely the same. However instead of being given the option to join the clan you will instead be able to either leave the clan, or view whatever authority you have been given for that clan.
If you are still waiting for approval to a clan, you can also cancel your application from this screen if necessary.ExpansionThe clan’s roster can also be expanded from this screen, but only if you have been a member of the clan for more than 7 days. On the right hand side of the screen there will be a ‘Clan member expansion’ button. Click on this button will allow you to increase the number of clan members your clan can have, as long as you have the correct number of clan expansion tickets.- Clans start with 20 slots in their clan roster at first creation.
- The max number of members a clan can have is 100.
- You gain 5 member slots per Clan Expansion Coupon.
- Clan Expansion Coupons are available in the Item Shop for 1600/4500/7200 ZP for 1/3/5 coupons respectively
Clan Home
Clicking on this tab will bring you to the Clan Home screen. Here you will be able to see any notices that the Clan Master has set up for your clan to see. This screen can only be accessed if you are a member of the clan.
If you are the Clan Master you can change the notices from here. Simply click on the text field write your message and then click the Modify button.
You can also expand the clan’s roster size from this screen, by clicking on the ‘Clan member expansion’ button.
Clan Member
Clicking this tab will open a list of the current members of the clan.
Like the last two pages the clan roster can be expanded from this screen.
Clan Statistics
The clan statistics displays the clans Activity Points, Clan Match Record, and the number of staff that clan has available.
It also lists the Regimental Commander, Battalion Commander, and Company Commanders available in the clan. However, at this time these positions are not able to be assigned to players. -
Clan Management
General Clan Management
As stated above, the clan management tools can be accessed from the Clan Profile page. In the upper right hand corner of the screen there will be a button that says Clan Manage.
Profile Management
Clicking on the Clan Manage button will default the Clan Master to this page. Here the Clan Master can change the Active Region of the clan, and the Clan Introduction.
Please note that all restrictions outlined in the “Creating a Clan” section above are also applicable here.- Introduction

Join Request Approval
It is possible for the Clan Master to set certain rank conditions for application. This will ensure that any players that do not meet this rank requirement will not be able to apply to your clan.
This section also allows the clan master to set an automatic acceptance of applications, or for applications to receive manual acceptance from either the Master or another member who has been authorized to accept applications.
Please note that any changes will require confirmation by clicking the ‘Modify’ button.
Clan Mark Management
This section allows the Clan Master to change the clan mark available to the clan. The clan mark can be comprised of 3 different parts: the Main image, the background, and the border. Each part has multiple options to choose from so you should be able to find something unique and awesome.
There is also a preview on the right side of the screen that will show you what your clan mark will look like once you have finished customizing it.
Please note that in order to complete a clan mark change you will need to have purchased the “Clan Mark Change” item from the Item Shop first. It is available for 1500 ZP.
Clan Name Change
Here the Clan Master will be able to change the Clan’s Name. As mentioned in the “Creating a Clan” section above, the following rules still apply here.- Your Clan Name must be between 4 and 12 characters long.
- Special Characters are not allowed. Only numbers and letters will be accepted.
- Your name must be unique and cannot be the same as an existing clan’s
- You will need a Clan Name Change Ticket to change the Clan Name. You can purchase this in the shop for 9500 ZP
Basic Administration
See Membership Management below
Master Transfer
This section allows the Clan Master to give the clan leadership to another member of the clan. To do so the Master will have to pick from a list of members who have already received a promotion to Lieutenant.
Once the Clan Master has selected the player they wish to transfer the leadership to they will have to click the ‘Master Transfer’ button. Once that has been clicked you will receive two confirmation alerts you will have to confirm before the transfer will take place.
The transfer itself will require 7 days before it is complete. You can stop the transfer at any time during this period, by clicking the 'Cancel Transfer' button. Once the transfer period has completed the old clan master will have to complete the second confirmation to finish the transfer of the masters rights.
Please note that the new Clan Master will need to be above Staff Sergeant and have at least 5,000 GP as this will be consumed upon taking leadership of the clan.
Clan Disband
See ‘Disbanding a Clan’ in the ‘The End’ section below.
Management history
Here you will be able to see any and all changes made to the clan and the clan’s profile page. Each entry gives a brief synopsis of what was changed as well as the date stamp for when it occurred.
Membership Management
The center buttons on the clan management page will handle all of your membership management needs.
Applicant Acceptance
Clicking on the ‘Applicants’ button will allow you to review the available applications to your clan.
The list of applicants will detail each member’s IGN, rank, and the date they applied to your clan.
From here you can click on the checkmarks beside each player’s name to apply the acceptance/refusal decision you have made.
Please note: this list will only appear if you have not selected the automatic acceptance option as outlined in the ‘Join Request Approval’ section above.
Promotion/Demotion
Clicking on the Staff button will bring you to the staff screen. From here you can see the total amount of each staff type that your clan supports. These numbers can increase as your clan activity level increases, once they have increased they will not decrease regardless of if your clan activity level decreases.
If you have available slots for one of the staff ranks then you can assign one of you clan members to that staff rank. Click on the ‘Change staff in charge’ button then check all the users you want to add to that rank from the bottom list and click add. To remove simply check off the users you wish to remove on the upper list and then click remove.
The Staff slots unlock as your clan increases in activity level. The slots will unlock as follows.
Each rank gives the clan member certain authority in the clan.
Kicking/Banning a Member
Clicking on the ‘Clan Member Manage’ Button allows the Clan Master and Lieutenants to see all the members currently in the clan. As well as when these members signed onto the clan, and when they last visited the clan page. Clicking the checkbox beside a player’s name will select them for expulsion.
Once all the players that you wish to expel have been selected clicking on the Expel button will bring up a pop up asking if you would like to simply expel the selected players from the clan, or completely ban them from even re-applying to the clan. In either event, the players will no longer be members of the clan and will receive notice when they next log in.
Unbanning a Player
If a player was accidentally banned, or has mended their ways and you should wish to unban them then you will want to check out the Ex-Clan Member section. Clicking on the ‘Ex-Clan Member’ button will bring you to a list of all the members that have recently left/been kicked from the clan.
The ‘Permanent Ban member’ tab will show you the list of all Ex-Clan members that were banned from the clan. You can select all the banned players you wish to remove from the ban list by clicking the checkmarks beside their names.
Once you have them all selected click the Cancel Permanent Ban button and they will be removed from the list. -
Clan Matches/Activity/Metrics
Activity Points
Activity Points are a measure of how active your clan is in the game. Activity points are calculated from the sum of all members gameplay and shop purchases.
Activity Points can be contributed to in 2 ways. Playing Games and making Purchases in the Shop.- For Every 500 EXP a player earns they will contribute 1 Activity point to their clan. This continues until a player has made 5000 EXP, or rather until they contribute 10 Activity Points. Once a player has contributed 10 Activity Points they will not be able to contribute anymore until the daily reset (6:00 AM EDT). These points will not update on your profile page until the next daily reset as well.
- For every 200 ZP a player spends in game they will contribute 10 Activity Points.
Activity Points are only used to determine the clan activity level, any events Z8 Games holds regarding clans will NOT use Activity Points as a basis for measurement/participation. The Activity Points are also NOT going to be used for any competitive matchmaking/ranking.
Competitive Points
Competitive Points will function exactly like they did with the web client. With clans gaining points for both EXP gains by the members, as well as any points gained from matches between clans.- 500 EXP will earn a clan 1 clan point.
- Facing clans that are higher in rank will always end up granting more Clan points than facing a lower rank clan.
- Facing the same clan repeatedly will not award points after 2 matches (or 4 halves).
- If a clan match results in a completely one-sided outcome no points will be awarded. As a rule the closer a match is the better.
Important Note
Both the Clan Points and Activity Points will have 5% of their total deducted every Monday @ 1AM EDT -
The End
It happens all the time, a clan becomes inactive, or you want to start a new clan with other friends, or for whatever reason, your time with your current clan is over. In these instances we do have tools prepared to let you part ways with your clan mates.
Leaving a clan
Leaving a clan is a fairly quick and painless process. If you are leaving of your own accord all you need to do is simply visit your clan’s profile page and click on the ‘Resign’ button. You will be asked to confirm your resignation, if you click Confirm then you will receive a notification that you have resigned from the clan and you will be removed from its roster.
In the event that the resignation could not be processed, an alert will notify you and ask you to try again later.
Disbanding a clan
If the Master is the last remaining member of the clan then they will be required to terminate the clan. Terminating the clan will remove it from the clan leaderboards and will delete any trace of the clan ever existing.
To disband a clan the following criteria must be met:- There Must not be any members in the clan (Master excepted)
- Clan Master must navigate to the Clan Disband section of the Clan Management and must confirm the termination of the clan.
A clan will also be automatically disbanded if it has less than 5 members for more than 2 months.
With all of these tools at your disposal, managing a clan has been made easier than ever. As always if you have any questions about the clan system that haven't been answered here then please ask away and we will do our best to answer. -
FAQ
This section reserved for Frequently Asked Questions as they arise.
Q) What's with the Regimental/Battalion/Company Commander ranks?
A) Currently the Regimental/Battalion/Company Commanders are not implemented. These are intended for the organization of clan members. We will be sure to let you all know in the future if these do get implemented.
Q) My clan leader is inactive or received a permanent ban, how can I get leader rights.
A) If the Clan Master is inactive for 90 days (no matter for what reason), they will have their leadership rights promoted to the next highest positioned Staff member. (ie Lieutenant)
Q) I purchased a Clan name change ticket/Clan mark ticket but I can't access those sections even though I'm a lieutenant.
A) Only the Clan Master has the ability to change the Clan Name/Clan Mark. If you purchase one but are not the clan leader you will not be able to use it for your clan. -
Regarding the Regimental/Battalion/Company Commanders:
Currently the Regimental/Battalion/Company Commanders are not implemented. These are intended for the organization of clan members. We will be sure to let you all know in the future if these do get implemented. -

Cool Cool, thank you very much -
Nice Guide! Answers a lot Assuming the viewing of Ex Clan Members and Banning/Unbanning of former members is a function of the Master/Leader.... is there any chance these access rights can be added for the appointed LT's? ie: give LT's more admin rights?
Also, can an XO position (a 2nd in charge or Co-Leader) be created? This appointment would have all the same powers of the Master/Leader except for disban the clan or Kick the Master? Basically a position that will allow the same functions of the Leader but not the ability to disban. -

How am I able to join those clans?
Nevermind found out myself.
Only need to know the name of the leader and search for him.
Yea, good question. How do we do search up those clans? Not to mention, many clans also have a trademark symbol (™) after their clan name.
EDIT: What would happen if we don't know who the clan leader is? -
[GM]Castiel wrote: »....... all that text and screens....
I think the search engine is set to search only exact matches.
You should change that becaouse most clans cannot be found.
Knowing the name of the leader doesnt really solve problems since they often have wierd **** in their name also. -

So what happens with the slot's my clan paid for in terms of permanent Lieutenant positions? Do we simply lose all of our LT's and now have to demote most of our Lieutenants?..... Seems a little unfair to simply remove something that we paid for, and it does matter because the LT position is of higher authority.
Seems like clans who pay nothing have the ability go gain exactly the same thing for what clans paid real money for. I understand it's a new change but it does seem, (how do you say it without offending every free to play player here), unfair?.... You get what I mean.
Will there be more of a difference between the bottom 3 ranks (instructors/directors/diplomats), or is that all the power they will get? If it stays like this then there is no difference between them, making people not care between which one of them they are. Would decrease motivation to achieve a higher position...
Has potential, hopefully you guys don't mess this one up Lets see what this chapter in crossfire brings us....
