NA All-Star Tournament
Tournament Overview
We are running with a total of 24 teams. The event format will be Double Elimination, with an upper (winner) and lower (loser) bracket.
Your objective is simple; defeat your opponents in respective "bracket rounds" to advance to the next round of play, according to the bracket.
The semi-finals will be played out by a best of 3 (bo3), and the finals by a best out of 5 (bo5).
The following information will explain some of the general guidelines of this event, the restrictions and what's allowed, and additional tournament/contact guidelines.
Please read about forfeit wins and incomplete matches below.
Registration and Format
Registration will begin from August 15-August 29th. Registration will end at 11:59 PM EST on August 29th, 2014. Any teams registered after that time will be placed on the waiting list. Teams that register after it has exceeded the 32-team limit, and before the registration period ends, will also be placed on the waiting list. Teams on the waiting list are free to update their rosters, at any given time. However, once you replace a team (if needed), you will follow the proper guidelines on roster changes.

General Guidelines
The Captain
The captain of a team is responsible for arranging your match times, reporting matches, and disputing. If he is by chance absent for a match and cannot perform post-game duties, an exception may be made so a co-captain/another member of your team may be able to take on the responsibilities of the captain.
Inactivity and Team Disband
You, as a team, may not be able to attend every single match. While that's understandable, it is also your responsibility to note your absence during that specific week.
If your team no longer has the interest of participating, please make it an effort to notify the administrator asap. Disbanded teams will be replaced by a team on the waiting list. The replacing team will take on the current record standing of the disbanded team. However, teams may not be replaced during playoffs. If you plan to not play, which is possibly the worst decision after being so far down the road already, your opponent will take on a forfeit win.
Roster Changes/Updates
You are limited to 5 roster changes throughout this event. They will be used and updated as you request for a change.
**Subs and Starting 5s**
Every player on your respective roster is allowedto play on match day. If a starting player cannot attend, a sub will be able to be moved up to the S5 spot and take his place. The change does not count as an actual roster change, and therefore will not trigger use one of your limited uses available to you.
Match Times
Default time is set for 8 PM EST on Saturday, for every round.
This is an alternative option if you cannot play at default; you will need to contact your opposing team for that week and schedule a time to complete your match. If you do come to an agreement to play a match early, you need to notify the administrator. It will be assumed that you're playing at default time, if you do not have plans to schedule for an earlier date during that week to complete the match.
FFWs may be declared if 1) your opposing team does not show after a 15-minute Grace Period or 2) the captain or another member of your opposing team has contacted you, forwarding the forfeit announcement (note that you will need to take valid screenshots of proof). To declare a FFW after the 15-minute grace period, you will need to take a valid screenshot for proof. Certain details will need to be contained in order for it to be valid; the current time stamp and time zone, the appropriate room name and correct settings, and all 5 members of your team in that room. You must upload that screenshot on the reporting thread.
Server Guidelines and Room Settings
All matches will be played in North America 5, Channel 8 (previously known as Echo 8). If your team wishes to move the match to another server, either due to ping complications or another reason, your opposing team must agree to the proposal.

Perspective/POV: First person
Spectators: Restricted and none (UNLESS the match is being casted. You must notify the administrator if you're having your match casted.)
Map: The set map for that specific week (Maps for each week can be reviewed @ "Map Pool")
Objective: Win a majority of the rounds. BOTH halves must be completed. There is only one excuse, and that is if you 9-0 your opponents for the first half. Under that scenario, you would only need 1 more round in order to take the win. Otherwise if it's calculated that you do not need to complete the entire second half and that you've taken the game by winning a majority of the rounds, you may declare "good game".
Side Decision
A knife round will decide who starts on which side for that week's specific map. The winner of the knife round will get to choose which side they want to play on first.
Also, planting the C4 during the knife round is prohibited. The BL team that plants the C4 will automatically be decided the losing team of the knife round. It is highly recommended that the knife round be completed at Port A long, full 5v5. You may only use the Knife.
Prohibited Movement, Technique, and Gameplay
Glitching the C4 is forbidden. You must plant the C4 at a visible (a minimum of 1 pixel needs to be visible to GR players), and viable spot.
Boosting/stacking that requires more than 2 players present is forbidden.
You may not glitch, or bug, into a box or a wall; therefore remain invulnerable to your enemies. This is a strict rule and you may be penalized for abusing glitches/bugs in general.
Extensive Restrictions and Tournament Guidelines
1) Cheating in any way is prohibited, period. Doing so has no fundamental gain and will only earn you a tournament ban and you will be subjected to further punishment by Z8Games.
2) Your player USNs must link to a legitimate CrossFire account. USNs will remain consistent and unchangeable in order for league admins to follow through with IGN changes.
NOTE: You do not have to be in the same clan. However, your player name should not appear on 2 different rosters. Please read the "General Guidelines" for more information on roster changes.
3) You must record with only Bandicam, at a minimum set of 10 FPS/50 Quality. All sound must be recorded, including voice communication programs.
All player Bandicam's MUST be saved and uploaded upon request and in case of a dispute. It is also recommended that captains and/or multiple players save the game replay. This is to guarantee strict legitimacy within and throughout your matches, and the event itself. Game replays that are deemed suspicious will be asked to be submitted to Z8Games Support for further review and clarification.
4) Disputes must be made within 24 hours upon the end of your match. The disputed party must have their player(s) upload within a 48-hour limit, if asked to. This limit also covers the screenshot-for-armor request. Failure to do so will result in the "winning team" taking the avoidable loss. If you have no disputes, please also state so while reporting your match. If you do not and 24 hours after your match, it will be assumed that you have no dispute against your opponents.
5) It is necessary for forfeit wins to be reported, either by your team or by your opposing team, or both. This is so no confusions can be caused.

You are prohibited from using VIP weapons in-game. However, they may only serve the sole purpose of obtaining the bonus effects of EXP/GP. The best way to avoid being disqualified for using VIP weapons during your match is to remove them before the game starts.

These are the matches that will be played on September 7th. Please schedule accordingly, or play at default time.
September 12th - All Roster Additions and Changes/Replacements will trigger use 1 of your five limits. -
Signups will extend through for 14 more days (2 weeks) until the end of August 29th.
Just to clarify, any changes you make to your roster during the registration period will not trigger use one of your limited roster changes.
You will find your team registered under "Registered Teams". Once we have 32 spots filled, teams that signup will be listed under our "Waiting List". -
Also, will only the players on your s5 be allowed to play? Or are subs allowed to play on match day without being swapped into the s5 via roster change.
Hm, is that not on there? I remember mentioning about subs and roster changes. I'll edit that onto the thread.
To clarify, your entire team roster has the right to play on match day. Subs may be moved up to a S5 spot if a current starting player cannot attend, and that would not count as a roster change. However, rosters will lock before each match so you may not add/replace with "new" players. -

So the only VIP weapons allowed to have in your bags are the RPK, Thompson, and AK's, correct?
Thanks for reminding me, that has been updated into the post.
Technically, you can only have the AK's, since every other VIP grants bonus ammo for that particular gun type. But since only rifles and snipers are allowed, as primary weapons, the RPK and Thompson are fine. -
what time will the matches be played at? and what day will they be played on?Default time is set at 8 PM EST on Saturday, for every week during group play. Playoff dates will be set as we move forward.
For now, matches are set for 8 PM Eastern on Saturdays for group stages. We can do 8 PM EST Fridays or Saturdays, not Sunday because ESL runs their competitions on that day of the week.maxstoem1010 wrote: »Can i use my phone to record the games if dispute goes on. Exceptions can be made, if recording makes your performances go downhill. Though if you are going to use a phone/camera device, you better make sure that every pixel of your screen resolution can be recorded, and at decent quality. If you can record sound, great. But if you can't, at least one of your teammates must save and submit their recording (with sound) in the case of a dispute. -
